I dont really know if it is new or not, but I really like the Deck Help portion of the task. It is really a good way to get people to help out.

What's the word on the Light Trial having no Master?  Will there be a Final Battle between the top two Challengers, or will the top Challenger be Master without a Final Battle?

This also has ramifications for the betting.  I was looking at the bet table and noticed the Light column has "yes" and "no" listings - which, if there is no Final Battle, will be irrelevant.  :)

Light and Gravity will have its top 2 challengers go to the Final Battle. If Wizel doesn't come back soon, then I suppose that it will be the same for Life.

There's still relevancy in the Yes/No for Light and Gravity -- by saying "No," you're betting on the second-place challenger to win with fewer upgrades in the Final Battle ;)

On-topic: The Arena task is a poorly-received task, and rightly so. It's already hard to build a deck that can stand up to all the Immorushes and Firestalls in the Arena, let alone create one that is not a variation of a "tried and true" deck. With that in mind, this task is largely up to the RNG to give you low HP decks and weak opponents in a row so that you can fill those rings in.

A variation of the task that would be more reasonable to the participants and more beneficial to the community is to create a completely unupped deck with at least 50% on-element cards that earns a bonus spin in Bronze. Newbies are always looking for ways to get rares, and the Bronze Arena is their most reliable way of getting them. Giving them information on how to build a reliable and accessible deck for grinding Bronze will be of much more use than creating a deck that can get bonus spins in Gold/Platinum if the RNG is nice.

While writing some long posts for parts II and III I thought about adding a maximum limit of words on top of the minimum. This in order to to magnify the

effect since only few will read huge walls of text, even though many can write them. Being able to provide your feedback concisely is after all a skill with it's own importance. With these current 150 words minimum 450 would be a reasonable maximum for example.

QFT. The Arena challenge is a killer, especially to those who lack the arsenal of a fully upgraded deck. The Bronze challenge seems much more fair and helpful in terms of how it contributes to the forums.

That being said, it seems that the deck challenge is always the difficult and time-consuming one, and it seems to fit the "qualification" part of a Master from kevkev's points IIRC. Is it just me, or the difficulty seem slighty overdone? If a master is able to craft a deck with great originality and stamina, it might be wiser to make it a bit more flexible in the future rather than going straight to the "new/unknown/least noticed" portion of the game.

Isn't Trials an upped competition?

If so then those who don't have an upped deck in their arsenal understand the disadvantage coming into trials. This is the same reasoning as unupped decks in upped tournaments.

I do feel as though there should be a unupped version of trials for the title of "apprentice of *elements name here*". Some of the masters that lead an unupped team in war only have real experience in the upped version of their element, having someone who specializes in the unupped version could prove very valuable.

i wholeheartedly agree with pikas version of arena deckbuilding, 50% on element unupped for bronze sounds completely possible(yet still challenging especially for some elements)

Crap, I just wrote a comment that was counted at 564 words.  Why do you want to nerf the Master of Walls of Text?

On topic.  I would like to see the deck commentary part tweaked slightly.  I'm sure some people have come across some threads in deck help where we could have given legitimate responses and would have had to think in creative ways in which to help people, but we bypass them due to them failing to live up the 25% rule.  Specifically, I'm thinking about threads such as these: Time? (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,29028.0.html) and Control Deck (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,28751.0.html) where we could help people, but with the current system we are encouraged to simply bypass them.

(Yes, I know I commented on them and I'm not asking for my posts to count.  I just want us to be helping the community at large, not simply the same six decks over and over again.)

Yes, but that wasn't my main point. I was trying to point out how the deck competition in Trials always seems to be the most difficult one, and if that difficulty is needed for the Trial or if it could be used/avoided on other parts of the Trial.

I think the voting phase points are a little high compared to the other phases and what is required.  There is nothing required in the voting phase and can potentially be worth the most points.

0-20% worth 1 point
21-40% worth 2 points
41-60% worth 3 points
61-80% worth 4 points
81-99% worth 5 points
100% worth 6 points

I don't want to complete phase 1, and place first in phase 2 then lose just because someone gets 100% of the votes, not likely to happen, but hypothetically, its feasible.

Eh, don't worry, bucky. In the :light trials, you just need to make the top 2 out of the challengers in order to be in the final battle. If you complete Phase 1 and finish first in Phase 2, then you'll make the final battle. Also, the community's opinion of a player is important, because there are some qualities of a master that Phase 1 and 2 can't judge.
Somehow still around, somewhat
