When I saw the deck that was eventually chosen (I specifically said to my team not to use this) I thought that it would be a quick 0-3 for light. I almost didn't even want to try, but I figured I owed it to my opponent to do my best. Despite a couple mistakes that I made early due to my low morale, I somehow managed a win for the team.
Game 1: LOSS. I made a mistake firebolting his crusader; I should have hit his face, because he couldn't have killed me the next turn, and I could have won with attacks assuming he gets nothing. He topdecked nightmare, or had it ready; either way, my misplay doesn't change the outcome.
Game 2: LOSS. I get a 1 pend start, but miraculously seem to still be doing alright. I play fahrenheit and he endows it, since he has no dagger... oh, right, he can do that. Fortunately, due to the draws that came up, it just made him win faster by a turn, since he drew into more damage anyway.
Game 3: WIN. Managed to outrush somehow. I don't recall the details, but I know I topdecked a pend which smoothed out my quanta production well enough to make my game way better, and then I topdecked a creature for the win at the end.
Game 4: WIN. Shinki gets a 1 pillar start, and I have both deflags in hand, so I destroy one, even though he plays a 2nd by the time I can deflag. He gets quanta screwed pretty bad, and when he finally gets a pillar, he goofs and hits spacebar too soon and discards it. He believes he would have won had he played it, but I think I was too far ahead; we'll never know what his topdeck was, now.
Game 5: WIN. I get a very nice hand with 5 pends and 2 chargers, and he gets no early saders. I bolt his first sader, and keep getting more and more chargers, but no phoenixes with all my extra fire quanta. Just as he starts to get rolling, I topdeck the second firebolt and hit his face for the win.
