I support the 12 discards R1, and 24 discards R2+. I think it is a nice compromise between the 24 discards starting right at R1 and taking 3-4 rounds to ramp up to the max discards.

Round 1 is not plain Rng. We still have 10 wars of experience and know roughly what people will have in vault. Especially now when the market makes vault more restrictive. Teams can easily keep a few surprise decks to round 3 and 4 or later anyways to confuse the mindgate. So I'm favor of not having 2-3 test round before war starts for real.

Added a poll to get more feedback on what people want. Note that we will choose what we deem the best distribution for overall course of war, not what the community prefers. But strong support for an option will indicate that people prefer that course for war, and we will consider it.

Other newly planned changes:

- Hydra status will be made public knowledge, and the forum account will still be limited to one game account
- We will not have draft hybrid with auction for this war, since it adds too much on top of other changes. The idea is very good and should be considered for a future war, but for now it's better to maintain a consistent system and test out the changes made to auction system
- Generals will not be locked from bidding on any player at any point in auction.
- There will be a max amount for total bids that generals cannot cross (bids on a single player aren't restricted other than this). This amount, as well as the total amount generals start with, are still under consideration.

As always, your thoughts are welcome. We hope to prepare the official rules post and have it posted fairly soon. Thank you for bearing with us!

It seems your issue here is that stronger elements with stronger masters have an advantage because of favourites. The point you quoted only tangentially affects that.

Edit: do you want to imply that bad elements get their (weaker) decks cheaper and thus can afford better players if there is no upper limit for auction?

The problem we are trying to solve from this is the following : since we removed the bid limit (nuber of bids) and gen locking, any tactical gen can bid the same amount on *all* players, hence potentially raising the prices dramatically for everyone.
Limitting how much gens can bid in this way allows more strategy to emerge v:

Hmm, I'd rather there be a limit on number of bids we are allowed to make than the amount we spend on bids. Not sure what other gens want though? Also, you guys probs thought about it so wouldn't hurt trying it out I guess.
