First Use (As Far As I Know, Anyways): War 11, killsdazombies vs ProBacon
This deck was built to fill the role of a stall in Team Gravity, who didn't have many options beforehand other than a stall using Heavy Armor, Gravity Shield and Basilisk's Blood and maybe Adrenastaves. And it does it well so as long as you get the right draw. Once you get enough RoLs on the screen you're able to block all damage that isn't spell, momentum, or catapult damage. An advantage this has over a regular RoL Hope build is that the deck doesn't have to worry about any pesky shields that could block out all damage during the burst. Like many RoL Hopes its weaknesses are mass CC, shield bypass, Nightmare, bigger stalls, and bad draws (Though the last two apply to most other decks anyways).
Brief summary of each of their matches:- vs ProBacon: The dark domin they brought was theoretically a hard counter, but bad draws on Bacon's end gave Gravity the win.
- vs Vangelios: Pretty even matchup, especially when accounting for the fact that Vangelios brought Thorn Carapace to get rid of some RoLs. Some smart plays on mathman's end allowed him to win 3-2
- vs deuce22: The deck deuce brought was a hard counter to Charger Hope. A lone Nightmare was packed to prevent a lot of RoLs to be played, and Momentum with PU provided a good bypass method to overwhelm Charger Hope. This resulted in a 0-3 loss.
- vs moerphi: Heavily countered by SoFree, which we didn't realize they had at that point. Also, we didn't think to try and counter Thunderstorm in the case it happened.
A couple of possible changes (not already in serpex's Troll Hope guide for all Elements) include adding 2-3 copies of Lobotomizer, including Silence to prevent Miracles from happening before the finishing blow, and maybe a Titan.
Overall, this deck is a welcome addition to Gravity's arsenal. It provides another deck to an archetype Gravity is lacking in, and allows for a way to make exploiting Gravity's slower decks harder. This means that matchups against rush decks are slightly easier for Team Gravity, as long as they mindgate the right decks. However, it makes them slightly weaker to mass CC.
