Mark of earth:
The ability to use one of the best marks in the game, yes please.

Tier 1

Digging:
Electrum forms the backbone for WoE and with Digging, you can easily get piles of it,

(and quickly too, since it is tier 1 skill).

TUnnel Rat:
Another backbone of WoE is travel, and being able to do it quicker then others is

another great ability. With Tunnel rat, a huge distance of 24 hexes, would only take

you a trifle 8 rounds.

Bane of Air:
A bit situational, and IMO the worst of the tier 1 skills. But if you could exploit

this by going after air players only, you could be an XP gaining machine.

Armorsmith:
The third backbone of WoE is the battling it self, and with the extra shields that

this ability provides, alongside the stallish nature of earth, can make you a force to

be reckoned with.

Improved Fortify:
Gaining more upped cards is already an immense plus and synergizes well with the rest

of the abilities.

Tier 1 synergies
Digging + Improved Fortify + Armorsmith:
2 of these skills allow you to gain extra cards, while one allows you to gain upped

cards, together they make you force.

Bane Of Air + Above:
Since the above will improve your versatility and power in offence, when mixed with

bane of air, you will be gaining more XP as well.

Tunnel Rat + Bane of Air:
Bane of Air requires you to attack an air player, well Tunnel rat can get you near

them in a pinch to get that extra bit of XP.

Tier 2

Mining: Relics are very important in this game since they are required to get some of

the best cards in earth. Pulveriser, Graboid, Titanium shield, and Basalisk Blood, all

require the use of relics to be made.

Build a mine:
As we do not know what "Mines" do yet, I can't critique it very well yet. But the

extra XP would help.

Tremors:
Elite Shrieker is one of the best cards earth has to offer, plus the fact that it is

upgraded makes this ability an absolute must.

Deadly Fortify:
This makes any player out there hesitant to attack an earth player. Since cards allow

for better deckbuilding this ability makes sure that anyone who loses to you, won't

recover quickly.

Tier 2 synergies

Deadly Fortify + Tremors:
Tremors makes you more difficult to defeat, while deadly fortify, makes it so your

opponent will be severely injured upon loss.

Tier 3
Expert Miner:
This can be used amazingly alongside Tunnel rat, and allows you to gain even more XP.

Crystal Golem:
My favorite of all the skills and ridicuolously powerful as well. With this, deadly

fortify, and improved fortify become even more powerful.

(Tier 3's abilities do not synergize with each other but greatly with the rest of the

skills in other tiers)

Tier 3 + Tier 2 Synergies

Crystal Golem + Deadly Fortify + Tremors:
Now anyone attacking you, will be suffering greatly on a loss. And the loss is almost assured thanks to Tremors's upgrades.

Tier 3 + Tier 1 Synergies

Expert Miner + Tunnel Rat + Bane of Air:
Expert Mine allows you to use Tunnel rat from almost anywhere, which in turn allows you to get near air players, and exploit Bane of Air.

Crystal Golem + Improved Fortify:
These two used together insure you 6 upped cards every time you are attacked.

CHAMPION SKILL

Crystalize: Astoundingly powerful as you can now prevent anyone from leaving or

entering, thereby, securing your teamates, or trapping enemy forces. Very powerful,

but maybe not enough for a champion skill. I would recomend something like, Extreme FOrtification: If attacked while fortified, your entire vault upgrades.

Explanations of skills have been done before. Those are no longer needed. In order to be more helpful instead of repeating the same things in other guides, my WoE skill description will be different – I will list skill builds and strategies to be used in the actual game.

There are two main skill paths in the Earth skill tree. The first one is built on making money and fast travel, with the skills Digging, Tunnel Rat, Mining, Build a Mine, and Expert Miner. These skills work together because you can move around the map quickly while making money and creating Mines and Tunnels to further your income. This build allows you to have a ton of electrum, allowing to buy many cards that you want as well as help out your team buy whatever they need. The other build is focused on defense and having an advantage over other players in PvP. The skills Improved Fortify, Deadly Fortify, Crystal Golem, and Champion of Earth belong in this skill path. This path allows you to have extra upgraded cards in a fight and a bonus if you win. The Champion of Earth skill is especially deadly – You can trap opposing players and force them to fight you when you have the advantage.

The Armorsmith skill is a helpful ability that allows you to expand your team’s deck strategies by creating rare shields. An Earth team member could use this skill in synergy with the other crafting spells and the economic/fast travel Earth skills. A possible skill build is “The Alchemist,” a player that focuses on money and creating rare cards to benefit his or her team. The skills would be Digging and Mining to generate electrum and relics, Tunnel Rat and Expert Miner to travel quickly through the map in order to collect more cards, electrum, and the crafting skills (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,17354.0.html#post_crafting). You will need to learn the specialized crafting skills of each element at that respective element’s Trainer, so fast travel is essential. This skill build will create huge advantages for your team in terms of PvP. They will gain access to rare cards of all forms and have huge strategic superiority over the other elements.

Another skill build is “The Peddler,” a player that focuses on electrum and obtaining huge sums of it. All the skills in the economic/fast travel Earth skill path mentioned above are needed, as well as Bargaining, Improved Trading, and Smuggler from the Underworld skill trees. Other money-making abilities such as Trade Routes in the Water skill set could be used, or you could focus the rest of your skill points on other paths to strengthen your character.

The Peddler and Alchemist skill builds work very well together. Teamwork is essential to WoE, and these skill builds will give a huge advantage to any team that has players with them. With one of each on a team, the whole team has access to any buyable card because of the Peddler’s electrum stash, and access to all rare cards because of the Alchemist’s abilities. The rest of players could focus on other important skill builds, such as PvP.

Speaking of PvP, Earth’s other skill path previously unexplored will focus on just that. As Earth is a more defensive elements, the skills give advantage to Earth elementals that are defending against other players. An Earth player using fortify with Improved Fortify and Deadly Fortify can use double upgraded cards as well as cause defeated opponents to discard twice as many cards. The Crystal Golem also helps because it saves AP that would be used to be in a fortified stance, allowing the AP to be used in different ways.

Ready for another lame name? “The Basilisk” skill build specializes in PvP that is both offensive and defensive. Skills used: the aforementioned skills, as well as Tremors, and any other skills (Earth or non-Earth) that the player decides are useful with this build. This versatile player can take on any situation and have a predetermined lead over his/her opponents. A Basilisk can attack a city or other players using Tremors to boost the power of his/her deck, the Fortification skills to fend off any attacking opponents, and an off-element skill like Holy War that will give additional advantages. The Champion of Earth skill is good to use when facing an opposing army with a large amount of players. Trap all of your opponents in one hex, then go into a fortified stance that gives you the upper hand and penalizes your victims.

With these three skill builds focusing on Earth skills, a well-rounded team that used teamwork will have an easy time defeating their opponents, and have fun doing it.

WoE Feedback

Tier 1:
Mark of Earth:
Basic skill as every element has it.
The ability to use a time mark would probably be better for earth players, but the additional upgraded card surely might make a difference.

Tier 2:
Digging:
On the first glance it seems like a nice skill: Skip a round to gain Electrum.
But depending on the Electrum gain from the Earth kingdom and the market prices, this skill seems rather pointless.
In the beginning, everyone will most likely focus on gaining experiance as fast as possible, skipping a couple of turns would probably be a bad idea since players on a lower level will have a disadvantage.
Also, because of the 60 cards beginners pool, you can build a pretty good deck directly off the start. No need to buy more things.
In the late game, the skill is again pointless, since then one has normally already learnt Mining if one needs to stock up on electrum.
My suggestion to improve Digging would be to add a +1 exp for digging.

Tunnel Rat:
Seems like a nice way to travel. May be a little inferior to other movement abilities, but there is no need to change it.

Bane of Air:
Defenitely a great skill!
This will stir up the war between the opposing elements, but at the same time, it might reduce the motivation to fight other elements.
My suggestion would be, to add +1 exp for every beaten opponent you are in war with and another +1 if that one is from Air. (applies to the same skill of all elements)

Armorsmith:
Perfectly placed in Earth.
Earth doesn't have any skills that influence other players, so they get an advantage by being able to use whatever shields they like.
Might be a bit unbalanced when other elements aren't able to get a hand on some shields but I doubt that will happen.

Improved Fortify:
Again, a perfect skill.
Only problem I see is for players that don't have that many upgraded cards to use them.
A random idea that just popped into my head would be, that you can either choose to use upgraded cards, or deny your opponent that many upgraded cards.
If however you can't use those upped cards anyway (like battling vs. champion of death) you can only deny as many upped cards as you might play.

Tier 3:
Mining:
The better version of Digging, though you have to skip a whole turn for this one.
Again, I'd suggest to add +1 exp.

Build a Mine:
Default building skill.
That's probably the first thing earth will be aiming for. whatever those mines give, it's best to have lots of it.

Tremors:
Perfect skill for having a bunch of heavy hitters.
The only problem would be when you don't have any way to produce :time.
But by the time one reaches level 3, this shouldn't pose any problem.

Deadly Fortify:
Get Bane of Air, go to the Air country and place yourself with Fortify somewhere.
You WILL get attacked and you will have the advantage and Air people will get annoyed :D
If this skill stacks with the darkness skill Backstabbing, winning 2-0 will obliterate the card pool of someone.

Tier 4:
Expert Miner:
In the first glance this seems to be inferior to other elements Tier 4 skills, since it doesn't really support your own fightingskills.
But building a tunnel at some places will allow your whole team to gain exp faster and increase the overall movement.
Since I think this skill is at the same time too strong and too weak, it must be perfectly placed.

Crystal Golem:
Saves 2 AP each time you are attacked, so it is very useful for warfare!

Tier 5:
Champion of Earth:
This skill seems to be broken.
With this, one is able to stun all the players in the same hex as long as you want to, until they attack you (where you get a major advantage). Would be nice, but:
You are now able to kill the fun of the game for any earth player in the same hex. Being stunned or lose reputation? meh.

My suggestion is to change the skill completely.
Either with "When you lose a battle, you discard only half of the cards.", "Whenever you have to discard a card, discard 3 less" (making skills like Sniper or Exploding Heart useless), "When you move on any mountain or hill, you have a xx% chance to find a relic and 100 electrum" or "When you attack, you get the Fortify bonus as well"

Also, for those of you following the last Earth Trials, there was a bit of, er, call it "Technical Difficulty" with my article there, and I said I'd redo it. Here it is: http://elementswiki.co.cc/articles/passive-abilities/

I think I misspelled "Abilities" every time I typed it there. I caught most I think but GG was kind enough to fix some that I missed, apparently.

I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

However, it doesn't count symbols (+) and those mean "and", so you got full credit. Beware though, next time do you word checking with http://www.wordcounttool.com/ . Symbols have no place in quality articles anyways, so there will be no exceptions like these in future Trials.
