Title: (Aether) EvaRia 0 - 0 The Mormegil (Life)
Post by: The_Mormegil on November 25, 2011, 04:11:41 pm
I guess our opponents were too awesome for the weak Team Life. Congratulations and enjoy the salvage.

Why did life throw it all away?

Can't agree more on that. =)

Why did life throw it all away?
I'd like to point out first of all that the 30 Pillar deck was a result of a ruling that kev made; we DID NOT convert all of our cards to Pillars out of choice.
The team itself has been suffering from inactivity due to real life complications almost since the beginning of the War itself.  This in combination with continual losses against hard counters to several of our decks meant that the War became less important to all of us, which allowed more room for real life to take over and for War itself to fall through the cracks of things on our plate.
As for myself, I somehow convinced myself that the extension meant that the round ended after the holiday rather than right in the middle of it; the extension that actually took place makes no sense to me given that it did little for people who were offline because of the holiday.  I should have double checked, but I have my reasons; whether or not you choose to believe that these reasons are mere excuses is your choice.

I don't know if I would say that we gave up.  At the beginning of the Round we were ready to face our opponent regardless of the current vault situation.  Beyond this I can't really explain it.

We didn't give up. You and Pika have been occupied since the start of War as you mentioned, AK took a week off (the first one, I should mention, due to having holidays... I hope when he comes back he won't start a rampage for our screwing up everything ;) ) and I had an exam that took more time than I would have thought. That, combined with a fair bit of distraction (I, for one, didn't even notice the deckbuilding had ended since some hours ago) led to a big mistake. We could have played some more, we could have possibly even won will's match with a Frogtal. Whatever. We screwed up big time and it means we'll be out one or two rounds sooner than we could have been. Not that it changes that much...

Oh well. I feel kind of sad we didn't fight out this last round, but it's my fault as well for not noticing - nay, not really caring. Good luck to the rest of you in this War, and don't let the ponies take the trophy away without a struggle!

Was rooting for Life and was sorry to see them go this way. Nobody should lose out of a technicality, and it would've been nice to see Life get the chance to make a comeback.

Not really a technicality this time. We made a mistake, it's just fair that we pay.

The optimist!
Only if we knew of this outcome beforehand. We'd have a nastier vault now.

So, I contacted Mormegil and we agreed to play an unofficial match just for fun :)
I'm not claiming any change in ruling. This is just so that we still got a chance to play.

EvaRia 3 - The Mormegil 0

All 3 games he really couldn't do much about the onslaught of phoenixes. His healing let him stall a bit more, but not much he could do.

Based on how our Vault looked like, I decided that if we were to field some decks, they would most likely have been Frogtal for Will vs Entropy (praying that Dims were enough to stop Discord) and Crappy Firestall for me (to try and get around Bonewall, as I couldn't really see any answer to that). Of course, Fractix is even WORSE.

FIRST GAME: I stalled enough to get him under 50 hp thanks to a brave Adrenastaff!

SECOND GAME: I stalled enough to get him under 75 hp thanks to two Heals!

THIRD GAME: I stalled enough to get him under 90 hp thanks to... .... ..... ...... his low quanta?
Yes, this one is a bit of an exaggeration... but eh, you get what I mean.
