8th Trials - Phase 3 Community Vote [Entropy] https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=55437.msg1151077#msg1151077

Phase 3 - Community Vote

It's time to vote for your favorite Master candidate!  Every community member has one vote. You can change your vote at any time as long as there is still time on the clock.

Vote based on who you think would make the best Master of that element. Do not vote based on who is the best player or who you know personally. Try to pick someone who you think would help the community the most as THE representative for their element.  If you do not have any preference for who should be Master, or cannot decide between the candidates, please select the "None Worthy" option.

To help you make the best decision possible, feel free to ask the candidates questions.  Both challengers and defending Masters ought to answer the questions in this thread to help the voters make the best possible choice.  Please put all your answers in a single post (employing spoiler tags is recommended).  Also, challengers should include in that post a link to your Phase 1 submission post.

Questions and answers may begin now that this topic is posted.
Voting will begin when the polls are up at the official start of Phase 3.
Phase 3 ends when poll expires.

Hi, I am Calindu, the current master of entropy.

Questions and answers

Spoiler for vrt:
How does your toaster shark a spoon galloping?

Pretty well.

Spoiler for serprex:
Calindu: Last Trials you said "I am usually a lucky person" yet last War you had the second worse Entropy performance ever. Who do you throw under the bus for the poor performance? nb If you throw yourself under the bus or some other whimp out answer, I'm voting dripper. I don't care how bad those last rounds vs Gravity were, don't blame RNG

I consider you know well the causes we didn't do as good, first we lost our interest after the bad round, then most of us started to be kinda inactive, with 1 full inactive. From there on we struggled to get the stuff done as 2-3 members in the last 24 hours most of the time. It isn't about luck, even if with a better one we had a good chance to get a top 4 spot, it was about that really bad round that demoralized us, like in 2 wars ago when a good round motivated us for a good war.

How intent are you on getting dragonsdemesne on your team in War?

Yes.

How intent would you be on getting treebeard_xiii on your team in War?

Nope.

What's a card idea that could be added to Entropy that'd embody thermodynamic entropy more than informatic entropy?

I don't follow card ideas, in fact I hate CIA board.

Spoiler for ji412jo:
Paul has two apples and 3 ponies. What does it add up to?

3 ponies for a week :(

Spoiler for TribalTrouble:
What has been the most entropy-filled moment in your time here as a part of EC.org?

Some CL when I suddenly started to win, actually starting to get good.

What deck do you think best exemplifies what Entropy is all about?

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vj 4vj 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u5 6u5 6u5 713 715 74f 74f 74f 77g 77g 7ah 7dq 7gm 7ju 7mu 7t9 7t9 80a 80g 8pj

Making your opponent life miserable while you finish the game before they can react.

Spoiler for Kakerlake:
What are the most trollish cards of Entropy that new players have to watch out for?

Discord

?
So um... what's your favorite pony?

Rainbow Dash!

Spoiler for Submachine:
Question for Calindu:

You have been very inactive lately, even regarding staff work. What insurance can you give us now that you won't disappear if you'll become Master of Entropy?

So far, in about 3-4 years, I ever disappeared? Maybe I won't be as active as before, but I still login daily. I may not post or come in chat as often as before, but I still lurk around.

Question for all Entropy Candidates:

Will you join the upcoming tournament - Tame The Randomness - as a tribute to your favorite element?

No, I plan to join a tourney, but not with those kind of rules.

Spoiler for theelkspeaks:
To both candidates: What are the 3 most useful/powerful non-nymph cards in :entropy?

Discord
Nova
Antimatter

What 2 non-entropy cards work best in :entropy duos?

Black Hole
Graboid

Spoiler for Laxadarap:
Realistically, do you think you can topple aether? Whats so new/not new this time (more important part)?

I feel entropy can, 2 wars ago we did really good against aether, but it wasn't enough, and last war we just crashed mid war.

Spoiler for Rutarete:
To all: Which element do you think would fare the best against an alien invasion?

Anything with mass-CC to kill all of them in the same time, this includes entropy :p.

Spoiler for hainkarga:
What comes out of chaos according to Scottish rite ? Do you agree ? Why ?

Have no idea.
No idea if I agree
I have no idea if I agree because I have no idea what this is.

Spoiler for Frozengaia:
Dear all entropy triallists:

Entropy is an element that holds a place in my metaphorical heart for being the element that has the most affinity with me (Old people flavoured ice cream prostitutes anyone?) Even though I don't like entropy... Too much. I love it in some ways, but the other ways... Eh.

Other than mutate, chaos seed, pandemonium and singularity, what is the most exciting thing about entropy? Why is it so fun for you?

Pandemonium is the only thing exciting from what you said, Nova and Discord are both exciting because they're both really strong, so is AM because it turns matches around. It's fun because you win early game with Discord and Nova speed in certain decks and you can turn around with 1 card(often AM, Pande, Dissipation Shield, Nymph).

Spoiler for Rutarete:
Tell us about yourself in a scenario that ends in "I AM BECOME ENTROPY!"

Trials 6, I win entropy trials after a hard fought match with kev, finishing 5-4, I AM BECOME ENTROPY!. The end.

Spoiler for farscape:
Question to all candidates (challengers and old master too):

If I apply to participate in War, would you bid on me, and max how many cards ?  :-*

I have no idea who you are, so probably not. There's no maximum amount anyone can bid for you my friend, we'll use our mastercards.

My wonderful answers to your meh questions:

Spoiler for All you need to know about me:
Hello, Im dark ripper, you can call me as you please. Im an 18 greek that just finished high school and waits to know if he is gonna enter Bio Uni. I first joined October 20th 2013. Although I firstly played the game at the summer of 09' (song reference, get it?) I was dumb enough not to search for a forum. At those 10 months Ive been here, Ive tried to approach people and I got addicted to this wonderful place. Joining trials was not an easy decision as I have yet to join a war but I did due to the tons of experience Im going to gain, and who knows? After all I might be worthy enough. If you have any question you might as well make it and Id be more than happy to reply!

Spoiler for vrt:
How does your toaster shark a spoon galloping?
Through a series of autocatastrophic actions which aim to the selfdestruction of the toaster itself! Yes, that is true. This complex procedure will lead the spoon to gallop.

Dripper: You've never participated in War. Why should you be General? Sorry for the easy question

Both:
How intent are you on getting dragonsdemesne on your team in War?
How intent would you be on getting treebeard_xiii on your team in War?
& something fun: What's a card idea that could be added to Entropy that'd embody thermodynamic entropy more than informatic entropy?
1st. I love entropy from the first day I started elements. I dont know why, I dont care why, I just do. It was not the easiest decision to join trials, as my biggest fear was actually winning them and finding my self suddenly with many responsibilities, like having to lead a team. Frankly, if I wasnt ready(psychologically) to lead a team I would have never joined trials. Having as my example Zeru, the first entropy general, and MatrimKK, I believe with a great deal of work I can achieve anything. Of course, I would do my best not only to decently lead my team, but to win war. If its meant for me to start my war experience as a general, why not? :D

2nd. Believe it or not, dragons along with vaggers are the two members I would firstly try to approach to join my team! I would definately sacrifice 7 underaged virgin pink ponies for both of them to pick me. 14 bids are going without saying if it comes to it. I hope Ii could be in a team with them.

3rd. Tree is a person that I consider a friend of mine and a great member and a PvPer. Currently he says he loves water more than entropy. If he doesnt win water trials, then he would definately be one of my targets:D

4th. That is an intresting one. How about this?

Some notes: For every permanent played by any player, one upped pandemonium is triggered. This is how entropy really works. In an isolated system, every action leads to destruction. I could be wrong though:P

Spoiler for ji412jo:
To all entropy trialists

Spoiler for TribalTrouble:
To all entropy trialists:
What has been the most entropy-filled moment in your time here as a part of EC.org?
What deck do you think best exemplifies what Entropy is all about?
1st. Entropy filled moment, hmmm, if you talk about randomness Ill have to say when I first joined here where I knew noone here and started spamming the chat for acquintances. If you talk about self destruct kind of entropy, about a couple of months before, after a serious streak of failed tourneys that I was very sad and even thought about just stopping playing tournies. If you talk about something else, please explain :P

2nd. Many, would expect a deck like twin mutants or a sosebow
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vj 4vj 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u4 6u4 6u4 6u4 6u4 6u4 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 80b 80b 80b 80b 80b 80b 8pu

but not me. I conceive entropy as an element with the purpose of manipulating the opponent. Take control of the game and win.

Spoiler for Kakerlake:
Entropy is all about RNG, RNG is a troll.

What are the most trollish cards of Entropy that new players have to watch out for?

meh. and there I didn't want to ask trialists about their element. :/

So um... what's your favorite pony?
Well, most troll-ish entropy cards are pandemonium and discord, both of them can ruin or make your day :D

My favourite pony??
<--- rided by me! d'uuh!

Spoiler for Blacksmith:
To all trialists.

You are both very promising and good targets for mastership. What do you think is important for a master? what wouldn't make one a good master and what is the ideal master?
A true master first of all, should know everything(or at least as much as possible) about the element he or she represents. That knowledge being interprented in action as well and not only words. They should be able to advice and guide anyone who needs help regarding the element either that is a deck, strategy or a card.
Those being said about the master. Now imho, the master should take the responsibility and honor to lead his element to war by being a general. A master should never count just to their or their teammates PvP skills. He/she should take into consideration every possible factor and look at any objective from every angle.
Now what makes a master not being worthy enough? Being a master says you are worthy enough by itself. The only thing that gets to cancel that is inactivity due to any reason.

Spoiler for Submachine:

Question for dark ripper:

You seem to rely too much on Discord. If Discord wouldn't be an Entropy card, would you still go for Entropy Mastership? Also, why do you rely so much on Discord?

Question for all Entropy Candidates:

Will you join the upcoming tournament - Tame The Randomness - as a tribute to your favorite element?
That is not true, I dont rely on discord. I would say I dont rely on discord at all. What bothers me that discord takes too much heatred which led to it being banned from almost every tourney and events. Discord is a powerful card, a powerful weapon on entropy's arsenal. It is a part of entropy. Some people would equalize this ban as the ban of dimensional shield. You see the versatility of aether without dim shield is reduced, but entropy's is getting demolished. It becomes easier predictable.
Anyway, ofcourse I would still trial for entropy without discord! I just love to use it! :D

Cmon Sub, dont you know Im gonna be there for the tourney? (that is if I wake up in time :P )

Spoiler for theelkspeaks:
To both candidates: What are the 3 most useful/powerful non-nymph cards in :entropy?  What 2 non-entropy cards work best in :entropy duos?
Most powerful card is of course discord, this goes without an explanation. As a second one I would place Antimatter. It is a powerful spell which not only stops every none immortal(or SoFr'd) creature but it works as a healing spell as well. In the third place, it is nova. Nova is the key to rainbow rushes. Almost none unupgraded rush can work without nova, and all of that cause of entropy :D

The 1st is the most obvious. Black Hole. DBH is just too powerful not too mention!
The 2nd one is a personal favourite. Steal. Provides entropy with instant PC and exists in perhaps the most powerful duo of entropy's the darkness/entropy one.

Spoiler for Laxadarap:
Realistically, do you think you can topple aether? Whats so new/not new this time (more important part)?
Maybe the fact that I am a war newb can turn out to be good. I mean, I dont know about the war prejudices between elements(in action) and maybe I can fare better like this. On matters of toppling aether, of course entropy can do it. Has done it before. We need an active team(which of course I will be responsible to make) that can communicate with each other well and most of all being a team and not trying to win games by individual talent.
~Maybe what's new is just the fresh blood! :D

Spoiler for Rutarete:
To all: Which element do you think would fare the best against an alien invasion?
Entropy would unite all elements and kick the crap out of the aliens!

Spoiler for hainkarga:
What comes out of chaos according to Scottish rite ? Do you agree ? Why ?
Although Ive heard about the Scottish Rite somewhere, I dont have a full opinion about it. So I will take my chances and say maybe freedom or salvation?

Personally for me, after chaos comes self-awarness. Cant really say more, dont have practical experience.

By thing you mean card? What exactly is your question? Why I like entropy so much? I like control game and entropy provides many cards with controling abilities. If you mean what makes entropy more exciting than other elements, that is personal preferences.

Spoiler for Malignant:

Spoiler for farscape:
Question to all candidates (challengers and old master too):

If I apply to participate in War, would you bid on me, and max how many cards ?  :-*
Arent you a light supporter?:P

Well that is really relative. It depends on many things. First of all, war rules. Will they remain the same? Will the number of war team members remain the same? If the answer is yes, and you put entropy as one of your 3 favourite elements, then of course you will be a target. But even like this, other factors exist. As Odii mentioned the best combination for a player is activity and then skill. Those should be taken seriously into account. If you have both of the things required then your "price" will rise!

Question for Calindu:

You have been very inactive lately, even regarding staff work. What insurance can you give us now that you won't disappear if you'll become Master of Entropy?

Question for dark ripper:

You seem to rely too much on Discord. If Discord wouldn't be an Entropy card, would you still go for Entropy Mastership? Also, why do you rely so much on Discord?

Question for all Entropy Candidates:

Will you join the upcoming tournament - Tame The Randomness - as a tribute to your favorite element?
And we keep driving into the night
It's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye...
