Tried one more idea, an Empathy deck with Water mark for purifies, and Forest Spirits for the kill.  The problem?  While it has high healing potential, and Thorn Carapace can clear the enemy field eventually, once again it takes too long to get set up.  Best healing I was able to muster was 14 before I died, and he kept putting out new creatures.

Code: [Select]
5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bu 5bu 5bu 5bu 5bu 5bu 5c1 5c1 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c3 5c3 5c3 5c6 5c6 5c6 5c6 5ia 5ia 5ia
High end healing with all cards out is 24 per turn.  Upgrading the shield would help quite a bit, but that's against the intent of this deck... sigh.  Back to the drawing board.

He's a really tough nut after the Oty nerf and Pufferfish buff. I wonder if Angels would be enough to abate the infection.. problem is you have to buff it. Earth, Gravity, Light, Water for purifies.. yep, the main problem will always be speed against these evil x2 draw guys.

Scorpio doesnt have Improved Plague nor any creature with virus-like ability, you must be mistaking it with Morte
Angel does nothing against Scorpio (except getting lobo'ed by Ulitharid)

its hard coming up with a rare/upgraded deck needed to beat Scorpio much less an unupped/non-rare one
i'm testing sudden killer with lobo (instead of fahrenheit) and purify for the upped/rare version

Angels would be to counter the poisoning Otyughs get when they eat a Pufferfish.

The problem is you couldn't immortalize the Oty, and it would get frozen or lobo'd eventually.

too impractical to be used effectively imo

hmm...this gives me an idea
maybe try mind flayer, going with lobo route instead
but it is still lacking damage potential...mind gate, purify, dim shield? really need SoGs to work

Hehe, that's cute. No, they get infected when they eat Pufferfish. Of course it's impractical; unupped decks will always be slow. You'd need to quint them both unless you have a Lobo of your own to deal with the Uli's. Even then, one may very well get through thanks to him playing several. We are, however, simply brainstorming. There's no need to shoot down ideas.
I think rares are definitely needed for this task at hand.

saw a first turn physalia (FML) and figure why i like lobo more than fahrenheit
but the reasoning for fahrenheit here is that 1) you wont have sufficient fire quanta to wait until near decking out to 1HKO scorpio 2) the threats of poison buildup without seeing purify means you need to finish faster than usual
but i completely missed the fact that scorpio also had physalias in its deck
it could work upgraded (with lobo instead of fahrenheit) but i'm trying to find one totally unupped

the quest continues...

p/s: johann, we should do a bet of some sort to see who can first come up with the best unupgraded anti-Scorpio

My attempt at an unupped deck:
(1-5) d'oh
Code: [Select]
5ia 5ia 5ia 5ia 5ia 5ia 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61u 61u 61u 623 623 623 623My attempt at an upped deck:
(2-1) ehh
Code: [Select]
7gq 7gq 7gq 7gq 7gq 7gq 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7n4 7n4 7n4 7n4 7n4 7n4 7n5 7n5 7n5 7n6 7n6 7n6 7n6 7n6 7n6 7n8 7n8 7n8 7n8 7n8 7n8May need more tweaking (and W-L is from the trainer), but these have potential.

put this down as fully upgraded anti-Scorpio deck :-

Code: [Select]
6rn 6rn 6rn 7gq 7gq 7gq 7gq 808 808 808 808 808 808 808 808 808 808 808 80d 80d 80d 80d 80d 80d 80e 80e 80f 80f 80f 80f 80f
all you ever need is 1 purify to cure you after you start the dim shield chain (but having extra help you survive longer)
i am not certain how this would work fully unupped, of course SoGs need to be replaced with extra healing, purify etc but i havent get around to test the unupped version yet

edit: original idea by icecoldbro, modified by yours truly

Looks like a pretty solid idea. I would note its probably a good idea to try to hold onto at least 1 and maybe 2 purifies til the turn before you win so you can use them and get EM (if he doesnt have more than 2 physalias or doesnt draw a deadly poison just 1 is fine). Obviously use them earlier if you have to for survival purposes though.

as long as your dim shield chain is not broken and you have a few SoGs (or even just one depending on the damage done by poison) there wont be any problem EM'ing scorpio with the deck posted above

i once went down to 40 HP, start the dim shield chain and purify and won with EM with just 2 dragons damage (+lobo) and with 2 more purify, 1 dim shield in hand unused (and about a handful of cards left, forgot how much)

The reason I say that is so you dont have to try to time the dragons with your electrocutor for your SoGs to heal you. If you purify the turn before you win, your sogs can heal you to full, and you shouldn't take any damage due to your phase shield, so you'll be at 100 hp for your last turn and wont have to worry.
