Title: 25/1 Dragon?! (inspired by Surprise Attack)
Post by: Azume on April 03, 2010, 08:49:50 pm
Here is another fun PvP deck  ;D

Basically, you stall until you have all the necessary cards, then kill them in one turn.
the combo is Cremate 1 Ray of Light, then use Momentum on Light Dragon + 2 Rage Elixors giving you a 25/1 Momentum'ed dragon, then TU them giving you 4 dragons 25+25+25+25=100  ;D

Another variation is to replace 2 RoL with light towers for consistancy (thanks to CB!) I think this one is better because if they had a fire shield, its over.

You should probably learn how to color inside the lines too :-p

It's an interesting deck though... I wish there were more OTK decks...

Edit: The downside to this deck is that there are eight cards needed for the combo, and if any of them happen to be at the bottom of the deck you'll have a tough time. You can still get by with only some of the necessary cards, it would just be very difficult to get what you need for an OTK.

Maybe throw in Hope for a dial? Always good to have more defense, even if it's not carddraw. Just because it's the best light shield there is, and it'd probably get up to at least 3 or 4 while you search for all the key cards.

I think you meant to say Hope. ;)

OTK decks are always risky, as they nearly always need lots of cards to make a combo. IF you can start off with a few of them, happy days, but if their all in the bottom, you're going to have a hard time.

I myself had been coming up with a similar idea, but I used multiple basilisk bloods, and lots of rage potions. I never found it very effective, due to the basilisk waiting time. Yours seems to not need this

Its obviously not for noobs, with the upgrades and all, but I imagine it being very fun to play

I don't think hope would be wise, since your pretty tight on light quanta anyway with the light dragon and sundials. What you do with this deck is actually draw as fast as possible, but I usually don't use the sundials until I'm sure I'll die if I don't. Also, key cards on the bottom would not matter that much, since you can use the combo and kill them with your last draw :D
btw what does OTK mean?

One Turn Kill

Light Dragons are now 12/12, this deck won't really work, unless you swap an elixir for a regular potion

Nope.

But an Untoppable Light Dragon double Raged quartet is.

How can you not love a pure combo deck. But it would be very bad if just one of the cards you needed was at the bottom.

It doesn't matter if a card you need is on the bottom, you can just stall until you get to it, and play it when you get it

Nice job with the deck... +karma for the sweet OTK combo...

Slight variation... :)

LOL... I just had the absolute worst draw with this deck... ALL 4 of my aether towers were at the bottom of the deck...

I've had that happen with the orignal Surprise Attack deck before the Sundial nerf. Worst part was, it was in a PvP match. >.<

Unstoppable. It's like unstoppable.

That was mean. Sorry. But yeah the first card in the deck is an unstoppable(upgrade of momentum). It bypasses shields.

This deck wouldn't function without 3 Twin Universes, you do realize that.

And you can NEVER have too many TUs. :) Except maybe in this deck.

Lol this tempts me to put a shard of divinity in every PvP deck I build. Commendable thinking on your part for coming up with this OTK nevertheless.

I'm tempted to create this in PVP. I imagine people would be somewhat miffed if I pulled this off at them.
Its main weakness is sundials. If you have drawn your last card, and its that Light Dragon you've been waiting for all game, you're going to be annoyed if he has a sundial out. However, with no real attacking force on the field, it is unlikely this will ever happen

Dials don't really see much use in PvP anymore with the nerf.

And you'll probably have already lost by the time you draw your last card :-p

Yeah, 4 quints. Thats a lot, and Aether quanta is often short in this deck.

Good deck. But why must use Precognition? U must use it 6 in a game. Plus, adding light quanta with Ray of Light is useless 'cause you'll be on the end if Rain of Fire is coming. I recommended to increase light pillar, add 1 protect artifact<this useful for protect your light pillar>, reduce Precognition and fill it up with Shard of Gratitude/ Miracle/even Shard of Divinity. Hope help. <if not, just quote it :D >

You draw a card when you play Precognition. It's essentially playing a 24 card deck, making it that much faster.

Using RoLs is kinda the point; you don't need to waste a card on Protect Artifact. Fire Storms may be annoying, but all you need is 10 :light and you're good to go.

Light Dragons cost 13? Am I missing something?

What icy said about Pregog is perfectly correct. Regarding the RoLs, if you want, you can swap 2 RoLs for 2 Light Towers. Gives more consistency, as not many decks have lots of both Permanent and Creature control (Fire Mono may be a slight issue)
