Another tourney, another tourney rng. Yeah, I can already hear it, your decks aren't good enough,
look at other decorated players, luck doesn't really matter (in a game of cards, lol), your decks matter,
yadayadayada, I know it all.

If I would just lose plainly, while realizing that, "hey, his/her deck is awesome, why haven't I thought about it?",
I would totally shut up. (It adds to the pain that I had other good decks - used by others, too.)

0-2 against DANIEELA

0-1 Adren/Charger/Otyi
Spoiler for Hidden:
Let's see. If you have 4 copies of a card in your 30 cards deck, then the chance to get one in your opening hand is 67,69%.
To get one until turn 9 is 95,02%. I got my first Charger in turn 11. Thanks. (Meanwhile I admit that I should have used one more charger, one less otyugh,
but I wanted to have more cc-edge.) And you know what's the true irony of the situations? We had to restart, because DANI didn't get connected to
the game (I was in, comp has taken over her deck in turn 1) - and I had a pretty good starting hand there... After that the usual stuff: restart, bad hand.

0-2 Sadist Deck
Spoiler for Hidden:
Seeing that all of the needed cards are support cards... It was really hard not to use this deck. So I did. DANI absolutely expected it,
was very cautious from turn 1 (seeing only aether towers). After 8 turns I had to play out that 1st Quint+SoW combo on that Frog. And that was the game.
Because I got only 1 SoW from 17 friggin' cards while having 6 copies in the deck. I admit, DANI's deck contained so much creatures that it would have given
a hard time this deck in normal conditions, too. But to lose like this. Infuriating.

Actually, most matches in this game are decided by the opening hand RNG, so there's not much you can do except make your decks as consistent as possible, and sometimes even that is not enough :/

Most skill in this game is during deckbuilding, rarely does it matter how well you play during the actual game as long as you're at least better than the AI.

You can either deal with it or spread the salt. Please don't do the latter.

I'm not sure what method you use to calculate draw chances, but I'm coming up with different values for your Oty/Adren/Charger scenario.  Perhaps you're interested in comparing notes on how you arrive at the draw chances you posted so we can put our heads together and one (or both!) of us can become more accurate in deckbuilding for the aspect of opening draw calculations.? I use hypergeometric distribution calculation approach (just to kick things off).

I use hypergeometric distribution calculation approach (just to kick things off).

(1-((26!/19!)/(30!/23!)))*100=68% (chance to get it in opening hand)
(1-((26!/11!)/(30!/15!)))*100=95% (chance by turn 9)
(Chance not to draw card in opening hand)
(1-P(Unfav)=P(Fav))
(26/30 * 25/29 * ... * 19/23)
Repeated for 2nd expression too

Opening hand is 1/3 chance not to get it, which is astronomically high compared to what a deck like that would like. Comparatively, 5 copies gives 1/4 not to be in opening hand, and 6 copies is a bit less than 1/5. It's not terribly surprising not to get one such card in opening hand, and is why I like to run more creatures than buffs. Even looking at that deck I would definitely trade 1 Oty for another Charger. Also, I'd get rid of a bunch of Adrens for Mito and Heals. Heals makes the deck much more consistent as well, giving more survivability. Which this deck certainly appreciates, if not requires. Sure it has Oty, but those are slow and you'll be dead anyway against a strong rush deck.
