The Quantum Enigma is a Role Playing adventure in the land of Elements, where the citizens of twelve nations seek to discover the source of a new, alien source of energy that is disturbing the peace of the continent. Read more on the main thread here.

Rules:
1. Obey all Forum Rules
2. NO CONTROLLING OTHER PLAYERS' CHARACTERS.
3. Do not make any major plot twists or changes in your post. If you are not sure what qualifies as "major" or you do want to make a major plot change, you can PM me and I will give you the yes/no.
4. Put anything unrelated to the game in brackets []. For example:

"[I will be on vacation and will not post for the next 3 days]

My character, Zanzarino, blow up the world!!111 lolool"

5. Be realistic. Do not make your character overpowered in relation to the other player characters.
6. Have fun! Of course.

Description: (Age, appearance, personality, etc.)
Background: (History, family, etc. This can be blank if you desire)
Ability: (Choose one from the list of your chosen element. You can also choose your own, however make sure it makes sense and is balanced. I will notify you if your ability needs to be changed. You can be creative as well; for example if you are a Light Elemental your ability can be a Pegasus, and you can fly around on a Pegasus. You have to feed it and take care of it, though. It's also mortal, so it can die, y'know).
Item: (Choose any item from Elements the Game, it can be Ice Shield, Short Sword, or Rage Potion. Write a short description of how the item works, if needed).
Anything else: (In case I missed something).

Do not post on the main thread until I specifically give you permission. Simply posting a sign up does not allow you to participate.

Just to note, if there's enough interest RPing in general, I will be starting a moderately revised Elemental Adventure, as now I'm pretty sure now I'll be around forever :)

Two roleplays going at once would make a lot of people who used to frequent this section happy, I think.

I'm in. I prefer the "do your own thing" approach, but your rp is more likely to last longer if you have some kind of plot in mind, as well as limits on how awesome the PCs can be, without limits, the desire to create a Mary Sue/Gary Stue is almost unbearable. I'd lie to ask- will this be an RP with Elements cards as actual creatures and stuff that you can interact with, or are you going to have Elements the Game as part of your actual story, unchanged?

Judging from the response I think we'll have enough people (considering it's only been a couple hours there's probably more people that are interested).

I'm in. The Elements world will be like Earth, there are different countries/kingdoms with a native population but Elementals from a certain kingdom can live and travel to other kingdoms. Elements creatures will exist in the RP like animals exist on Earth. Dragonflies will be abundant and dragons will be rare and reclusive. The actual Elements the Game will be kept separate from this RP.

To elaborate on the setting, we need to create descriptions of each kingdom, both in general and post-war (for example the relations between certain kingdoms). For example, something like this: Air Elementals are easy-going, free spirited, and friendly. They prefer not to fight, so after the war they made good relations with the other nations. Air Elementals like to ___, The Kingdom of Air is ruled by ____. If we want to, we can also expand to include government, resource base, industry, things like that.

Few elementals venture into the chaos triad, and even fewer are welcomed by the Entropy Elementals that live their-in, however, life elementals are usually welcome, as the residents of the chaos traid see something of themselves in the chaos of life. Entropy elementals also treat with darkness elementals, being creatures of chaos, all have some darkness within them. Their greatest enemies are the gravity and aether elementals, each symbolizing order. They are nuetral towards most other elements.

The residents of the Dead Marshes are extremely xenophobic, and take a special interest in squashing living things beneath their... walking appendages. They bear a special hatred for life and air.

The harsh environment of the gravity basin breeds massive creatures. Gravity elementals don't bear any particular ill will towards any of the other elements, however the unforgiving terrain of the gravity basin is an unintentional deterrent towards most other elementals, although the occasional fire elemental can be found.

I'm thinking each player creates an Elemental and chooses one ability (rare weapons count as an ability).

looking at your beginning sheet, each of the elemental areas are kingdoms. for some variety, I'd recommend having different political systems- entropy is an anarchy, death is a repressive dictatorship, time is a constitutional monarchy, light it a republic, etc.
