You’ll Explore the Galar Region!
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be set in Galar, an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked together to develop the industries here.

You’ll visit the various Gyms in the Galar region, aiming for the enviable and admirable title of Champion!

Grookey: Grass
Scorbunny: Fire
Sobble: Water

i'm really afraid that bunny turn out into fire/ground, the grass one look like a fanmade chimchar alternative artwork lol
water is probably the worst, so it means the last evolution will be supercool

Better than another Fire/Fighting starter

EDIT: Speaking of Fire starters, the Zodiac continues:

They didn't add Solrock and Lunatone to Sun and Moon. What are the chances they won't add Honedge and Shieldon to Sword and Shield?

Sobble has the ability to camouflage itself in water.

sounds like a greninja or kecleon's rip-off

That suggests Protean and Color Change as possible abilities. That would be lame though, so I hope they either think of a new ability, a new move, or make the guy Water-Ghost / Water-Psychic.

Things I would like to see:

- Ability: When attacked by a Water-type move, absorb the attack as HP, raise Sp.Atk by 1, then become untouchable for the next turn.
- Move: A Water-type Shadow Force, where the user disappears for the first turn, then strikes on the next turn. High physical damage. Hits through Protect.

  • No Mega Evos, No Z Moves, No Regional Variants (yet), just Dynamaxing. Apparently a leaker got everything right. Not entirely sure how to feel about the new gimmick, but it just looks like some janky combination of Mega Evolutions and Z Moves.
  • Wooloo looks like it's gonna be the Normal generic animal. Run Away seems like a useless ability.
  • Was hoping Gossifleur would be Grass/Fire, but it looks like it's just going to be Jumpluff 2. It's 2nd(?) Evolution is still Grass, so I might be right?
  • Dreadnaw's okay, I guess. Looks like it could be some type of bulky Shell Smash sweeper.
  • Corvknight looks pretty cool. Also looks like it would be great against the Grass type Gym.
  • Leon looks like he could have an Aegislash in his team. Probably the purples. (Watch him be the antagonist.)
  • Hop's parents must've hated him to give him that name.
  • The new professor is okay, but her granddaughter is a waifu.
  • where the fuck is milo's nose?
  • Max Raid Battles seem okay, but I'm slightly worried you have to pay for online in order to have access to them. (inb4 some people start throwing)
  • Free camera control's okay, but why wasn't it implemented earlier? Also Wild Area seems decent. Will probably end up Pokemon hunting mostly at night for Ghost Pokemon. Speaking of Ghost Pokemon, here's hoping for more of them.
  • The legendaries look too similar to each other, but Sword Doggo is pretty cool. I'm thinking the third legendary has something to do with that Giant in the other trailer.

This design is so good, but I'm worried that the Pokémon will suffer from Vikavolt stats.

I'm fairly confident that the popular opinion is globally as follows:
  • Corviknight looks badass.
  • Wooloo looks cute. So much floof, would pet.
  • The professor looks like the Queen of England.
  • Sonia is hot.
  • Zacian (Sword) is more popular than Zamazenta (Shield).
  • The legendary designs are kinda bland.
  • Hop is a silly name for a rival. Will be hard to take him seriously.
  • Mirio suffers from what I'd call babyhead.

It's also a popular opinion that Wooloo might evolve into a ram and get a Steel or Rock typing. I expect it to stay pure Normal.

After hearing in Drednaw's pokédex entry about it biting through rock and iron, my mind started racing. This can be done in 2 cool ways and in some other, lame ways.
Cool methods:
  • A Fighting or Ground type Bite attack. They are both super effective against Rock and Steel (iron).
  • An ability similar to Freeze Dry, where an extra super effectiveness is slapped on to the attack.
Lame methods:
  • Water bite.
  • No new bite move.

And I guess Dynamaxing is a thing now. It will take up an item slot, so megas and Z-s cannot be mixed with them, but it will be terrifying to know that now each team can have 1 Mega, 1 Z, and 1 Dynamax. Protect and Detect might have more relevance now than ever.

Alright Ill be the first to say it.
I think most of the new pokemon yall are talking about look lame.
Corviknight looks like a pidgy spearow love child that got dipped in black paint.
Now, i should disclose Ampharos is my fav pokemon of all time so i might be biased. Wooloo looks like a hippy mareep. I dont like it.
The legendaries do seem a little bland, but I do kinda like the sword/shield design. Toss Haxorus in there and its like an armory.
Dreadnaw looks like a Blastoise/Feraligator mix. But i do like it. If his shiny looks like Bowser I will eat a sock and be happy about it.

The characters and new mechanics i know nothing about so i wont comment on them. I will quote Insig whenever i can tho and say "The new professor is okay, but her granddaughter is a waifu."
