I think it goes to show that maybe religion is made up and those who made it want their way. If they want God to hate gays, then they'll put that in the bible and vice-versa. Although, I can't really say Christianity is made up, but it seems, like in Paul's letters, that material regarding issues like gays may have been very un-supported by what God actually thinks and thus Paul may have put in his own view rather than what God wanted.

Why do most religions deny gay people the right to get married if they're in love? Why would an all-loving "God" allow this kind of hatred towards homosexuals?

OP question:

So, Trees, a lot of religions, especially Christianity in the years of Israel as a growing nation, people were killed/severely punished if they were gay. The bible is not in favor of being gay either, but what would you say is the reason God would deny gays? Every time i ask religious people I get what most people here have posted: bible says so or 'not in God's character.'

There are only 2 theories I can design that fit the premises you ask me to explain:

Theory 1) God decides morality
Theory 2) God does not decide morality but morality is hard enough/we are stupid enough that we need to be told rather than taught

I personally cannot respect these positions since morality that is decided is not morality and we cannot be moral agents unless we can learn morality.
