PvP World Championship - RULES

If it doesn't already exist (I didn't see one) how about a thread that includes people who qualify for the next WC, and add people as they are qualified.  That way, people can know who's in the running, as well as step up their own game if they see they haven't qualified yet.

I started a list, but I don't have access to the weekly tournament winners gdoc anymore.

(Also, those lists of qualifications Oni wrote are silly...)

I move for WC to be postponed until January.
A) allows future wcs to consider a full calendar year.
B) though the organisers seem to disagree, wc DOES require great time and effort to do well in usually, and it is hugely detrimental to the integrity of the highest level of solo pvp of the forums that all players are speedbuilding because of war.
C) people dont even have time for speedbuilding their matches in some groups.
D) seems all players agree with this and only organisers disagree

All players agree there should never be rules, that deadlines are imaginary, and that it's perfectly fine for finals of an event to end while the next year's is happening? I heard pretty much everybody say that the final should have been played earlier and deadlines should be stricter. You are trying to tell me that in 3 whole weeks you don't have any time at all to build 5 decks?

Two seperate things. By all means enforce deadlines, but do it when the entire commjnity doesnt have a f-ton of other stuff to do.
I built 4 decks and was very very lucky. Later rounds you need to analyse ALL the possible decks and try to corner your opponent knowing ingenious counters to all their possible decks in latter stages of matches.
They are my fave matches on the forums and SHOULD NEVER be speedbuilt

Also, i didnt want to use same decks all matches. I wanted to personalise my matches depending on my opponents tendancies and what they brought in games 1 and 2 and 3. But to do that i would have needed to build 20 decks not 4

I wouldn't mind this tbh. I was hoping to prepare a bit as well and not have to speedbuild. But that's pretty difficult with war and other stuff to do outside of EtG. Can we just do a poll on this? Doing it in January doesn't mean it has to be delayed too much beyond that, there's no reason it should clash with next year's events. Those months are pretty light in terms of other EtG stuff happening, so it'd be nice to have something to do then rather than cramming everything into 1-2 months.

Playing 2017 WC in2018? Seems legit...organisers are giving plenty of time to make the decks and play matches really.

I'm fine with how it is honestly... The deadline has been ages, so I don't see why a month or so isn't long enough to build 5 decks...
