Ok, so i have an hp laptop with windows 7 and it starts up fine, logs in fine, but sometimes while i am playing it will randomly shut down. I have checked to see if it is overheated, but it was barely warm, i have looked in task manager but there seems to be no rogue processes running. What the heck is happening and how do i fix it?

"your pc overheats? What the heck."

In all seriousness, try checking scheduled task. Someone might play a prank on you by setting up a task to shutdown your computer every now and then.
It might also be malware work too, so scan your computer to be safe.

I dont think it is a sceduled task because when it shuts down, on reboot i asks for safe mode.
I will try scanning it.
