Title: SN full board bug
Post by: FIQ on May 11, 2012, 08:18:48 pm
Hi.
If you're chaining SN (most likely applies to normal Novas as well (after the 3rd one, obviously)), and have full creature board, you get the error about full creature board. This might be a bug in itself, but I'm not sure about this.
However, if you for some reason decide that you really need that Supernova and decide to sacrifice a creature board to make room, your Supernova is converted to a Singularity in hand.

(Also, gotta love how AI on some strange occasions spam cards as crazy, like when he's going to lose - he SN-spammed (which also spawned Singularities), mindgated SoSe, played them and the card results, continuing spamming mindgate, etc. Was fun to see)

Heh, I never thought about that case, when you have a full creature board and spam novas.  I guess I've never seen it because I don't normally use nova/supernova unless playing a speed deck, and those are over long before anyone gets 23 creatures.

Lol at first I thought this was a thread where a newb doesn't know what a Singularity is and mistakened it as a bug. :P

Very interesting bug.

I don't think this really matters, because as dragonsdemesne said, most decks using nova/supernova are rushes, and are well over before one puts 23 creatures out. If I was using a non-rush deck with novas/supernovas that had the possibility of getting 23 creatures out (sounds like an interesting deck :P) I would love to be able to spam novas/supernovas with the penalty of cluttering my hand.
It seems by the time the creature spots are filled, the game would basically be decided anyway, and filling one's creature spots, just to be able to spam novas/supernovas doesn't seem too easy, if one wants a chance at winning the game.

The only reason a bug isnt an exploit is because no one has found a  way to take advantage of it yet

It's really weird: first thing happening when you have a full field and use your second Supernova is you getting the quanta while the Supernova remains in your hand... what? After making room it turns out to have been a Singularity (free to play), same thing happens with the third Supernova, this one I didn't play on the field and only showed up as being a Singularity after using a fourth Supernova. Weirdness.

I was playing an arena game. Somehow ended up with full board and 2 SN in hand, so I thought "Hey, cool, I can play 2 SN and I won't get singularity".

That's not what happened. The first one was playable, just as you'd expect, the usual SN effect occurs, you get the quantum and the card is discarded from your hand. On the other hand, when you try to play the second one, you do get the quantum, but the card doesn't get discarded and you get the "Your board is full" message. Clicking it multiple times doesn't give the quantum anymore, but you still get the message. If you play another card after all this, the SN you tried to play turns into a singularity. It's not a graphical glitch, because you get the "Not enough quanta" message if you try to actually play it.

Recreated it with multiple SN as well:

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/confirmed-bugs/summoning-singularities-with-a-full-field/ relevant. Lots of weirdness indeed.
