This being a gaming-based community, and I'm curious as to how many of you actually go outside for recreation.

I used to swim competitively, and at the moment I'm training to get back to that level - I'm in the pool 6 days a week outside of uni semesters, and usually 2-3 times a week (or as much as I can manage) during uni.

(...but I swim in an indoor pool so I don't actually go outside)

Martial arts have been in my life for as long as I can remember. For convenience I'll call that one sport, but I love boxing, greco-roman wrestling, muay thai, wushu, tae kwon do, tai chi and many more. Had my own dojo 16 years ago.

Used to be addicted to running and biking. Still love biking, mainly terrain.

8 years ago I started lifting for strength (5x5 sets) and recently moved to muscle-building (8x4) and bulking for variation's sake. Almost only free weights and compound. Lately it's really kicked up hormone production and improved sleep, mood, metabolism, etc. Everything's connected and you start getting positive chain reactions in your body :>

I volunteer at a bike rescue in Boston (Bikes not Bombs) to get bicycles to the needy, those without other forms of transportation. Naturally that means I do a lot of road biking. I also play bike polo twice a month.

I was a state-level cross country runner when I was in high school, and I've kept up the habit. I regularly put in 40-80 miles a week.

I do a lot of hiking, mostly to get to exit points from which to jump. There is a video of one of my Earth jumps in the members' pictures thread. I also BASE jump from man made objects in the area, which means a lot of interesting climbing.

I go to the rock climbing gym 3 times a week. This includes bouldering, lead climbing, free weights, and grip training. I also get some of my runs in there when the weather isn't great.

I'm a skydiving and wingsuit coach on the weekends. I hold a world record in wingsuiting. The video is in the members' pictures thread.

I like to play volleyball (unprofessional amature games) but I'm only relatively decent when playing with other newbies and barely ever get a chance to play it. I like to hike sometimes and enjoy casual biking. I don't do these often either. I'm a naturally good climber but only do that on trees and at parks and stuff. I did go to a rock climbing place once and did well. As for sports, I don't play (except very infrequent amature volleyball) or watch them on TV. So other than a few occasional active things I'm a mouse potato.
