Fire Lance sudden killer 1.25 (work with no upgrade, outdated) https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=6758.msg72309#msg72309
« on: May 21, 2010, 01:01:18 pm »
This deck doesn't work against FG's anymore, as quanta was capped at 75 in 1.29

I think this deck should be posted before
just to remind there are good non-rainbow anti-FG decks

Spoiler for Hidden:
Deck Helper comment:
This deck was posted before the 1.32 game update and as a result no longer works correctly.

it may be the best FG killer for newbie as it is much cheaper than rainbow
basically no upgrade are needed, just build this deck immediately after finished all quests
and all upgraded won't help too much, just let you set up the shields faster to prevent rush

it is the type that concentrate only on a few FGs(1/3 of all FGs), but with high win rate on them (more than 40%)

Piece of cake:
 Destiny
 Elidnis
 Ferox
 Fire Queen
 Incarnate
 Miracle
 Neptune
 Osiris
 Paradox

Challenging:
 Chaos Lord
 Gemini
 Dark Matter
 Divine Glory
 Morte

Skip:
 Decay
 Dream Catcher
 Eternal Phoenix
 Graviton
 Hermes
 Obliterator
 Octane
 Rainbow
 Scorpio
 Seism

The strategy is simple, and boring
all you have to do is put down a phase shield every 3 turns
keep pressing space bar until you draw the last card of your deck
power 6 fire bolts in one turn and kill the FG in a second

normally you'll have to start the shields when 18-19 cards left in your deck
so if the phase shields chain do not break,
you should have go through all cards in your deck and there are no other probability to lose

Interesting strategy...  I'll want to add this to my testing list in the future, upped, and unupped to see how well it works...

Initial thoughts:

As you noted, permanent control FG's will clean the house with you by either wiping out towers or shields... so there's nearly no point in playing them at all.

With 9 towers, you'll be averaging a card every 3.444 cards, so utilizing that generalization, you'll end up with on average 120 fire quanta on your last draw (119 from towers and 1 from nova),  (2 quanta from your first turn, then adding an additional fire quanta generation every 3.44 cards you draw).

The cost of an unupped Fire Lance is 3 quanta, so the damage would result in:
Lance 1:     34 damage
Lance 2-4:  33 damage each
Lance 5-6:  30 damage each

Total damage: 195 damage.

You're a bit short, but assuming you get the Farenheit at 50% of the way though the deck (on average), you should more than make up for the 5 damage you're missing.  Again, this is only an "average" of how the will perform by the numbers...

I'm curious... why the Reflective Shield and Sundial?  It looks like the only reason Nova is in there is to activate those two cards, which takes up another card slot... do those two cards have some level of significance against specific FGs?

Btw, you mentioned that no upgrades are needed, but you have SoG's in the deck... so at least two upgrades are necessary if you feel that SoG's are key items...

Nice idea for a deck!  I'm curious to see some stats if you decide to test it rigorously...

thanks for your detailed data
but some correction, for 1 fire bolt
110 quantum can deal 33+3=36 damage
120 quantum can deal 36+3=39 damage

the upped version I'm using are fire lance that only cost 1, so 110 quantum will be enough

for non-upped version, 116 quantum  is minimum
SOG will be replaced by pillars

the reflective shield is critical for handling the reflective shield and jade shield
target yourself with fire bolts, then you can pass through the shields and get 4 more FGs:
Elidnis  Ferox   Miracle  Paradox

the sundial is only for getting the benefit from nova and preventing out of phase shields
but remember don't draw card with it if you deal with the above 4 FGs

The SOGs are not key items, but can help you get more FGs:
Fire Queen  Osiris  Morte  Gemini
to overcome their poison, momentum and direct spell damage
besides, for those have momentum creatures, you'll have to use fire bolt on creatures and rely on your Farenheit

In fact I played this deck more than 3 months and farmed thousand of FGs
I haven't noted down any statistic but so far it made me very rich now
I am sure the win rate for those FG I picked have more than 40%, some are even higher
In most situation, if you put down your 1st phase shield when you left 15-16 cards in your deck
more than 80% you are going to win

Might it be more effective to dump the nova and sundial for a Ray of Light/Immolation?  There is the drawback of needing two cards in conjunction to get your one of every quanta, but the RoL alone can get the reflective shield out, and immolating it gains you that extra 9 fire.

it's good, but the creamation give you 1 light for the reflective shield already
so why don't have a phoenix?

sundial save you for 1 more turn
creamation give you 1 turn faster to launch the missiles

I think both ideas have their own advantage

Before doubting your deck big time
9/24 god is do-able, with a win rate of 40% (quoting you)
So average win rate is about 15%

Now to analyse your deck against the 9 gods you listed, since the only advantage over ANY deck that is half decent (not meaning rainbow / rol Hope) is that it can be run fully un-upped

> 5 aether tower, a late tower will mean chain shield breaking = splat
> Ferox Miracle Eldinis are generally fast = splat
> Osiris has momentum = splat
> You need to draw all card to have a chance to win = splat
> Almost half of the 9 god have reflective shield, low early win = splat

Now quoting you again, if piece of cake only gets 40%, you might want to re-think the feasiblitiy, and naming it the best deck for a newbie.
This deck is truly for a newbie, for a newbie shouldnt know how to play the game much... (I would hope piece of cake to be 80%...)

Alternatively, I definitely suggest trying SG's un-upped rainbow / Essence 2 for 2 (I made the name up) ~ to start your farming

Good day!

as the phase shield can hold 3 turns
with the mark, you only need 1 aether pillar to run the chain
normally the fast FG beat you in about 5-6 turns
so drawing 1 aether pillar only in your top 10 cards is ok
of course this not always happen
upgrade can greatly improve this situation
in fact most of the lose games are because of this

Osiris is not as difficult as you think,
just use some fire bolts on the momentum creatures and hit with Farenheit
if you have SOG, the low damage won't be a problem

this deck is not decided for early win
with 6 phase shield + 1 sundial you're able to draw the 20 cards from your deck
probably you can draw all cards that needed to win

ya, it is time consuming and boring
and I'm sure this deck is not as effective as rainbow
but you just don't need to think what to do and care what the AI do each turn
also to some specific FGs, its win rate can be higher than rainbow

I know some stat is better than thousand of startegies
I'll try to note some later

screenshot with trying the phoenix and creamation instead of nova
no great difference

Funny deck... its the perfect deck if you like to play elements while doing something else.

An advice for the numb like me:  I realize it while playing the deck...don't play your nova to early because each SoG you play after is a risk that you'll not be able to play your precious reflecting shield (in some case)

I used this kind of deck before, but my strategie was a bit different. I played 2 fahrenheit (couldn't get the damn third), and I relayed principaly on the fahrenheit instead of decking all cards. Agaisnt momentum, I targeted the creatures with a bolt. As thoose gods usualy have no healing, having a fahrenheit in the first 15 turns in enough to kill them.

Speaking about strategie, seism is killable with this kind of deck. Playing your towers only one after another. Thanks to fahrenheit, with only around 40 fire quantum, if you got it early, it will slowly kill him. Aether quantum from the beginning of the game will be more than enough to take him out.

So just by adding one fahrenheit you can relay one a second strategie : Slow fahrenheit killing. Or combine the two to make an half slow, half sudden kill^^.

you get the point!
I always keep browsing other web site while playing this deck.

of course you can replace SOG with fahrenheit

you only want to keep 6 phase shield, 6 fire lance and 1 reflective shield
eg. you can have fire mark and adjust the number of towers
or use cremation instead of nova
just change everything and test it if you like

hope that more people can test and give some stat of this deck
I think the win rate is something higher than what I've mention
