It would be better if week after week, instead of having a list of banned/playable cards, they come up with or use a more creative idea.  For the most part, when I play a tourney regular, if the cards are available, they will use one of the I'll say top 4-5 pvp decks.

The problem with this is, the players are not required to make decks around these cards, but rather just have them in the deck.  So to make this kind of tourney better, if the focus had to be on these cards, and that means not making graboid decks with antlions in it, or a mono aether with silence, dim shield and phase dragons, but as you can see by the list non of these can really be the focus of a deck.

Is anyone actually going to use flooding?  How about the shield?  Sure trident would be useful, but why not use quake instead because then you don't have to have water quanta. 

I could see people just using firestalls with short bows and flying weapons. Or even 4 short bows, 2 shields, and put out an early shield until you can get a fire shield out. 

And again, there is no way to verify who has legal decks.  And no TO is gonna go through the trouble of checking everyone's decks somehow.

these kind of tourney will result in popular decks with dead cards, seen that before in the doll deck, "Firestall with 6 voodoo dolls, ghostmare with 6 dolls..."

So instead of 30 card decks, we will see 36 card decks with 6 dead cards.  Sounds almost fun.  They are the least used for a reason, and since these cards cannot be the focus of a deck, there cannot be a rule about having them as the focus, so that idea is no good.  Why not just turn this tourney into an open tourney, players can use w/e they want unupped and be done with it.  Then, instead of waiting til the middle of the week to choose the next tourney, and rush and pick a bad idea, take the time to select one or to come up with one that will actually challenge the players to build uncommon decks.

Making a new rule.  Decks must be able to and use at least 1 of the 6 cards.  Might take the other cards out to avoid having those and really focusing on building decks around the cards.  Bucky, if you have a problem with us, take it up in PMs instead of in here.  We will be glad to answer.

I personally like this alot, better then to force people to use at least 1/6 of the cards. (sucks badly when you get weird draws etc)

Must use 1 of the 6 - so what happens if you don't draw one before you win?  That could happen pretty often with a rush deck or with a large deck.

Or suppose you're about to kill your opponent with your Fahrenheit, but have not played a Short Bow yet (but have a few in your hand).  Are you forced to play a Short Bow replacing your Fahrenheit instead of killing him, potentially costing you the game?  This would happen a lot if you had a firestall with 6 short bows.

Also what if you played your Short Bow second turn and then replaced it with another weapon, or what if your antlion got killed.  You'd need a screenshot both of your win, and of you playing the card.

We have had tournaments where you must use certain cards before - there was a tournament where each deck had to use 6 dragons.  It should just be on the honor system.

I think it might be enough just to make sure the cards aren't completely dead.
Taking out the other cards would probably weaken most of the deck options...not sure if it would have a net balancing effect or not.

Would be curious to know what the ten most popular cards are before deciding whether that is a good plan.

It would basically take out immodecks, firestall, nova rainbows, and would make deck building more interesting.
