That... makes little sense to me?
People act with sportsmanship, to counter inhuman levels of unfairness in the game (mainly AI being a giant bag of derps that had several lobotomies).
This is generally not really linked to the event in any way, but to the game. You can be just as sportsmanly in tournaments, or leagues, or events or we.

Btw. I don't want any changes or cancel the match ups. This wouldn't be fair to team :air. The decisions were made and we will take what we got.
Let's hope for more balanced Event Cards in the future.

Shall i take this as you wanted Air to win all along and thus fielded a suicide and avoided targetting them as soon as you knew  :aether wouldn't win and just targeted them back then, because causing the winning team to discard is the best way to win war?

Edit: I mean I too would have wanted air to win if I had no alive team anymore, as I like everyone in the team and it's kind of due. Wouldnt mind a complete outsider team like  :gravity or  :water winning either (heck everyone that is targeted heavily exceeded most expectations through sheer skill, rather than having a powerful element, though I should not discredit  :air here, they did unusually well for any team in war history even if the rules favor them a bit).
I personally would have asked for a friendly match with whichever team that hasnt been targeted, conceding the last 3 games if need be, so I could have fun without sabotaging the endresult unfairly.
I am just curious what your reason is if its not "they beat me, so noone shall beat them"

I honestly have no idea how you jumped to these conclusions...

1. I knew aether wouldn't win before war started
2. I knew aether wouldn't win after we started 10-0 through 2 rounds
3. We fielded 3 straight rounds of decks that had a chance against sofree, including targeting air as a mine.
4. We only suicided the next match because we needed to in order to drop a match based on vault size

I have no doubt if aether was still alive and in the top 3 that we would like to be targeted by most teams for any number of reasons... aether has already won a lot, deuce is an excellent sportsman and I just really enjoy playing against him, etc.

If you were to just bend over and forfeit the last 3 games of a match, would that be fair to the teams that ended up losing their match, not really. If everyone agrees to lose their match, then that's a big middle finger to the WMs. But I'm sure all the teams that are dead spent almost no time picking or even testing the deck they are bringing. I honestly expect pretty much all the dead teams to lose, which has the same result if we all just bent over and took it up the backdoor.

I want air to win for a number of reasons, I don't want gravity to win for a number of reasons, water was essentially picked randomly in order to comply with the EC.

Does anyone else dislike how this EC means decks should not be posted until all matches are done? Honestly, what's the point of waking up early to see match results if you can't see the fricking decks >.>

Would people have liked it better if the EC meant every team gets at least 1 match? Removing free choice of dead teams? How many teams have each and every alive team beat each and every dead team?

How many of you were in war 4? How many of you got affected by the last EC. This EC is bad, don't  get me wrong, I dislike it as well. But it's not horrible. We've had worse. Now you're not complaining for game-changers but you're all nitpicking. I know this is tense, we're getting to the end of war. I know air has a big lead and helping them even more can seem unfair. But nobody chose that. Let's all remember this is just a game after all, and WMs are doing a lot of work.

I want to end this post by thanking WMs for their effort. I never saw them complain about how much drama we've been making about all their ECs. This is part of the reason why I never want to be a WM, I think it is the toughest job on this community, and they deserve more recognition.

This type of EC ,is not something you want in an extremely competitive event where people have put an insane amout of time and effort.Simply put ,it's not fair,and when people enter a competitive event and find out rules,ECs,gimmicks, rulings ,whatever that give advantage to one player or a team or whatever , or handicap another,they get pissed. To top it all of, players out of the competition ,players that fought and lost and fairly out of the event ,get to affect the players remaining in a reality-like way.

This is the type of event you would want to happen in a party game ,for shits and giggles where the whole point is to have fun ,backstab and laugh. Not when the goal is to win. In comparison,majofa's joke EC above ,is way more reasonable and logical than this.

Hopefully,like us,most dead teams won't have spent more than 2 minutes to decide team and deck,so impact will be minimal.Hopefully.

I should first start off by mentioning that my views do not necessarily reflect those of my :air Air teammates.

When I first saw the EC I definitely had my qualms with it, moreso because teams that had been eliminated basically had to participate again. If a team is eliminated, they should not have to be expected to continue being a part of the even until the end. Team members may focus their time on other things after having been eliminated as a team and it's just not fair to ask those individuals to keep kicking. Furthermore, as the EC basically asked the dead to selectively choose who to pick on, little to nothing was left to skill and the EC was basically a "pick a team to mess with". Since targeted teams didn't even get any benefits from winning their matches, the issue was that it was purely a disadvantage in War to be selected, and it was targeting on a whim.

Though the EC fix patched up some of the card's issues, the disadvantageous spirit of the EC continues. I honestly thought more teams were going to pick us, team :air Air. But I'm also thinking that's what other teams thought, which is what might have resulted in the current team selection. And for the sake of :air Air's chances at winning War, I'm not complaining about the teams that were targeted but am still disappointed that the EC will purely be disadvantageous. It's not light-hearted, and can be quite a punishment to those teams chosen.

Having said that, thus far 2/7 EC matches have occurred and have had no effect on current vaults, so it's quite possible that this EC may have no effect whatsoever, but as those who have played War matches will know, even up against a solid counter, there's always the risk of a poor draw, and as far as ECs go, this was definitely a bad card to have as a part of the War Deck, and an even worse one to draw at this point.

Hopefully this EC is thoroughly revised for possible use in later Wars if at all.

The remaining 2 unused elements are  :aether and :light, if people have balanced EC ideas that could fit into these themes I would love to hear them. Please send a PM to both WMs (Physs and myself) any balanced ideas that you may have. There are no guarantees that we will or will not use your ideas, but it might help us adjust our current ideas to flow more with the type of ECs everyone would like to see.
