Using up to 6 upgraded cards, players use their 50 cards to build decks to face their opponents. This event will use World Cup style format.

1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

Maximum amount of participants for this event is 32. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the 32 players doesn't show up during Phase 1.

2. GETTING READY
1. Build a cardpool of 50 cards. Pillars, Pendulums, and Mark Cards count towards your 50 cards. These cards will work as your deck and Sideboard.
- You may use all cards in the game, except the following cards:
:aether Dimensional Shield
:darkness Devourer
:death Bone Wall
:earth Graboid
:entropy Discord
:fire Fire Bolt
:time Ghost of the Past
In addition, all Shards are banned.
- You may use up to 6 upgraded cards. These upgraded cards can be changed between games.

2. PM the deck code of your card pool to the Event Organizer: majofa.
- Use built-in forum deck image builder (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/Themes/default/images/bbc/deck.gif)
- If you don't know how to do this, post on this topic and ask for help.
- It's a good idea to check the "Save a copy in my outbox" box when posting the PM so that you don't forget what deck you are supposed to use.
- If you do not PM your card pool in time, you will be removed from the event.

3. GROUPS ROUND and KNOCKOUT ROUND
This event will use the World Cup Style format.
In the Group Round players will be separated into 'Groups' with the same number of players in each group. Players will then duel (duel=match) the other players in their group. The top player from each group will automatically advance to the Knockout Round.
*NOTE: depending on the number of players, there will most likely be more players that advance.. including, but not limited to the 2nd place finishers in each group. So keep in mind, losing 2-3 is better than losing 0-3.

In the Knockout Round players will be seeded based on their finishes in their Groups. There will then be a single-elimination tournament until only one player remains. *NOTE: FOR THE KNOCKOUT ROUNDS ONLY: Each player may use 1 additional upped card for each individual game and each match they won during the Group Round. (So if a player's matches were 3-0, 3-2, 1-3.. they could use 9 additional upped cards.. 7 games won, 2 matches won.

4. MATCHES
Players will have 7-10 days to make their battle happen. They must contact their opponents using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. Please keep a copy of all PMs sent and received, in case the fight doesn't happen. If one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time, they will receive the win. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was.

Matches are best-of-five. The first player who wins 3 individual games, wins the match.

You are allowed to change your deck and mark between games.

It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. If there is a dispute in a game, PM all pertinent information to the Event Organizer and continue on with that duel. The EO will look at all the information and make a ruling. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.

5. AFTER DUELS
Each Group will have its own Battle Results thread, where players will post their match results. Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of both their decks. All card pools will be listed in the original post so that all players can see them.
In the Knockout Round, each round will have its own thread.

6. WINNER
Winner of the single-elimination tournament is the winner of the event.

7. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon: TBD

So if I wanted 15 pends, I am only allowed 35 more cards, correct? Or is it 49?

I have been waiting for this event since a while and these rules appear to be well thought and tremendously awesome. Thanks for that.

ill the cardpools be made public, so we can check the other's deck on cheating? (not that I mistrust anyone but, knowing who is using which cards can be very useful)

Yes, you'll know what to expect and can plan accordingly.

since we are 32 which is quite a lot (and a good thing!) will there be a 2nd group round (the top 16 going into 4 groups) or we directly go into knockout round and whoever wins there advance?

The Top 16 will advance directly into the Knockout Round (Single-elimination tournament).

Ok, how are the knockout brackets made? 16 people randomized?  In a real world cup format, you'd have 1st place group A against 2nd place group B on top of the bracket, and 2nd place group A against 1st place group B in low part of the bracket, then repeat the process with group C-D, E-F, G-H.  Two reasons for this are giving a little advantage to those who got 1st place (facing second is supposed to be easier at least) the other is avoiding refacing the same opponent again unless meeting in the finals.  I know it's a bit more job but it would be much appreciated to use the format to it's full potential :)

Players from the same group won't meet again until the finals.
