Please,some clarification...

"Your element pool will include  :entropy :death :gravity :earth :life :fire :water :light  :rainbow :time :darkness :aether and your unlocks from Phase 1 tasks."
In Phase 1 have unlocked :
-Starting Your Own Little War :aether :death :entropy  :rainbow
-Waging War                           :aether  :rainbow :earth :life
-Taking Up Arms                       :life :water :fire :darkness

So,in total i have
:entropy :death :gravity :earth :life :fire :water :light  :rainbow :time :darkness :aether + :aether :death :entropy  :rainbow + :aether  :rainbow :earth :life + :life :water :fire :darkness
Am i right?

Second question- vs each of my 5 opponents i can use once mono  :air deck?

Third question- "If you use the :rainbow off-element in a game, you MUST use 6+ elements in your deck"
I suppose that other minimum 5 elements can be only from my unlocked elements?

No, you may use the other elements regardless of your element pool.

Using DANELLAs or a made up example of element pools, can we have examples of decks for that rule in Dani's 3rd question?

Third question- "If you use the :rainbow off-element in a game, you MUST use 6+ elements in your deck"
I suppose that other minimum 5 elements can be only from my unlocked elements?

No, you may use the other elements regardless of your element pool.

So basically a player's in-element Phase 1 unlock represents an "rainbow deck allowed" unlock instance.

This is to say that my in-element (Death), each time it appears in my list, is an allowed 6+ elements-used-deck or "rainbow" deck and consumes from my list ONLY the instance of :rainbow.

TrO's - is that an accurate interpretation of this?

Making a post here so people see it easier: I made a deck checker for Trials at http://etg.dek.im/vanilla/trials.htm
Simply choose the element you are trialing for, select the tasks you have done in Phase 1 (for Beginning War Training you choose how many categories you completed) and select if you are gonna play an in- or off-element game. Then click Test Deck and it will tell you if the deck is legal or not. If it was, it will also tell you which off-element(s) it uses.
The checker is also linked in the OP of this topic.

Note that only Darkness has its bans included, I will add the other elements' bans when they are posted here. If you notice any inconsistencies with the rules, just tell me and I'll update the checker.

During his work on the deck checker tool, Fippe also noticed that the upgrade distribution for standins was slightly incorrect - updated this so that the correct upgrades are now given for the tasks listed.

The deck checker is not registering an illegal deck for when an off-element has more than the in-element quantity (small band of this occurs between 40% and 50% if a duo)...

We are currently working on adding the in-element ban lists to the second post as well, please bear with us as we add them all in. Thanks for your patience!

Question regarding off-element bans.

How many of your opponent's in-element cards may you ban? It seems like max 2, one shard, one normal card.

If you ban their shard, you may not ban a creature of their element.

Can you ban a creature of their element if you did not ban their shard?

Two, yes. And the rule state you may ban their shard and a non-shard card. This non-shard card may not be a creature, regardless of you banning the shard.

There's a mistake in my unlocks,  completed "Being a war reporter", "Waging War" and "Taking up arms", my unlocked elements should be these: :light :earth :water :time :aether :air :earth :life :life :water :fire :darkness

If there are 3 participants, everyone sends in a list with 3 shards and one card per element. The Trials Overseers will provide a list to supplement the player provided lists
This does not really make sense to me. What are the cards in the supplementary list? Or are we not supposed to know them, in which case my question is how the cards are being chosen? Are they random? Are they the cards the TrOs personally think are most powerful?

The list will include cards which the TrOs think are strongest from each element with respect to synergy with :fire. The list has been provided by me.

I'm not sure how tedious it is adding ban lists element-by-element instead of all-at-once after they're all in, but it would be helpful to get them input somewhat close to the timeframe they are revealed to make most use of the checker.

:)

Thanks Fippe! :)

TrOs: It would help a lot if you posted a deck code with the bans as well, would make updating faster and easier.

Thanks for the hard work, Fippe - I will start adding deck codes to the posts later, but don't have the time to do it right at this moment.

A note for off-element bans: Shard of Focus may be banned, as it isn't a non-shard creature. Sorry for any confusion caused.

I am requesting an extension of the duel phase. 24 games in 7 days against several different opponents is...A LOT. I see a lot of matches not getting done. If this is the intention of the TrOs, then so be it.

I think another 7 days would be sufficient, but any extension would be helpful

while i stated in chat that i should be able to get them done, it would be so much better to have the extra week

Make that +2. If Trials is delayed a week, so is the start of Trenzalore, and perhaps elk's event as well.

Personally I think that it is doable if you get organised. Some times are harder to connect up but isn't high organisation a mark of a good master?

Having said that, a lot of people probably have far more opponents than I (6) so whatever the crowd / TrOs want is fine, but when I saw the phase I thought "24 games in 2 weeks? wow, that's a lot with 2 jobs..." But actually organising them around my schedule, and powering through them is giving me a sense of accomplishment and keeps the event fresh. The longer it drags on, the less of an 'Epic Trial' it is in my opinion.

-1 game could be worth lots of points. -1 opponent is worth too many points to be argued against the organization of a master. If you couldn't meet up with me, and only I was active and trying hard to find a time for us both to meet up, should I be denied the points of the games I could've potentially won against you? Are you trying to answer that question with "Yes, because high organization is a mark of a good master,"? Or would it be more fair to give trialists more time to get out the games, and award the points respectfully?

That is how I perceived your stance. If that is the case, then TrO's could've given trialists a very short amount of time, 3 days (an example) and then made matches more important so a trialists time and organization has more value. However, if my argument is also taken to an extreme, then phase 2 could never end until everyone finished their matches, but would probably stop after 1 month max.

So my conclusion/suggestion is that TrO's could come up with an arbitrary number of unfinished matches, and if 1 day before the end of the deadline the number of unfinished matches is equel to their arbitrary number, the extend it by however long that think the remaining matches should take. This is just my idea/conclusion/suggestion, but I'll let the TrO's do their job. I'm not trying argue with jonathan, I'm just speaking my thoughts and would love if jonathan PM'd me if my perceptions were right or wrong. :P

I don't think a full week more is needed, but  24-48 hours extra would be nice.

For most people in Americas the timer ends in the early AM (6AM local for myself) on a Sunday. For some people with large spread time zones between opponents it may be useful to have that extra Sunday morning/afternoon to play the match if the opponent can only play in their local afternoon/evening time.

Just my thoughts on the extra time discussion.

One week extension granted for Phase 2. You have until June 7th to get your matches done. The schedule in OP has been updated to reflect this change.

For matches:
Match time is over

We hope that this will be in the best interests of ALL Trialists. Root, perhaps you can start sign-ups sooner? I personally don't think there should be much conflict of the first rounds of you event with Final Battles, but you should be able to start before 12 Lives ends I think.

My deck checker (http://etg.dek.im/vanilla/trials.htm) now includes all in-element bans!

Let me know if you find any problems with it, or if any part of is inconsistent with the rules.

dark ripper has withdrawn from Trials due to personal reasons, and Captain Scibra has remained inactive for a long time. So we are removing them both from trials, and to prevent more hassle on the part of STANDIN, will be awarding free wins to all their remaining opponents. Each of their opponents with matches remaining against them  will receive a win in each match they were supposed to play against them, but will also have to give up an instance of an element in their element pool. The element chosen for this should be posted after Phase 2 matches end.

If Captain Scibra returns before the end of Phase 2 and wishes to continue with Trials, then he will be able to play his matches.

Also, note that Physsi's bonus points have been awarded! Thanks to all those who put in their efforts in Phase 1, hope you enjoy the rewards!

So, if people have already played against them and lost, aren't they at a disadvantage to people who have not played against them, and therefore been granted free wins?
Obviously this only applies if the two players in question are in the same element.
I also haven't checked if this scenario is actually applicable, sorry if that's not the case.

Only games completed by them is ian's in-element 9 game series vs rippy. Since ian is operating under single-trialist rules, his games are considered differently than others. If I missed any, feel free to contact me!

What is the situation with Captain Scibra? I see he hasn't been active since may 22, and apparently forfeited to Ginyu...
