Title: The End is Here
Post by: Lunaris on October 27, 2016, 05:00:52 pm
Plot:
Its been 10 years since the world ended. The undead wander the streets of towns that were once full of joy and life. Groups of survivors are scattered across the United States, involved in a struggle to live. It has been rumored that there is safety in Europe, but obviously none know for sure. Without boats and fuel, it is questionable whether the survivors will ever be safe again...

The plot will obviously develop more as the story plays out, so I'm not going to go into a whole load of specifics.

It looks to me like Lunaris would like good role playing etiquette to be implemented in this role play so here is a link to a thread I have read that I think has good tips for role plays so Lunaris might want to read it and decide if she wants to implement its contents to the role play. I had a hard time wording this post so I hope readers (especially Lunaris) understand what I'm trying to say. Here's the link. http://elementscommunity.org/forum/role-playing/role-playing-and-you/

Derek sat with his legs hanging off the roof of the small house he had taken refuge in. His bat was tucked under the crook of his left knee, and he held a small can of green beans in his hand. Following the path of a walker along the road, he snickered quietly. "Must suck, being dead. Though, you're not really dead are you?" He threw the now empty can at the walker, hitting it in the side of the head.
The walker, curious as to what had hit it, turned towards Derek and began making its way towards him. Still laughing, Derek lept off the overhang with his bat in hand and walked over to the walker and began repeatedly hitting it, each hit making a satisfying cracking sound upon impact.

Don't stop, just go. He tried to kill you, let them eat him. Amalia kept casting glances over her shoulder at the hoard, and her eyes focused on the injured man who was just steps in front of it. Their eyes met, and he started yelling and pleading for her to help him, but all Amalia could think was of how he'd grabbed her and held her still in front of the hoard, waiting for the walkers to get close enough.. He's not worth the time. She shook her head and took off running, covering her ears when the man behind her began to scream in agony. You're doing what's right.

Cerin waited in the shadows for something, anything to happen. thats the problem with New York City it has so many back alleys and main roads its almost

impossible to find anyone, even walkers.
He took of running down the alley he was in, glancing around at every intersection. Where is that group of survivors I

say yesterday?
Cerin thought to himself. A scream sounded about 100 feet away. Cerin remained calm in NYC that could be 1 or 5 streets away. He rounded the corning onto a main

road and swung up onto a nearby fire escape. Climbing up the makeshift stairway he stepped out onto the roof. Surprising that there is still a roof on this building.

Running along the edge so as not to cave in the middle Cerin leapt from building to building, most having holes or even no roof. on the eighth roof he found the

source of the scream. Well I found the survivors. There in the middle of the road was a group of people armed with makeshift weapons and even a gun or two.

hm normally with that weaponry you would have no trouble with walkers, why did they scream? The shadows around the group began to move. Oh they are

surrounded by walkers, and not just a small group, this looks like almost half of NYC's population.
the survivors with guns started to shoot. miss, waste of

bullet, miss again.
Cerin started naturally analyzing the fighting going on before him. The walkers where almost right on top of the survivors now, the ones with

melee weapons had started attacking the walkers. their not going to survive this with how many zombies their are. Cerin watched with cold calculation, I

give them 7 more seconds, 1.
One of the survivors fell to the ground. 2. the walkers where now on top of the survivors, jumping on them and attacking.

3. the onslaught continued 4 zombies dropping for every 1 survivor. 4. only 5 survivors where left now and they where surrounded. 5.  the walkers

rushed forward, the survivors disappeared below the surface, screaming. 6. the screaming stopped, there was an eerie silence, none of the walkers where

moving. 1 second off, not to bad. All the walkers started shambling away in random directions, after about a minute there where no walkers in sight, then

something surprising happened. One of the survivors, that was on the ground, got up, and walked away.

PS please feel free to critique my writing in anyway. I know i need to get better.

[Your writing is fine, no worries (:]

Gunshots rang in Derek's ears, and his head whipped around, trying to pinpoint the exact direction from which they came. Thankfully, they don't sound too close. But they're too close for comfort. Dashing back into the small base he'd set up, he grabbed a backpack and stuffed it with cans, a large bottle of water, and a flashlight. Strapping a holster to his hip as quickly as possible, he slid a small pistol (that he doubted he would use) into it and ran out the door, making sure to close and lock it with the key he'd found in a drawer in the kitchen. He gripped his bat tightly in his left hand, his right hooked into the strap of the backpack between the strap and his shoulder.

Cerin sat straight up, bumping his head against the brick wall he had been laying against. He rubbed the back of his head as he stood up. Cerin stretched and started to run down the alley. His mind was still focused on the slaughter that had happened  3 hours previously, and the survivor.

After the survivor had gotten up they had walked down an adjoining alley. Cerin had noticed that it was a girl but not a very old one maybe 12 or 13. He had followed her to a collapsed building on the edge of the water, she went inside and hadn't come out. Cerin had memorized the address and had gone back to his alley. Cerin had checked the building everyhour since then and hadn't seen the girl once.

[Thanks for the fix (:]

Derek was crouched in a low tree in front of a tall brick building, completely invisible to those on the ground. He had drawn the pistol from its holster and gripped it tightly, prepared for.. whatever may happen next. He had watched a young girl move about within the upper floors of the building for what he believed was nearly an hour now, but she had yet to make her way out of the building to scavenge or anything.
Still gazing at the building's upper floor windows, Derek thought he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. He realized that there was a man running down the alleyway to his left, headed almost directly towards his position. "Shit..." He muttered, but did not move. Movement would only attract more unwanted attention, whether it be from this man, the girl upstairs, or the undead that meandered on the roads nearby.

Cerin crouched in the shadow of the building across from the doorway, checking to make sure his katanna was on strapped to his back. there was no movement outside. Cerin quietly made his way to the door.
Locked tight just like before, so the girl most likely hasn't left.
Cerin made his way back to the shadows of a building across the road from it, and crouched there. Cerin scanned his surroundings, he saw a few trees, 2 alleyways, and more buildings.
This is a perfect place for a base from the walkers, its in a group of decently tall buildings, only a few entrances, and not much cover if someone is on the roof.
After another 10 minutes of waiting Cerin got up to get some food from his alley. He had just started walking down the alley when he froze.
that was a door opening.
Cerin spun around and saw that the door to the building was slightly ajar.

[Who is the girl in the building? An NPC? Or another character of yours that you haven't introduced yet?]

Derek was out of his tree as quickly as possible, and almost as soon as his feet hit the ground broke into a sprint towards the door. The sound of his shoes against the pavement must've spooked whoever, or whatever for that matter, had opened the door, for when he was only a few strides from it, it slammed shut again with a loud bang.
Cursing under his breath, Derek slowed to a stop, nearly slamming headlong into the steel door. He grumbled quietly to himself as he though of a new plan. There's got to be a fire escape, right? Buildings like these always have fire escapes. He began to make his way around to the side of a building, and resisted the urge to shout in triumph upon spotting exactly what he'd been looking for attached securely to the side of the old brick building.
When he gripped the highest rung he could and pulled himself onto it, however, the ladder shook violently and creaked loudly. Derek dropped back to the ground, not willing to risk his life trying to climb the death trap in front of him. Again, he was stumped. They've got to have all sorts of good things in there the way they're protecting it. How the hell am I gonna get inside?

[Really need someone to join so I can have someone to roleplay Amalia with ::)]

The girl in the building is hopefully gonna be played by someone who joins...... but most likely she will be a 'npc' someone who we all can control.

Cerin was breathing hard as he ran around the side of the building. if that guy is going to fight me atleast it will be on my terms. He rounded the corner and kept

running hoping to stay at the back of the building. the door opened..... as if she wanted to see something, i wonder why she was about to come out? At the back

of the building Cerin slowed to a stop. nothing to hide behind.... no cover at all actually just a empty lot. As he looked around more carefully he saw a small door

in the back of the building. he tried the handle well apparently she doesn't know about the backdoor. Cerin twisted the handle and opened the door. As Cerin

entered he saw just a set of stair leading up, and a shadow.

[No no its okay, I just got confused because of the spacing.]

Derek heard the man run around the building, and quickly ran to catch him. He turned the corner just in time to watch him disappear into the door at the back of the building. Bloody hell... Breaking into a run again, he caught the door and slipped in quietly behind the other man. In his rush to get inside the building, his bat hit the door frame, and make a loud bell-like sound. Seriously... His mind grumbled, and he took a huge risk, running up the stairs at full speed.

Cerin reached the top of the stairs 15 feet behind the shadow. can't let her get away was all that was running through his mind. Cerin heard a loud Clang behind him oh great now i have to worry about him too. Cerin ran though the second floor keeping his eyes on the shadow that was running ahead. As Cerin ran by another stairwell he heard a banging noise coming from outside. walkers... this is becoming a party.

Derek was torn between running back down to the door to fight off the walkers, or to continue up the stairs in pursuit of the young girl who had run up before him. Common sense kicked in and he sprinted back down the stairs, past the other man, and to the door. Pulling his pistol from the holster on his hip, he held it out in front of him and, taking a deep breath, opened the door.
A crowd of walkers, maybe 5 or 6 of them, tried to come through the opening at the same. Derek began firing shots, taking out the walkers closest to him, but attracting the ones on the street with the noise as well. "Idiot!" He growled to himself, firing one last shot and slamming the door again. "You know noise attracts them!" He turned and sprinted up the stairs, catching up with the other man.
"We need to get out of here somehow, and the walkers are blocking the only entrance I know of." He said, keeping pace with the stranger.

Cerin was getting more annoyed by the second, first the girl runs, now this other guy shoots and attracts the others outside, just great. As Cerin ran through the second floor he glanced around, he said a single word to the man beside him "Windows."
Cerin kept running glancing around for any hiding spots the girl could have hid in. He heard pounding on metal stairs infront of him. shes headed upstairs, this is a 4 story building, she can only run for so long.
Cerin started hearing banging coming from below and behind him.
We have 30 minutes maximum to get the girl and get out.
