Just curious.
-
I played ai1 a couple times, i don't remember why though.

Players without a coherent deck (symptoms include: an unnecessarily large deck, no clear goal or synergy in card choices, severe quanta balance issues, relies on an unreliable and complicated combo, etc.) often find themselves playing AI1 and AI2 because their decks can't stand up against the more structured AI3 decks.
This phenomenon seems to be more common in Kongregate than the main site, as there are usually a few people every now and then who complain (on Kong forums, Kong chat, Kong comment box, etc.) about how AI3 is "too hard."
Others like to test their weird deck ideas out on the lower AI levels.
For the last two updates (1.26 and 1.27), when Zanz rolled out a new update, the new cards aren't in the Bazaar until a few days have passed. Farming AI1 and AI5 (possibly also AI2) allowed players to obtain the new cards before their addition to the Bazaar, as AI1 and AI5 decks are randomly generated from the card pool.

^ yeah this.
Testing decks in the trainer takes the fun out of it for me, so unless I need to vs a specific opponent, I'd rather test against the AI on my real account. Usually that means AI3 or T50, but if it's a really strange concept that I know will need a large amount of tweaking, I'll play the AI2 as a start.
As for the AI1, before I figured out how to grind efficiently, I would often spend too much electrum buying shiny new cards, and thus end up without enough to play my preferred AI match, so I would play an AI1 game to get enough electrum to play a higher level AI.

Precisely what I do.

AI1 makes sense, but AI5 is generated randomly? I thought it was just picking one of the decks at random like AI3 and T50.

same here

I sometimes play AI2 if I'm on a streak of bad luck. It never helps my luck.
-
I beat at least seven AI2s before I start fighting AI3s -- more if I lose any AI2 fights. I'm not trying to complete the quests as fast as possible, though; I'm trying to complete the quests in the same manner with each element, in order to figure out which element is best for me, and which cards are best in each element. If a deck loses often enough, I'll go back to AI1 or even AI0! In fact, I'm playing AI1 now.
The worst decks I've had so far had two extra AI0 fights, immediately followed by at least ten AI1 fights. Since this is usually caused by the deck being too big, I take out a lot of cards when it happens, and then put a few back in after each fight. I also limit myself to one less copy of each card -- if you see "restricts" in my signature, that's what it refers to.

According to Dark Weaver (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23323.0.html), AI5 chooses a primary and secondary element (which determine its name), and takes 4 quantum pillars, 30 random cards and 20 pillars of the primary element, 10 random cards and 3 marks of the secondary element. (For example, Tersa has 20 stone pillars, 30 random earth cards, 10 random gravity cards, and 3 marks of gravity.) Each of the 64 cards has a 30% chance of being upped (so there's about a 1-in-8.198-billion chance of the deck containing no upped cards).

Interesting. Thanks for the information.

I play ai1 to test my "how long it takes until I can take down a sandbag that can't fight back" ttw.
-
Occasionally, for the lulz, or when I've had horrendous luck with t50/FG and need to get on a win streak to save my ego.
-
I play them 2 times to finish quests, lulz.
-
I play them if I want to reach an epic score amount of some number, but other than that I never play them. I test all my weird deck ideas in the Trainer against AI3.
-
I did that a bit to get some of the new cards. Like tower shield from Akebonos.
-
AI2 have some cards not avaliable on AI3, and so sometimes I try 1-2 games and see if I get a lucky spin. Some time ago I got a Thunderstorm :D
-
Lol gratz Marvaddin ;)
I never play them and test all mah weird deck vs AI3 in real game (too lazy to search the trainer).
Anyway if a deck can't beat AI3 I do not see the point to use it so..
-
I dont touch them unlesssss
1. i've gone a spending spree and i got no money
2. trying a deck
-
Only times is do is
I want to quickly check a game mechanic (last time i wanted to verify luciferin worked on skeletons even with their new ability). Actually use ai0 for this so doesn't apply technically/Misclick. Sometimes i count over and forget to count zero and end up clicking ai2 by mistake thinking its 3I probably would after a patch to see if i notice any changes

What other cards besides thunderstorm?
-
I played AI0 about 30 times the other day to see if I could get a 2 turn win with vNG.

:O did you?
-
Maybe there could be something like an Ultimate AI1, where they start off with 100 of each quanta, all random cards and 0 pillars or pendula. To unlock this AI you'd have to face AI1 1000 times or something?
Unlocking AIs could be interesting.

No unfortunately :P

There are rumors that certain cards that aren't meant to exist can be obtained through AI1 and AI2...

If you are talking about malignant cell. that is a no
-
I farm 1 for items
2 for gold for 3
3 for score and cards
4 for a chance for upped cards
-
Testing deckz.

I believe most cards not used by AI3 are used for some AI2. Dagger, for example, is in most AI2 decks, if not all. Some will have Dissipation Shield, Holy Light, Purify, Dragonfly...

I changed my system when version 1.28 came out. I'm now planning to beat eight AI2s before I start on AI3s, and each loss will cancel out three of those wins. (Previously, each loss would cancel one win, plus one win for each previous loss since the last time I went up a rank -- although dropping out of a rank and then returning to it would count.)
This change has made it easier for me to determine how much electrum I need to keep on hand in order to avoid having to drop down to AI1 prematurely -- in fact, it's a simple function of my "position" in the level, so I've put it into the chart I've been using to keep track of that position. It also seems like it'll practically eliminate the chance of dropping back to AI0: this will now require a win-rate of less than 75% against AI1, plus two more losses. (And it was already pretty low -- it's only happened twice so far, both times after fewer than three AI1 losses.)
-
Curious... which deck are you using?
-
new players stick to level 2 for a while, also sometimes i might be a bit strapped for cash and i might go against a lvl 1 so i can get some, and i go against lvl 0 sometimes for fun
-
whenever i lose an AI3 or higher match i play AI2 matches to make up for lost score and electrum.
-
I do. I was new to this, so I played AI1 and 2 couple times. But I rarely play those levels now. In case of out of electrums, I'll play.
-
I play AI2 very rarely, only sometimes when I ran out of electrum or to test new decks.
-
Only play AI2 if I want to test a deck. No other reason to play against them imo
-
For the first couple of months I played the game, I would upgrade a card every time I collected 1,500 :electrum. Often, this would leave me without enough coins to play AI3 or higher, or Arena, so I'd be forced to play the lower levels until I had enough to play my regular opponents again. After a while, I developed the habit of waiting to upgrade a card until I had 1,600 :electrum. That way, even if I lose a few duels after the upgrade, I still have enough coins to play where I want.
-
Sometimes I play against AI2 to do a quick test of new untuned decks.
-
Just yesterday. Had 1504 Electrums, thought they were 1540, went upping one card and found myself with 4 electrums. The only thing I could do was playing the lower AIs.
