Title: Shard of Dreams
Post by: Monox D. I-Fly on November 04, 2017, 10:14:58 am
Named after a phrase in the last ending song of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZeXaL II: Challenge the Game (the phrase in question was "Yume no Kakera", meaning "Shard of Dream"):

The theme is of course to optimize all Shards.

This is crying for some drawing power, 2 SoBra's without fire mark really isnt enough for a 60 card deck, probably some creature control would also go a long way because you're getting outrushed otherwise.

Well, I rely more on Shard of Serendipity than Shard of Bravery. Never consider Fire as my Mark, only torn off about Entropy or Time.

Would you mind explaining the strategy behind this deck?

I'm pretty sure the cards put in it are for thematic purposes.

After careful consideration, I decided to create my own version of your deck.

Weapons have more varied effects and are capable of dealing with far more situations than shards. By playing 2 copies of each weapon, we can pulverize enemy strategies by simply topdecking whatever we need.

I put Pharaoh and Anubis so that Shard of Readiness don't go to waste and in turn Shard of Wisdom for creatures quinted by Anubis and Shard of Freedom for the generated Scarabs. That's why I chose Time over Entropy in my Mark. Other than that, I just rely on Shard of Serendipity/Shard or Integrity and in case of I am getting creatures with 0 ATK/Shard of Focus I boost them with Shard of Wisdom/Shard of Patience.

My initial version of this deck is even worse. I didn't put any creatures at all making Shard of Readiness really useless.

After careful consideration, I decided to create my own version of your deck.

The thing is, we can only play 1 weapon at a time, and there is neither Flying Weapon or Crusader there.

That doesn't matter when weapons have a much stronger attack/cost ratio than most shards and deal with far more circumstances than shards.

If you play all the weapons, you can deal with all the circumstances. It's flawless.

That deck would do worse than my Shard deck.

I get your sarcasm, but your post makes me think: What cards can't be obtained from Shard of Serendipity? Because as far as I recall, I never got other Shards from it.

Cannot produce shards, nymphs, or marks

I'd do -6 QP +6 skeletons to fully optimize shards.

Ah, I see. Thanks.

Why?

Because quanta is overrated meta trash. SoSac removes it anyway, so why not just improve efficiency by generating less quanta in the first place?
