You're probably all asking yourselves, can this really rush down a false god? The answer is yes*!

*32% of the time.

You'll surely next be thinking "Wait, that's crap" — a sentiment you don't have to do much research to support.

Based on a purely empirical test against 100 FGs, this deck managed to win a meager 32 of those with just 4 being EMs. Poison Dials' winrate is estimated between 60-80% and gets god knows how many EMs — at more than 100 HP, too. So you've got to ask yourself why this lunatic arachnid is posting about a deck that cannot possibly compete with the champs and rather obviously belongs in the PVP sector.

It's because he can!

Although the deck's winrate is unexceptional, it has a big advantage of speed. I'm not nearly clever enough to do a UEI to support this claim (yeah, go ahead and give that link a read, it's soooo much fun), and I wouldn't do it anyway because frankly this deck isn't that good, but it does have the advantage of either winning or losing very quickly. In a losing game your doom will often become obvious from just a few turns, so you can save yourself the time by quitting and trying your luck with the next FG. In the less likely event that you actually win, it can be done in as few as 6 turns (15% of wins).

Convinced yet? You shouldn't be.

Another taxing trait of this deck is its exceptional difficulty to play. It is, somewhat surprisingly, a smart deck. It takes a while to master all of the tricks and interactions with the AI. Here are but a few tips:

  • Don't use Seraph's shield if you just played a new one — unless you think the FG can kill more than one this turn.
  • Beat Miracle (the card) with burst damage, by holding onto a Seraph or using Cremate to manipulate your damage.
  • Vs FG's with many Steal/Explosion, hold your SoFre as they can help clog their hand, then use them for burst damage.
  • After using SoBra, consider baiting any CC the FG drew with Phoenixes, even if it means waiting a turn longer to play a Seraph.

So why did I bother running a test on this deck knowing it was so inadequate? Why do I keep writing rhetorical questions? They're both for the same reason and it isn't because I've been watching too much Top Gear and have my own little "Jeremy Clarkson" voice in my head while I'm writing.

It's because it's fun.
*Vroooooooooom!*

Getting your head around the complex interactions with the AI makes you feel clever when it works, and downright stupid when it fails. You'll still get your bottom kicked by Dream Catcher and Octane, but when you decide not to Cremate the Phoenix that Obliterator puts Gravity Pull on you'll be chuffing with pride when he has nothing left to stop your Seraph going immortal next turn.

It may be a turbo-powered Top Gear drag race to your own death 68% of the time, but it's totally worth it.

Spoiler for AutoQuits:
  • Octane
  • Dreamcatcher
  • Octane
  • Fire Queen
  • Seriously Octane will f~ you up.

Yes it's a quartet but it's basically a free bird deck with a improved heal and two SoSac which is a interesting modification.

Yes it was an attempt to modify Freebird (good name) for use in Gold/Plat/FG.

The founding theory was that SoBra has synergy with SoSac since it gives the enemy more aggro. I started with 3 SoSac, but quickly realized the heal was more useful given it lacks other stalling.

lol, is always funny when u find a dude online that lives on another part in the world and has your similar idea.

i'm experimenting something similar for plat (mixing a rush deck with sosac for at least 2 more turns of """"invincibility""", and actually works (or at least, u have a more solid deck against everything and u don't need to click 10 times per turn on your oty or do neverending matchs with poison dials).

the huge problem of any rush deck is that it can be outrushed so easily against a deck with 200 hp that draws two cards per turn, but in the endgame the trade of all your quanta (except the death one) can save so many games.

i will probably never try to farm false gods with this (the brave malignant cell and poison dials has a better winrate) but i will probably give a lot of tries in platinum (i really dislike gold, but it should work even better)

Does anybody else get a problem with losing  :fire because of SoSac?
Or am I just playing the deck wrong?

like the OP says, u need to play a little bit before mastering this deck (try it in the trainer, if u don't wanna waste some gold)

u should try to use sosac only when u can easily immolate a creature (obv u should remember to cast immolation after sosac, if u wanna do it in the same turn) or in the lategame when u have some creature in play and u don't mind wasting fire quanta.

if u need to cast sosac in the early game with only one or two creature in play mean that u are pretty screwed (but can happen to any deck)

Couldn't find any more recent builds of this, so I'm sharing my favourite Freebird variant right here on my own post: it's the kind that makes Silence an actually good card :D

Again it takes some practice to play this deck well, but I love being able to play a deck where there are actually moments when I think "I hope I draw a Silence!"

Given the sad state of affairs with the dwindling player-base and bizarre arena bugs, it's a very viable platinum farm. You can jump in against FGs too, if you fancy dying most of the time :D
