Title: Pixelated Platinum Decks
Post by: DoctorC on April 07, 2017, 08:09:09 am
Hi, I'm Niels, False god of terrible timing and I decided to start this thread before my military situation is settled. I can assure you, however, I have a good reason for it - I got new nymph today and thought of her as a good opportunity to create this thread.
...
I should've waited probably. Still though, it's a good practice for me (especially since my first deck here is gonna be a nymph deck and I really, REALLY need to learn to draw women).

All the decks here are going to be drawn. Whether I post it or not is entirely different question though =P

Even if they aren't drawn, or you aren't able to settle your military situation, I'll still be waiting for these awesome interpretations.

:life Eveline, the Nymph of Growth :life

Eveline represents the power that keeps this going and growing. With power for accelerating the growth of plants and creatures, Eveline can create massive forests of almost unearthly beauty in no time, which makes her very popular in villages of elementals that rely strongly on farming crops or breeding cattle.

Yay for the first entry!
Obviously, when it comes to hard-hitting :time creatures with a high price, obvious choice is to go with creature+SoR+Mitosis. Evie did a good job fighting in the arena. I'm proud of her.
As for the drawing, it's not my favorite piece of work, but it's the best I can do when I'm asked to draw a woman. (Should've added a flower in Evie's hair)
Her name isn't a RE7 reference, what are you talking about.

Rhulvur was a golem, that went out of control of his own master. Not only the master and his opponent were cursed to wither away, but entire battlefield was reduced to nothing in a giant explosion. Now, whenever Rhulvur has shown his presence, everything around would corrupt, cursed or destroyed

Okay, I confess, I messed this up. Golems are usually made of stone, while this thing... Not quite. The Idea of Rhulvur went much, much better in my head than it did on the pixels.

 :death Tyrris, Savage Otyugh :death

Tyrris was a slave otyugh on a small, forgotten by False Gods themselves island, until one day he discovered an ancient relic - Necromancer's gemstone. Tyrris found great power within the gem: Not only he became stronger than any of island's residents, but he also possessed powers of summoning undead warriors. With this new power, he overthrew the island's elder and forced everyone into submission. Tyrannic otyugh fought everyone who was foolish enough to stand against him, inevitably defeated them, and devoured the bodies, only leaving the bones, which then would be used for making skeleton-slaves. As time went on, Tyrris grew more and more suspicious to his subjects. He started eating them for smallest mistakes, until one day there wasn't anyone to rule over, except for ever-loyal and ever-silent skeletons. Living alone for so long, Tyrris lost his sanity and became savage

Other than that, it was actually kinda fun to draw this. I was going for unupped otyugh, but very muscly, and then for some reason it became this almost tribe-like creature. None-the-less, I enjoy it c:

:light Wobbles, a winged frog :light

Wobbles is believed to be pet of famous Life Nymph. Little winged frog adored her owner and was loved in return. Life, however, has its weird ways and by Ferox' blessing little Wobbles turned into a giant frog. Wobbles and her nymph eventually got separate ways, which lead wobbles to become a mother to a whole swamp of various frogs.

Sorry for weird lore, I don't know how to make it cool.
A first chance in forever to make a good deck, and I goofed it. =l
The deck itself was really good, if I'm honest, but the image and lore kinda brought it down for me. But, at least, I got to make a life deck, which is always a good thing.

:time Apheru, ancient time thief :time

Apheru was known for plaguing lands of ancient egypt with swarms of terrifying desert insects, such as scarabs or scorpions. After causing untold destruction, Apheru would offer a deal to pharaohs of cities he'd come across: He could take back the damage, but everyone in the city would sacrifice half of their time on earth to prolong Apheru's own life. If that seems cruel to you, remember, some kings agreed to make this deal

Apheru has been gone for centuries now, however. Well, that is to say, no one remembers seeing him for centuries.

I need to rewatch Mummy again, it's a cool meme
This took me surprisingly painful amount of time to draw. But I am happy with this.
Skin color kinda matches dune scorpion's scale better than actual human skin. The spear is sorta combination of claw-themed Eternity and momentum of a sprinting spearman, if that makes sense. I also added black hole and an ankh.

Wild cockatrices aren't hostile, or violent. But then, wild cockatrices don't spit fire either. Klawk is terrifying even to his own species. It's almost always hostile and takes great enjoyment in hunting and killing. Klawk is able to set objects on fire and leaves ashened trail wherever it goes. Despite the size, Klawk is quick and vicious in its attacks

Umber began as a story, similar to boogeyman of sorts. Umber was said to steal children's toys, cause nightmares and sometimes even cause especially naughty kids to lose senses. However, time has changed, and so did Umber: stories aren't enough to keep little elementals in bed at night anymore, people needed something more... real.

I really dunno what's the difference between male GotP and a female one. But hey, it went well.
Basically, this is darker version of GotP. I couldn't quite capture the nightmareness in my art, but I tried doing that with using missing parts of body and black ooze. Also that staff is staff of obsession. Dunno what it does, but it's probably edgy. Hope you like it.
(Also, it's probably the first deck to break above 200, I think.)

I notice 1 weapon in the deck and 1 animate weapon. I understand dexterity and animating stolen weapons but I still think the deck would have been better without the animate weapon. The 3 shards of void probably won't do much good with there just being three. In my opinion, with shards of void it's all or nothing. Reverse times and more steals (perhaps some more time towers but I haven't fight tested the deck so I can't balance it with any certainty) are good cards for filling up the empty space that would be created by removing the shards of void and the animate weapon. I wouldn't put one devourer in a deck but I'm no expert in using devourers.

Alternatively you could use 6 shards of void and take out some other cards.

Eternity and AW were there to kinda prevent the deck out. So was the devourer. Shards of void, while don't do much on their own in the deck, still help a bit. Nothing wrong with having some SoVs in deck ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And, tbh, I feel like the decks in this thread don't have that high of a priority to begin with. Sure, they're bad, but I didn't even say they were gonna be great.

Quote
[The decks] probably aren't gonna be as amazing though.

The main priority (for me, at least) aren't decks themselves, but the drawings of decks. So, decks can be a little sloppy from time to time, which you'll see in the next deck.

That said, thanks for providing constructive criticism c:

Storm knights are the special type of Firefly Elementals, who remained their humanoid appearance and in return got blessing of Miracle himself. Storm knights' main purpose is to spread the will of the False God of Light. Hemin became a storm amazon relatively recently, as these creatures have prolonged lifespan, but she is a quick learner, and she has a lot of patience.

I'm gonna take a break from drawing plat for a while. For some reason I find myself struggling with new creatures and I feel like I need to catch a breath

 :air Aenor, an archer  :air

Aenor is a famous huntress in the woods of Elemental forests. She's young and skillful, energetic and stealthy. Aenor combines traits that are incredibly rare on their own, let alone in synergy inside a young huntress.

:aether Asteli, a nymph from the future  :aether

While most of the Time elementals remain from ancient times (or at the very least, lived long past ordinary elelemtals), on occasion we receive elementals that were brought from the future, such as Asteli.

I was surprised to see this deck actually living. I mean, it's basically Lionheart, one of the easiest FG there are, yet here she is, fighting quite successfully

Morven: Morven is a water lieutenant in the army of Neptune, the aquatic False God. Morven is well known for his patient approach to his enemies and magnificent schematic abilities. Patience wins, and Morven knows it better than anyone else

Baahk: A perfect representation of what you call a Golem would be Baahk - strong, fierce, ruthless, powerful. A perfect combat machine.

I'm Baahk. (Sorry, that was bad)

Arite, so I took 6 deck-weeks of not drawing decks and skipped writing lore for the last one. Now, however, I came back in full force from a plat hiatus and even brought all six decks along. Hope you like them cuz I've spent a heccton of time on this.

:time Krudoth, an enlarged Antlion  :time

Krudoth is a known henchman of Seism. Like Seism himself, Krudoth tends to distract his opponents with multiple earthquakes, while he himself gathers strength to fight whoever dared to go against him.

Hmph. I didn't like this deck, however, not because it did bad (which it didn't), but because it's stupidly similar to Seism and we had to work around that. Result is basically an enlarged antlion, which, being honest, doesn't make sense, considering that the deck itself has literally no antlions.
Then again, EtG antlions aren't antlions either
Plus, same happened to Scorpio.

Seriously? What are we supposed to do with that that we haven't done yet?

Light Kingdom recruit special type of mounted units, Pegasi Knights. Most of Pegasi are archers due to their ability to fly, but sometimes there are some that prefer diving into battle with their swords and axes.

Drawing horses is difficult. So are people. And wings. ><

We also slacked from schedule by like two weeks, so there's that.
