Good Luck & Have Fun!

Hi guys, I have started making a tool with Game Maker 8.0 which allows you to make Deck Images with both ETG Original cards and CIA cards.
The tool contains almost every current Armory and Forgery card, however any feedback for decent Forge Archive cards to add into the tool is welcome (those 'Malignant Cells' represent free spaces for new cards).
Furthermore, any feedback for any improvement (like better graphics, more options etc.) is extremely appreciated.
Don't forget that the version is beta, so expect a few glitches here and there.
If I recieve enough feedback from the community, I will complete the tool and I am also going to upload new content (like more CIA cards in the list) in a monthly basis.
Here is the link, I hope you have a good downloading speed, since this tool is more than 50MB!
(it's not my fault, it is just those card images which take too much Hard Drive free space) :P

EDIT: I have both good and bad news.
Good news: I have completed version 1 of CIA Deck Image Builder! :D
Bad news: You still have to downlad it and it is about 100 MB!!!!! I tried to zip it in order to reduce its size, but it wasn't reduced more than 1 MB, so I've just posted the .exe directly. I hope I will learn JavaScript soon enough to make a version which doesn't need downloading to function, but I can't promise everything. Until that day arrives, here is the new link (if you find an Armory or Forge card missing, please inform me, ok?).

To reduce size of download.
maybe you could let people fetch CIA card images separately. Also give instruction how to import images into tool.

The problem is I can't make the program to realize what element and card type the inputed image is. As a result, it won't be able to categorise the card images and the amount of images would be too small that way. Creating neat CIA images by importing cards can easily be achieved by using GameMaker 8.0 directly.
(I used GM 8.0 to create these CIA deck images. If people request it, I can post a tutorial of how to build images like this via GM, it is a nice and easy process IMO)

Would there be any way to port this onto the tools section of the forum? Or perhaps make a non-download version?

To add compatibility with the Playtesting System (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,36897.0.html), I would like to request an option that assigns numbers from 1-[Max Deck Size] if possible. If this could be done, many thanks.

Hmm, I am not sure, Game Maker 8.0 Lite Edition (which I use) creates only downloadable applications. I may need to search for other programming languages which can allow applications created via them to run directly through the internet. Any suggestions of such a programming language and a link for a free version of it are more than welcome.

It would be nice if you were a little more specific about these "assigned numbers from 1-[MaxDeckSize]". Please, explain it in detail and I will do my best. ;)

If you want something to be run online, your best bet is to do what most people (including me) do, and write your tool in HTML and Javascript (both free, since they're just text files). Download a code editor like Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus-plus.org/), read some tutorials (http://www.w3schools.com/js/default.asp), sign up with a free web host (http://www.000webhost.com/) and you're golden. :) No need for large files because you can just hotlink to the images.

CIA Deck Image Tool updated, but it still needs downloading (and a big-sized one!). :-X
Anyway, have fun! ;D

Interesting tool! I'll check it out some time soon! This should go well with playtesting.

Where are the screenshots saved to?

They are probably saved to the same folder you have the ".exe" in. This is what happens with me at least.

How? Do you have full GM8 version or something like that or are you going to make it from scratch via another programm like Javascript?
In any case, this would be awesome and it would deserve tons of +rep from the rest of the community. Do it, if it is not that great effort. :D

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to try to include all these suggestions with the new version which is going to include the new shards and new cards.

I would probably just use GD Library and PHP.

HUUUUUUUUUUUGE necro here, but I think having the dropbox link fixed to allow use of this tool for Brawl stuff would be huge.

ARTH - you have the tool installer AND are a Brawlmaster... make it happen Cap'n?  :D  kthankxbai

I am not sure my tool is going to help you. It doesn't allow to import any extra card images from the ones pre-loaded to its code. I may or may not upgrade the tool with the Brawl card submissions' images included, though I doubt it (it is already a heavy program and I've removed it because no one was neither using it nor provided feedback or suggested any improvements, like more background types, friendlier interface, cooler buttons, more card types etc.)

However, you can still PM me to create a CI&A image of your deck (this goes for every Brawl team of course).
