dark ripper 3-2 deuce22

that was so intense!!

Game 1: LOSS

1 pillar draw was enough for me to lose.

Game 2: WIN

So I did this again  :P A perfect draw was enough vs a ghostal's bad draw.

Deuce was really hardcountered here, immogolems died quickly and then I fractaled one of them for the win.

A better version of my first deck by deuce, lack of deflags(I got 1) and the silences that never came cost me the win.

Game 5: WIN

I hate myself for doing this(first time at tpvp that I used a dead card) but I was sure that fractix would give me the win. Faced a fractix by deuce, lost coin toss, but deuce never drew a fractal(!) -till last turn at least- which gave me the win by one turn.

Really awesome games deuce, thanks for them!

Wasn't a big fan of boltdial, but i figured he would bring only 2 or 3 deflags and pray to RNG. Looked bad early on, then i drew Fahr and fire shield. Shield got deflagged to save his chickens, so it was up to my 3 dials to draw enough bolts. I ran out of dials, but I had enough HP left to where he couldnt OTK. Bolted to death next turn.

Was torn between immo and fractix. Immo is faster, but dies to CC. Fractix is very consistent, but cointoss can often decide winner. Decided to go with fractix for the consistency. I win toss, then pray he doesnt have immo. He doesn't, he has fractix, so I think i should be ok. We both play chicken turn 2 and 3. I have enough aether turn 4 to fractal, but no fractal... so i deflag his aether pend to make sure he can't fractal for a couple turns. I draw deflag, then another deflag. He then fractals. Based on my calcs, he still needed 2 more turns to win, so if i draw fractal now, I win...i draw pend...end up drawing fractal next turn and lose by 1 turn. One of the more painful losses in my career.

TheonlyrealBeef 1 - 3 Higurashi

ggs, rng gave us quanta, and when rng was done... rng gave us more quanta! Higs having the decks that could actually use all that quanta with all them fractal decks was thus victorious :p

Well timed mirror sealed the deal. Last few turns were really tense since I had to choose between Draining early and risk having a shield block my Vampire Dagger or Draining later. I chose to save my last as long as possible and won with just 3 hp xD
Don't remember drawing any Miracles. Could've, you know, been nice.

I dunno, this was built to withstand stalls, not a carnage of RoLs. In hindsight, maybe I should have dropped my first Dim 1-2 turns later. Higurashi 3 - 1 TheonlyrealBeef

Creative deckbuilding and a pleasure as always. RNG was pretty kind to me for once. I'm used to quanta flooding; that's why Fractal rocks. Convert bad start and useless quanta to great mid-game and quanta to offence :D

Game 1 (L):
Spoiler for Hidden:

Lost against Siphonary as I didn't get enough :death and had to play too many Psions to be able to recover after Mirror. He topdecks a Drain at the last second, but that's offset by him not drawing any Miracles anyway.

Game 2 (W): Same as above. Won against Mindgate Sancstall. Well, this was just a really bad matchup for Torb. To make matters worse, I drew lots of :death.

Game 3 (W):
Spoiler for Hidden:

Won against Doll OTK.

This was a matchup full of questions. First I couldn't play early Ray in case of Lightning, then I couldn't play early Dragon in case of double Lightning. Dims went up around 50 HP and I sat waiting for a 3rd Fractal and the Psion for ages, but before then Torb did his combo and was one PU short. His Dims also ran out here. Because I hadn't played the Dragon early and didn't draw another Fractal, I couldn't kill him in one turn, which gave him a turn to draw for another PU. I was at 11 HP. He didn't draw it, and I didn't draw the Miracle either x)

Game 4 (W): Same as game 1 and 2, but -1 Aether Pend +1 Luciferin. Won against RoL/Hope with Dark pends for Steals (probably).
Easy matchup. Got early Electro and Psion, then sat waiting for unnecessary Fractal. Would've won with the second Psion I drew anyway.

Lost toss, had fractal, rol, nymph, and rest quanta. He had death/gravy duo, wasn't sure what to expect, so i played conservatively. Turn 3 roltal, then his dragon came out. Then momo on his dragon. i played nymph turn 5 but decided not to fractal rols in case i needed to fractal nymphs, then 2nd dragon with momo came out. Drew and played dead hope and roltaled next turn. Damage race was even with my nymph healing. Then he plays accel. Drew 3rd fractal, but have to wait 1 more turn to play. Knocks me down to 19 HP, then i fractal nymphs ftw. Don't remember the last time i had rol hope win in 8 turns, but i was sure glad to see it this game. Only won this game because of epic draw. If i had played more efficiently, i wonder if it could have won in 7...

EDIT: based on my calcs, i would have won with exact damage at 7 turns if i played more aggressive. Didn't think rol hope was capable of that, lol.

Won toss, 1 fractal, 1 chimera, rest quanta. He was low on quanta, then he played an upped poison turn 2, which likely meant bonebolt, which I should easily counter as long as i draw a guard... He gets 2nd poison, still no guard. A couple turns later, i finally draw a guard. He waits 2 turns to play BW + zap x2. I fractaled guards again, then chimera'd for exact damage and 8ttw.

ggs nireus, RNG wasn't kind to you. Good luck to you and your team in future rounds.

I had an awful starting hand and deuce had a much better one. Everything ended quite quickly.

Much better draw this time and the game was very close considering I only needed 1 more turn to get the win. However, deuce managed to fractal his Nymph just in time. Dat 5x :aether mark... simply :o!

Game 3: Loss

I should 've used another deck here as fractaguards were lethal for my bonebolt. I had 1 pillar/pend at starting hand, so there was not much I could do. Deuce's Chimera ended this game one turn faster than normal.

Overall great games and an exciting experience fighting the Grandmaster!

P.S. I guess I'll have to start praying more to RNG...hmmm

I just wonder if hainkarga has the same 6 aether marks..
Sure rules doesn't say anything about this, but same haink was asking for this rule to be implemented (rule for subbing)

Vangelios said something like that as well, haink doesnt have so many marks, but as long as there arent any rules about that its all legal.

Yeah, most would agree a sub shouldn't be able to use something the original player doesn't have, but the rules are as they are. Marks wouldn't matter unless we had Earth or Water involved, but Nymphs can have a real impact.

Aether is the prime Element present in all things, providing space, connection and balance for all Elements to exist.
Aether represents the sense of joy and union, and the ultimate potential of all things.

This discussion is moot because he had no PC and I had no PC, so he couldn't affect my quanta even if he used mindgates. I used 6 marks merely because I like showing them off :P

Yes i'm against that rule-hole. It is nearly as facepalming as 1 decoy card rule-hole. But it mainly matters when there is heavy pc. Anyway thanks for subbing deuce.
