Aether Kingdom Map https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=49912.msg1080923#msg1080923
« on: June 17, 2013, 04:26:31 pm »
Well, ever since the water kingdom map has been completed I felt I should start creating a new one: Aetheria, the kingdom of Aether. Again, being the amateur, I don't expect it to be of outstanding quality.

Welcome to Kingdom Aetheria (Βασίλειο Αιθέρια/ Regnum Aetheria/ Unido Aetheria), the place inhabited by many things immaterial. Aetheria, with its orderly culture, filled with energy and immateriality allows it to become a near utopia. Its luscious purple is due to the constant gushes of plasma energy in the land of Aetheria. The beautiful mauve of the lands surrounded by the blueness of the ethereal sea makes it an extremely paradisiacal sight.

Area: 506,260km2

Population: 53, 212, 000 (Aetherians 74.72%), (Cealots 23.68%), (Phosians 1.47%), (Aerodromians 0.03%)

Largest Islands (Descending): Ipeira, Argoronisa, Para (Etherpara and Caelopara combined), Kalypala, Kommenos, Photovolia, Sextus Manus, Iudicio, Grammeno and Rexmalus

Human Geography: Aetheria is split casually into two different parts: Iperian Etheria (people there call themselves Etherians) and Caelot Etheria (people there call themselves Caelots), with Etherians speaking in Etherian (Greek) and Caelots speaking in Caelot (Latin). This is the reason why the island names are significantly different as one progresses more to the west or vice versa.

There is a boundary between them which is not shown in the map due to the fact it is a cultural rather than an administrative issue. It is referenced by two specific islands. The first island is called Anatolikotero ‘Anatolia (East) + -teros (more/most)’ literally meaning ‘easternmost’. It is the easternmost island which still officially speaks Etherian. It can be located near Etherpara / Caelopara. It has a small town called Riga with an even smaller island, Termes, on top of it. The westernmost island that speaks Cealot is called Maxoccidens ‘Max (Most) + Occidens (West)’. It is located northwest of Photovolia. It is these two islands which draw the artificial boundary between Etherians and Caelots.

There is also a small percentage of people who are Phosians (people from the Kingdom of Light) who essentially speak Etherian, except that Phosians call the language Phosian and Etherians call the language Etherian. The Kingdom of Light and Aether are generally in good relations with each other due to their similarities, distance and their history (I will post the History section within the next 24 hours).

There is also a minority of Aerodromians (in Etherian) / Cielese (in Cielese (Spanish), the language of the people from the Kingdom of Air.) They arrived due to the fact that the Kingdom of Gravity was conquering the Kingdom of Air. Realizing how safe Aetheria is, the Aerodromians sook refuge and hid in Northwestern Argoronisa. They established small towns and a city called Casa Seguridad ‘Seguridad (Secure/Safe) + Casa (House)’ literally meaning ’Safehouse’ there. In present day they also inhabit in the Cieltierra region. Around 1.6 million Aerodromians still stay in Aetheria and most of them can be found in Ciudad de Sol ‘City of the Sun’.

Physical Geography: Will be updating it in the next 24 hours

Zoology: Will be updating it in the next 24 hours

History: Will be updating it in the next 24 hours

If you have any comments or questions, feel free to post them and I’ll be happy to respond them. Enjoy and have fun!!! :)

Physical Geography: Aetheria has three different levels of administrative regions. The first administrative region is the nautical region. It can be shown by the dotted line carving out pieces of sea with them, identified in the legend as an aid. The largest and perhaps strongest of them is Ergatikonia ‘From Greek (Etherian) ergatiko (work)’, controlling Ipeira and Argoronisa the two strongest islands in the kingdom, significantly developed islands such as Kalypala and Mykonia are also within this nautical region. The second level administrative region are the islands themselves, and the thirdlevel administrative regions are cities, towns, metropolises et cetera within the island. Islands that aren’t settled or significant enough to have a town do not have this level of administrative region.

Capital: The central government is located in the area of Kephalos. Kephalos is the home of 4.8 million people.

Acropolis: There are ten acropolises. They hold government offices there too. In terms of political power from descending order, they are: Deuteros, Tritos, Tetartos, Pembtos, Eptiychia, Paelagus, Sidero, Fortitus, Neokratoi and Pyros. They each hold at least 1.5 million people.

Metropolis: A bustling city within a small region. They each hold a minimum of 350,000 people.

City: A region that is generally larger than a metropolis but less people inhabitating there. They hold at least a population of 20,000.

Town: Pretty much the equivalent to a suburban state. It is generally quiet there and the lack of development makes it essential tourist spots who love to relax and unwind in Aetheria. They hold no less than 1000 people.

Aetheria is a beautiful place, due to the ethereal nature of the sea and the luminescence, effervescence and ubiquity of energy. Whether it be by ionisation, lasers or the plasma that spreads the purple across the land, it forms a beauty literally which is not of this world.

Would post descriptions about the cities and regions soon.

I don't think it's intended to be added to the game. Something more like a fan art or story, just a lot more complicated and amazing :D

Awesome job! Furthermore, in addition to all these Greek names used in the map, the landscape itself looks like an alternative version of modern Greece. Cheers!

Places by political strength:

1. Kephalos - Ipeira: Kephalos ‘Etherian (head, male declension)’ is the home of 4.8 million people and is the political house of the kingdom. Most laws and regulations originate from this city. Kephalos was chosen to be the political center is due to its convenient location of trade, political convenience and its history of its pre-development. Its status attracts Etherians, Caelots and Phosians to inhabit there, for those having governmental related careers. Although it is a bustling city, it still holds some of the oldest historical sites and ruins before Aetheria started to become cosmopolitan. The archaic ruins mounted on fairly flat hills and the plasma aurora that lights the nocturnal sky is the ideal place for sightseeing. A trip is not complete without a tour of the grandeur Kephalos has to offer.

2. Deuteros - Ipeira: Literally meaning ‘Second’ in Etherian, Deuteros is a bustling acropolis with 3.3 million people and the second most powerful in terms of governmental authority. Located near the Triskylos River, its parliament brings vigor and order to its nearby regions and its simultaneous character of fortitude and beauty creates a symbol to not only the kingdom of Etheria, but the entire Elements Universe.

3. Tritos - Argoronisa: Literally Etherian for third, it is located near the Χοβολή Πυρήνα ‘Chovoli Pyrina’ (Ember Core), it is one of the earliest settlements due to the core’s seemingly everlasting supply of free energy. This allows facilities such as electricity to be able to run through this city without much cost. This benefit makes it the third most powerful political city and the home to 2.3 million people to the present day. Its location allows one to travel to the Ipeira Island easily. Its relatively advanced city along with the beautiful white-blue luminescence from the Chovoli Pyrina makes it an excellent spot for sightseeing.

4. Tetartos - Etherpara: Moving away from Ergatokonia into the nautical region of Sfragida, it proudly holds the long southern island of Para, stretching for over 750 km! Literally Etherian for fourth, it not only holds the fourth parliament, but it was also an ideal location for a settlement during the Etherian Revolution (see history) due to it being near the original place of the Revolution itself. With its nearby metropolises fairly spread out and near the Omorphos Lake, it proudly hosts the beautiful view of crystal blue water, an ideal spot for swimming, fishing and relaxing. If one doesn’t really like bustling cities, this is the place to go to with only 2 million people living there.

5. Pembtos – Ipeira: The fifth most powerful acropolis and literally meaning ‘fifth’, it is known for its 5 diverging roads, hence its name. A crowded city in a small region, it is no surprise that many people come here for shopping or people who desire to have an experience with internationalism. The international themed acropolis is home to 2.2 million people.

6. Epitychia – Argoronisa: It may not be the most powerful in terms of political authority, but it is the economic stronghold of the present day. Surronded by four other metropolises, it is the financial center and the most crowded region in all of Aetheria, with a staggering 12.5 million people! If one is interested in futuristic civilizations and prefers the super urban life, this is the place to be.

7. Paelagus – Caelopara: The most powerful of only two acropolises in the Caelot side of Aetheria, it is the more crowded version of Tetartos with around 2.8 milion people. Near Aurorum Maximum, metropolis and trading port, it is also a place ideal for international tastes. However, because the Caelot Aetheria is less developed, it gives a more suburban feel with bits of nature within the city. This place is a nice tourism spot for those who love nature and city life to conglomerate together.

8. Sidero – Kalypala: Etherian for ‘iron’, it is named so because it had political authority over the island of Kalypala. Being the northernmost acropolis, less people inhabit there due to it being relatively far away from Ipeira and Argoronisa. Furthermore, it is relatively undeveloped, hence, less people living there with only 1.7 million people, the second smallest of all acropolises. However, the small acropolis near the Kryo Potami makes it a destination for relaxation and nature sightseeing.

9. Fortitus – Primoultimus: ‘Fortitus’ (Caelot: Strong) Being the second political office of Caelot Aetheria, It was the stronghold to fight against the Etherians during the Aetherian Revolution. From primo- ‘first’ + ultimus- ‘last’, it was named this way to ensure that it was the ‘alpha and omega’, that it will be here in the beginning and the end. It was because of this which is why it is perfect for those who love to see fortresses and castles as some people still live in there today. This small acropolis holds 2 million people.

10. Neokratoi – Ipeira: ‘Neo’ (New) + ‘Kratas’ (Power), it was one of the newest acropolises established around 50 years ago. It was placed there due to its convenience and the rapid development of that region. Ever since then, it is known for its futuristic looks, an ideal spot for those who desire to live in a world of the future. It hold around 2.5 million people.
