TIME TO ENTER THE TRIALS
PHASE 1 DONE

:entropybig

Please make sure you've read the Rules very carefully. Also, here are the Phase 1 Rules for information on Phase 1 tasks.

To join these Trials, post in this thread a single post containing the following information:

Spoiler for Phase 1:
-Name of Task
-Evidence of completion

Spoiler for War Bonus:
-Evidence of participation/WMing last war
-If you were a General, and were in the same War team as the element you are trialing for, evidence of your General-ship

Spoiler for Loyalty Bonus:
-Tell us how many times you have participated in Trials for this element before
-Give us evidence of your participation in each of those trials

You can find more information on the Phase 1 tasks in the Phase 1 Rules.

Note: In the event more there are more than four challengers for one element, priority will be given first to players with the higher Phase 1 scores and second to a combination of score/post count.

Challengers:

    Spoiler for Phase 1:
    Writing
    Spoiler for Storytime:
Once upon a time there was a universe full of stars, galaxies and planets teeming with life.

    Deckbuilding
    Spoiler for Hidden:
This is Calindu's deck from 11th Trials' Final as a STANDIN against iancu. It is able to deliver T5 victories
on a regular basis, even T4s are frequent. In testings we even had a T3 victory.

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
    Deck import code : [Select]
    4vh 4vh 4vh 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 626 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 71a 74a 74a 7ee 7ee 7ee 7ee 7ee 7q1 7q1 80m 80m 80m 80m 8pj

The counter is very easy. Just make a significantly worse deck and watch as your opponent gets the worst rng of the century. :sillyspin:

The main problem with the deck that it is a pure glass cannon. Any shield can mean a great problem, especially Wings.
Even the smallest amount of CC can mean a serious setback. If your opponent plays a domin/control you will be very
    cautious with those SoBras.

AM+Wings would be a great idea, but somehow AM'd creatures don't hit through Wings (strange, since it works for most of the shields),
so that idea is dropped. Let's stick to a CC-fest. Pure damage CC like Lightning might be a solution, but CP can trick it with a random,
huge hp boost. So let's stick to delay spells like BB and Congeal. They are cheap and effective. You can go BB/Warden or Congeal/Octopus.
I went with octis, since 4 turns > 1 turns, plus I can add SoPa as well. And let's mix Purple Nymphs in, because hey, it is an :entropy duo deck!

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
    Deck import code : [Select]
    500 500 500 500 5i7 5i7 5i7 5i7 5j2 5j2 6ts 6ts 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 7gn 7gn 7gr 7gr 7gr 7gr 8pp

Since you have 6 instant CC cards and 8 CC creatures it is very hard to lose due to rng failure. Tons of quanta helps fast deployment/skill usage
of those creatures. Your opponent possibly won't even use SoBras, since 1-2 congeal can spell his/her doom.

    Cardmaking
    Spoiler for Legendary card:
    NAME:
    Doom
    ELEMENT:
    Thermal Equilibrium
    COST:
    10
    TYPE:
    Spell
    ATK | HP:
    n.a.
    TEXT:
    Damage sources get equally distributed
on the two fields: players will have the
    exact same damage per turn.
    NAME:
    Heat Death of Universe
    ELEMENT:
    Entropy
    COST:
    75
    TYPE:
    Spell
    ATK | HP:
    n.a.
    TEXT:
Standstill: creatures' stats turn to 0|X,
    skills lost, permanents stop working,
HP statuses erased, cards turn into relics.

    ART:
    Thermal Equilibrium: self-made.
Heat Death of Universe: first neutrino detection.
    IDEA:
Combining my physical chemistry knowledge with Elements' concept of :entropy .
    NOTES:
In thermal equilibrium nothing really interesting happens, since the system reached
its lowest possible energy state (between the current circumstances). The typical
example to show how a thermal equilibrium is reached when you have two interconnected
boxes and these boxes has different temperatures - which means the particles has
different average energy in those boxes. When the boxes get connected those particles
start to mingle with each other, hitting, bumping etc. and through these interactions they will
all have the same average energy. This will also mean that from this point we cannot make the
system to perform any work for us.

Translating this to Elements. One player has X damage, the other has Y, let's average
out the two! For example if a player has two Bone Dragons on the field, and one Arsenic
in the weapon slot, and the other has no creatures and no weapon, then due to this card
one of the Bone Dragons travel to the other side, and the Arsenic gets copied. Even the
poison counter gets copied to the other player. Of course, there can be trickier situations
(having an odd number of creatures on the field, different creatures and so on), but let it
be the problem of the programmers. :-) It is a nice stall card with an aggressive trick:
let your opponent taste its own medicine! :)

The Heat Death of Universe is an extreme version of the latter. This concept shows
a possible fate of our universe. After a very loooong period (10^100 years) even the
black holes evaporate and all that's left in the universe are aimlessly wandering
neutrinos, photons, electron, positrons and dark matter. Traditional interactions cease
to exist (maybe except for the occasional bondings between electrons and positrons
to form short-lived positroniums). This is the true thermal equilibrium for the whole
universe, the absolute lowest possible energy state, and of course the highest level
of entropy reachable. As H.P. Lovecraft put it: "And with strange aeons even death may die."

Translating this to Elements. This is the ultimate stall card. Once you drew it you have won
    - automatically (if you have more cards than your opponent). Creatures, permanents,
poison etc. cannot do any further damage. You cannot introduce new cards, since
they just turned into relics. Accumulated quanta disappears, and you cannot produce it
anymore. However, you have to reach maximum :entropy to be able to play this card.

This card is the perfect metaphor, the epitome of what will happen to this game
at the end of this year.
    SERIES:
Card Design Competition: 14th Trials, legendary card of your element.

    Spoiler for War Bonus:
    General of :entropy last War.

Might as well go for it one last time.

I probably won't be bothering with the Phase 1 trash though.
