Hi, fellas. I just came back from playing freshly made Cube Escape game and seems as no one talked about the series here before, I decided to start this topic.

Rusty Lake a game-dev company based in Amsterdam. As of today (23.03.2017), they've made 12 games, following the same kind of style and genre - point-and-click escape-the-room game. The difference from your normal point-and-click game is surreal and eerie atmoshpere: Birds laying black eggs, time travels, shadows soming to live and antropomorhic animals are all usual cases in the world of Rusty Lake.

Main series of the company is called Cube Escape and based around a simple task - to escape a cubical room. Task becomes less simple when reality starts to bend and corrupt by forces trying to interfere into the flow of time itself.

Game has a charming artstyle, incredible atmosphere and story, full of secrets and mysteries. If you're a fan of either of those, I recommend to play this game series very, very strongly.

The first few games were alright, but I started liking it more when they introduced a main character. He has an interesting storyline that arches over multiple games. He also has a likeable personality and I think his starting game was the first when the characters had actual voices during the dialogues. It was a nice change of pace from the developers.

The last game I played was the Theatre though, iirc. Didn't see any new installments on Kong after that.

Yeah, that's true. But the dev team did cover a lot in their premium games, though. They're cheap, but fantastic in telling stories about stuff that has been happening in Rusty Lake. I suggest checking them out, as well as new free game The Cave. (They've finally revealed my favorite character's name! ^-^)

I always wondered wether samsara room was part of the series,
or even if the developer is part of the rusty lake team (considering the shared elements, it seems very likely).
be quick- time is quanta.

Samsara Room was made by Rusty Lake dev team, but isn't actually a part of story of Rusty Lake. It can be probably called a pilot version of Cube Escape series.

I am glad that dev team made changes to the concept that was Samsara Room before making it into Cube Escape series. I mean, sure, Rusty Lake games have a lot of elements from Samsara Room, both Cube Escape and premium games, but those games have actually made something much, MUCH bigger and better.

Fun fact: At July 18, 2016 the Rusty Lake dev team put up this image to their facebook page with the following text:

Spoiler for Hidden:
"Let's try to catch this demon at Rusty Lake ..."

Context: At the time, Pokemon Go was trending. x)
