Today the show is over. The world ends. The cities grow grey. The winged creatures surround the sky.

Today our armies were defeated. Young and full of hope they were. All turned to dust.

Today I walk alone, to witness the end. The pain of my own defeat shames me, and I know this is my fault, and I bear the consequences. What I did wasn't enough, not for me. Not for my comrades.

Today I rest in dejection, holding my pistol up high. A tear drops from my eye, as I reflect upon my mistakes. There was one thing left in such a situation. I pressed the gun towards my head. It was time.

I pause. Was I ready for this?

There was nothing left in this world for me. Everywhere, and everyone I knew was decimated.
