How to take a screenshot???

OK, if I wanted to take a screenshot to show a win/loss record or a mid game battle, is there certain keys i'm supposed to press, or a settings sections in windows, or does it vary for each computer, i'm kinda confused

It depends on the computer you're using, but usually there's a print screen button, which saves your screen as an image. You'd then have to open a program like paint and paste the image in it. If you have a windows 7 or vista, the snip tool works as well. I know there was a tutorial on the forums somewhere... but I can't find it right now.

the print screen button. It's usually near insert and delete. After you print the screen, open up something like ms paint, and ctrl+v to get the image in there. After saving the image in paint or whatever, upload it to an imagehosting place like photobucket or tinypic.

I found the print screen button but nothing happens when I press it. Do I have to select the page or internet address or hold down a second button?

When you press it the image should now be on your clipboard, as if you'd copied an image. You have to paste it into a program like Paint and save it.

In case you're playing an important match, it could be useful if you were able to take screenshots on a stick without having to paste and save them manually. This enables you to capture the board after every turn without getting distracted from gameplay or increasing your latency. There are certain programs around to do this ...

I myself am a great fan of IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/), it's totally free. You'll find the Capture function in the Options menu or by pressing "C" in the main window. This sets up a customizable global hotkey which will take a screenshot and save it into a specified folder with a timestamp.

i use print screen, post it into photobucket, then press  *  replace * with URL and if you would  like to save space....press this instead

If on a Mac, you should be able to open up Preview and do a screen capture from there. I'm not on one right now, so I can't give extremely detailed instructions, but it should be possible.

Windows 7 also has a snipping tools program that lets you take screens and saves them right there. You can even crop it right there as well.

last time i used to press the print scree....paste it in 'paint' save, post it.(to any website...like photobucket perhaps) copy the url...and you know the rest
