Arena loss feedback (thumbs up/down) https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=33175.msg418507#msg418507

Not sure the point.  fun + original  vs  boring + uninspired.  losing isnt ever fun...not versus a computer anyways.  besides a fate egg deck, who would ever say "i enjoyed that loss".  arena decks are unfair and cheap.  are we collecting data to create new FGs?

maybe something that gives feedback for WINS against an arena deck would be helpful.  ive wondered "why did my submitted deck lose, what went wrong" far more than ive felt the need to validate how boring/uninspired other submitted decks that i cant beat with mine are.

anyone else feel like weighing in about this   :)
Zombie0 gives 110 percent whenever he's in the arena. He's a team player who delivers both offensively and defensively. He has no idea what a Quantum is.

I like rating deck, even if they defeated me.
Until now i gave ~1/3 thumbs up and ~2/3 thumbs down.
I feel that rating a deck you defeated is too biased, because you will vote thumbs up to a farm deck, and this is not fair.
If you vote thumbs up to a deck that just defeated you, that means that it was a nice deck.
I don't know if this system will work, but we have to give it some time.

For me it was easy, if I found I was unable to do anything to win against the deck I faced. Insurmountable odds? chances are that the deck was too strong/onesided to be fun.

If I tought I had a chance to win but ended losing, I will put a thumbs up, after all nobody wants to fight a hopeless battle to the end.

I think this is a measure aimed at spicing up variety in the arena.  I've only thumbs-downed the generic decks that show zero creativity (Nightmare/GotP, Immo Rush, Fire Stall, etc.).  It will be interesting to see how the data is used; will the rating cause the deck's ranking to go up or down?  Will "boring" decks be removed after a set amount of time?  Will it just be posted in the stats to shame the submitter?

Voting up a deck gives it bonus rating; voting it down gives it no bonus rating. Number of thumbs up and thumbs down might show up as a statistic in the future if Zanz would like to implement it.

I've been asking myself a few different questions whenever an arena deck beats me:

-Did I lose because I had only one pillar in the first five turns or something stupid like that?  If so, thumbs down; you didn't work to beat me and don't deserve more electrum :p
-Did I lose because your deck was really good and was simply better than mine?  If so, thumbs up; I like to reward good decks, because they make the game more challenging.
-Was your deck just really cool and unique?  If so, thumbs up.
-Was the arena deck mine? :p  (This happened once last night)  If so, thumbs way up!  Extra electrum!

Good thing.
I mostely always thumb up.
Not when I had bad hand/draw.

If the rating was for both decks you beat and decks you lost against, you would thumbs up every deck you beat to keep it around longer.
Meaning that if I was to grind with Black Holes, I would thumbs up every speedbow I beat, because, free money!

This was is good. I don't rate on the quality of the matches, I can have a great start, they can have a terrible start, whatever. I rate based on how original the deck is. Meaning, I have never given a thumbs up to a: GotP Nightmare/Speedbow/Oraclebow/Firestall ,  and other decks which are too chiche.

"Besides a Fate Egg deck who enjoys losing?". Flying Pulverisers, Crusader Arsenics, Mitosis Scorpions - anything that is different and original, but works well. The kinds of things people should be making with the arena cards given.

Oh, and I will almost always give a + to a deck using the ability of Schroedinger's cat, Aflatoxin or Sky Blitz. (Non rainbow stall extra cards, actual strategy cards)

I give + to any deck that I haven't seen the concept before, or any deck that adds something to a concept. Any decks that aren't considered great but are made good enough to beat me I give + to. Any deck with an oracle card that isn't dead and isn't good I give + to.

The only decks that I've -ed so far are 2x Ghostmare and 3x Fire Stall.
Years ago we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash, Bob Hope, and Steve Jobs. Now we have Obama, no hope, no cash, and no jobs.

I believe the thumbs up/down would be more effective if thumbs down gave no electrum and thumbs up gave at least 20 electrum. Making it so clone decks actually suffer for being put in the arena and encouraging deck building. Right now a clone can make it to the top ten and still gain electrum. For my idea the only benifet for getting that high with a clone would be bragging rights.

That said, I thumbs up everyone if they used thier oracle card properly or at all.
I'll thumbs up a ghostmare if it's oracle card was nightmare.
