I haven't been tracking this over time, but since I know there is some controversy over the preponderance of Fire Decks in the Arena, This morning I happened to notice that all four top decks displayed on the Arena page were  :fire Marks.

I was curious how many of the top 10 decks in each league were  :fire and made what I found an interesting discovery. The proportion decreases as the league level increases.

Bronze is 6 of 10
Silver is 4 of 10
Gold is 4 of 10
Platinum is 2 of 10

Assuming this is not just a temporary anomaly as of this moment, I wonder if this is due to more experienced players in the higher leagues who know how to defeat  :fire decks better, or if it's the only element forgiving enough for bronze leaguers to successfully build winning decks?

Thoughts?

Thanks,
LSK Piano

I and several other people have been countering fire decks in Platinum league for a few days now. It's hard to say how much influence it really has but I do occasionally push a fire deck down the ladder.

So yeah you could say the people playing Platinum League know better how to deal with fire decks.

Yeah, at the beginning of the week there were a whole lot more fire decks in the Top10 of Platinum League.  Not so much anymore thanks to Jappert's initiative to play counters to them.

Good money in it too :D
It is too late to apologise.  I have already forgiven you.

Another thing is some of the most popular decks vs arena are Rainbow rush and Fire rush.

If people also put up these types of decks IN arena, then they will probably win versus players own rushes which don't have the extra advantages.

Rushes are notoriously weak on quanta production so all my arena decks have packed some rewinds/blackholes/earthquakes etc. :P

I've only been 1st in gold leage twice and 2nd, twice ;)

Now top 25 Platinum decks has 15 :fire, and #1 is :earth with Fire Dragon.
"The proportion decreases as the league level increases"
