Spoiler for vrt:
Dear candiddles,

What's your favorite death metal band?
I don't really listen to death metal, and thus can't give you a satisfying answer, but after a quick youtube visit, I say Mercenary.

Spoiler for ji412jo:
To all death trialists

Do you fear the Reaper
Of course not. In a sense, you could say I *am* the reaper.  :o

Spoiler for TribalTrouble:
What has been your most death-defying act?
Good question. Nothing comes to mind, I'm afraid, but if I think of something I will edit it here.

Spoiler for serprex:
You're all too cheery for Death

Who would you vote for between your two opponents?
In the case of a tie between you all I'll probably vote None Worthy
I would vote rob.

Spoiler for Laxadarap:
Realistically, do you think you can topple aether? Whats so new this time?  (same question for every trials except aether of course)
No deuce. Also, since auction went crazy last war and most players got highest possible bid, unless the same thing happens again the auction is going to be more important and it will be more likely that the best players will actually be more expensive than the no-so-best (no offense to anyone here). Also, no deuce.
Spoiler for dragonsdemesne:
Do you think shard of sacrifice is overpowered?
Yes, probably. Together with SoD it can make you basically invincible, and the only direct counter is Purify, a single card.

Spoiler for hainkarga:
I would like to give a task to candidates, this will effect my vote if you are interested. Fully listen to Isle of the dead by Rachmaninov and tell me what this music made you feel.
Pretty damn epic.

Spoiler for ARTHANASIOS :
@fippe: What are the 3 most UP :death cards and why?
Skeleton: Basically its only use are to combo with RT and that is not a really viable combo.
Virus: Better, but still only has limited use. It's good with death effect decks, but otherwise plague is a better option.
Aflatoxin: Not really a bad card, but needs specific cards/combos to work properly.

Spoiler for CrockettRocket:
Dang... all three of you I find to be very smart individuals.

So to all three of you: How do you think you could help your teammates be better deck building wise and/or task building wise in war and/or brawl?
Both of these things are not (always and necessarily) made individually, but together. By working together with more experienced players and getting/giving feedback, you will always get better. Learn by watching and learn by experience.

Spoiler for dark ripper:
What would you consider the worst way to die?
Hmm- I am (like most people) not a fan of pain, so something very painful would be the worst way to die. Something like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slow_slicing

Spoiler for Odii Odsen:
to Fippe: How important was your role in the last war? Do you think you can lead a team to victory? Do you think you can do it better than rob?
Difficult question. I don't really remember it all, and it is hard to judge ones importance in a team like that imo. I lost a bit interest at the last part, but apart from thaT (I'd like to think at least) I think I did a good job, prviding ideas and feedback on most decks/matchups. I hope that we will have enough to be able to win War, and while I cannot (yet) be sure I am the best person to lead  team in War, I will certsinly do my best. Getting a few other good players on the team will be my first action, and together we will defeat all.

Spoiler for farscape:
Question to all candidates (challengers and old master too):

If I apply to participate in War, would you bid on me, and max how many cards ?  :-*
I don't know, and no decided maximum. Sorry for the bad answer, but I don't really want to say anything until I know who will apply and read everyone's War app.

Spoiler for TribalTrouble:
To all candidates

Death: You're doing it right.

Spoiler for Submachine:
Gee, dude, you are already a co-developer of openEtG and a Council member. And now you're going for mastership?! Don't you think you're overloading yourself? ;)
Short answer: lolno
Longer answer: Eh, not really. None of the tree things takes enough time to give up anything else.

I am not dead ;) (outside of Elemental affinity, of course) so I will be providing responses and answers to address items posited here.  There will be simple placeholders for the time being...

Note: I have voted for myself as I consider myself worthy and have confidence to win (hence most worthy).

Spoiler for vrt:
Dear candiddles,

What's your favorite death metal band?
I am not a listener of death metal.  If Gwar is considered death metal, then I'll go with them by virtue of interesting-band-name-that-I-happen-to-know.

Spoiler for ji412jo:
To all death trialists

Do you fear the Reaper
I do not fear the Reaper.

Spoiler for TribalTrouble:
What has been your most death-defying act?
An afternoon of cliff-diving at Table Rock Lake is probably top of my un-exciting list of death defying moments.  Also, pick any weekend during my time in college where I don't remember anything between sundown and waking up at noon with a killer hangover... yet somehow alive and kicking!

Spoiler for serprex:
You're all too cheery for Death

Who would you vote for between your two opponents?
In the case of a tie between you all I'll probably vote None Worthy
I would vote for Fippe94 based on his head-to-head win vs. Root (recent history) along with a history that goes back a couple Wars generating a high-level of EtG-respect for Fippe.  I have nothing against Root, however (I see on the forums here Root is withdrawing his candidacy for Death master, too).
Note:  I have voted for myself in the poll...

Spoiler for Laxadarap:
Realistically, do you think you can topple aether? Whats so new this time?  (same question for every trials except aether of course)
I think Death can topple Aether (either meaning finish-ahead-of or to be-in-involved-in-a-War-that-Aether-does-not-win).  New this time?  Obvious answer is lack-of-deuce for Aether generalship.  This is not a knock on Zawadx or DANIEELA, but rather a gigantic nod to deuce's excellent run of Aether generalship.

Spoiler for dragonsdemesne:
Do you think shard of sacrifice is overpowered?
This questions is more complex than a simple yes/no answer.  In certain meta Shard of Sacrifice is definitely overpowered (anything restricting Purify use or not-restricting use of Poison/Sundial/SoD simultaneous with SoSa).  Fully unrestricted meta, I hold SoSa to be very strong and "OP" if utilized in certain manners by the wielder/player.  However, one card is a near automatic loss for a deck relying on SoSa to stall... Purify.  Hence, if an opponent can expect/predict SoSa coming then it could be considered auto-loss/UP (so-to-speak).

I would like to give a task to candidates, this will effect my vote if you are interested. Fully listen to Isle of the dead by Rachmaninov and tell me what this music made you feel.

placeholder for response

Spoiler for ARTHANASIOS:
@rob: What are the 3 most OP :death cards and why?

@fippe: What are the 3 most UP :death cards and why?

@root: Why Trials of :death and not, let's say, Trials of :entropy?

First, I believe Death to contain fewer than 3 OP cards.  However, here are the three strongest, in my opinion, with a brief set of supporting items.
Arsenic - 2 :death providing escalating stall-break type damage in the weapon slot... this is VERY effective and can be considered "OP".
Bone Wall - death-effect based defense synergies VERY well in many PvP environments especially considering many require non-mono decks
Shard of Sacrifice - In combination with specific other cards, this can be OP (refer: PDials SoSac by Sevs).  Even outside of such combinations, it is quite strong with few (but certain) counters (PURIFY!).

Spoiler for CrockettRocket:
Dang... all three of you I find to be very smart individuals.

So to all three of you: How do you think you could help your teammates be better deck building wise and/or task building wise in war and/or brawl?
War deckbuilding:  This setting would focus on using death in building decks.  Exposure to the variety of strong deck types possible using Death would strengthen a teammate in that regard.  Also, a PvP environment like War with restricted card access, deckbuilding rules, and opponent-prediction aspects simply sticking with an active and focused team for the entire event will result in some level (possibly great!) of advancement of one's deckbuilding prowess.

Brawl tasks:  I now have an entire Brawl of experience under my belt as a Team leader.  Teammates could hopefully learn at least a thing or two from such experience.  These would be areas like task delegation (success is rare with one member doing all the work), communication (use TitanPad... stay ahead of deadlines...), and certain specific help (how to do XXX thing in image editing/creation, use of EtG tools like card image builder and others on the forum).

Spoiler for dark ripper:
What would you consider the worst way to die?
Above others that come to mind, I would most dislike dis-corporation by drawing-and-quartering.

Spoiler for Frozengaia:
Dear death triallists:

Why are you all dead?
I am quite alive in the element of DEATH.  :D

Spoiler for Odii Odsen:
to rob: Tell me something about your experience in last war. Did you learn from mistakes?

to Fippe: How important was your role in the last war? Do you think you can lead a team to victory? Do you think you can do it better than rob?
I let my "auction plan" fly out the window too easily.  In hindsight, certain players I targeted before auction bidding started ended up playing vital roles in other successful teams.  Upon retaining title of Master of Death (to be determined, soon), I intend to 'learn from my mistakes' and perform better in the upcoming War.  Winning this War is the obvious goal.

Spoiler for farscape:
Question to all candidates (challengers and old master too):

If I apply to participate in War, would you bid on me, and max how many cards ?  :-*
Who are you calling OLD?!?  :o  ;)

I would certainly consider a bid on you in the War.  I am unable to determine the maximum bid which my yet-undetermined War auction plan would hold for you.  The rules are not yet released and the auction pool is 100% undecided at this moment.

Spoiler for TribalTrouble's 2nd inquiry:
To all candidates

Spoiler for Hidden:
Comment on this image.
I first think of Bonebolt decks.  The weapon is vaguely reminiscent of trusty ol' Arse, the piles of bones are similar to Bone Wall, and the spell's "lightning appearance" remind one of Lightning.

Spoiler for Submachine:
Damn, who would have known that Death and Darkness would be the hardest to choose from? >_<
Note, that I'm asking my questions in a funny and less serious accent, but please do your best to give accurate answers. ;)

-snip-

Question to rob77dp:

How active do you plan to be if you become ze master again? Last time you didn't post too much on the forum after Ze Brawl ended.

-snip-
If I retain mastership, I plan to be as active as RL (families and work have a knack for 'occupying lots of time' and resources, ya know? ;) ) allows.  Certainly, being General in War will prompt lots of activity - at least within Team planning/activities if not visible on forums as well.  Brawl concluded just before a very busy couple of months which is not something a person is always able to control.
:)
