Players who lose their quarterfinal (Top 8) matches will compete for the 5th and 6th place prizes in a mini-tournament. Prize-eligible players (namely, ones in the top 8) who leave the tournament without notifying the Tournament Organizer of their intent are considered to have forfeited their match, and also their prize.

Nitpick: In this case the 2nd rule (deck cost under 1000 :electrum) already eliminates the possibility of upgraded cards (cost >1500 :electrum), so that part is redundant in the first rule.
EDIT: Lowered the value to 800 :electrum.
Yes, I agree, but the rule is here to eliminate any kind of confusion that may be caused.

CuCN pointed out that the calculator fails for Thunderstorm, Graviton Mercenary, Salvagers, Dry Spell

I would suppose one can go in to the bazaar and find the price of such non-rares to add to their deck's cost. Nothing in the RULES states the calculator to be final-say on legality of decks.

Deck 5 (790 cost): this was the deck I played in game 1 against Serprex, but I lost when I didn't draw any Graboids in the time it took me to get to 13 cards in my deck.
Deck 3 (786 cost): Played this in game 2 and was stalling out hoping for my 5th fire bolt (had 4 in hand and about 50 fire quanta), but never got enough quanta or bolts to end it, and the poison on me ticked me to my death.
Unplayed decks
Deck 1 (790 cost): A grabbow, nothing to see here.
Deck 2 (800 cost): A mono life rush, joyous joy.
Deck 4 (786 cost): An immorush I was very non-confident in.
As a new player to the tournament scene, suggestions are much appreciated!

Cost = 799. Went 3-0. Won the first game against Reg, Krzys and RapidStar.
Cost = 786. Went 2-1. Won game 2 against Reg and game 3 against RapidStar. Lost against Higs' bonebolt in game 1.
Cost = 795. Went 1-1. Won game 2 against Krzys and lost against RapidStar (mainly because of topdecks on his part, it was quite close)
Cost = 776. Went 0-1, lost against Higs' Spider/Psiontal which was way faster.
Not used:
Cost = 784. Would have worked well apparently, but I didn't had a chance to use it.
Cost = 780. More of a silly deck actually. It sorta works but is not very competitive.
Cost = 786. Didn't do very well on testing. Couldn't make it work well under 800 cost.

simple but effective cheap to boot
entropy simplicity however a stronger one is too expensive
yes this is possible but combo decks like this one rarely work for me
another simple but effective deck and yes the mark was meant to be death i just forgot to change after building it's a trap
simplicity i'm guessing there is a pattern starting to emerge
then we hit more enjoyable decks this lost by a turn to a wings bow
probably the most complex deck to get below 800 spent about 10 mins adjusting it to make it legal and pillarless would be a whole lot more effective but was too expensive
