Rules Please read the PvP Tournament rules carefully before joining the tournament. Remember to also read the Special Rules listed below!

NOTE: You need just one presentable forum post to be allowed to join tournaments; you can post it here. If this will be your first tournament, a Tournament Organizer will test your knowledge about the rules. So please be present in tournament room 30 minutes before the tournament starts.




Special Rules

• Always read the second post! It contains equally important information most of the time.
• Upgraded cards and Shards are banned.
• Discord, Earthquake, Nova, Immolation, Devourer, Fire Bolt and Dimensional Shield are banned.
• Pillars, Pendulums and Mark cards may be used freely.
• Exactly half your non-Pillar/Pendulum/Mark cards must be spells.
• Additionally, for each of the following "CC spells", your deck must include a Creature:

Q: Can I get an example deck?
A: Sure, here is a deck that illustrates the rules nicely. Note how the amount of non-Pillar/Pendulum/Mark card Permanents are maxed out for the spells chosen:

A: If it has attack and hp it is a Creature (including Chimera), if it has a lightning bolt at that place it is a Spell (including Nymphs Tears) and otherwise it is a Permanent.

No. At least not for the purposes of this tournament.
It can certainly be used as such, but it's hardly worth packing in a dedicated stall. And those stalls are why those "CC" spells are restricted in their usage.

This rule does not override the one before it where half the deck is spells, so I'm not sure how you were planning on more than one.

The rules say half the deck is spells, yes, but half the deck is not necessarily CC spells. Say you have 10 pillars in a 30 card deck, 10 of the cards must be spells. Of those, anywhere between 0 to 10 of them may be CC. Therefore, if you had 6 ice bolts (CC) and 4 purifies (Not CC), Then the rule states that you must have at least 6 creatures in your deck. but there are still 4 spaces for non-spell cards, and you can place either creatures or permanents (except pillars) in those spots thus allowing you to have more creatures than CC spells but still having half the non-pillar cards be some kind of spell

I don't see how the example presented contradicted anything I said. You include creatures for CC spells, and may include more for your non-CC spells. So in a sense, you'd be including exactly one per CC spell.

But... that would make it so that half of your non-pillar/pend/mark cards are not, in fact, spells. You'd have more creatures than spells if you dropped in, say, two creatures per spell.
