Grey Crusader

Hi guys,
Some of you may have tried and remember the Grey Crusader videogame I've made for Team Time's Round #1 Boss Submission in the 1st Forum Brawl. So, I decided to post here a link for a newer version of the game, with a few more stuff (like music), slightly better graphics and many bugs fixed.

Story:
Within the borders of Kingdom of Light and Forest of Life lies the city of Jadespring, where justice prevails under its rightful leaders, known as the Wise Druids. However, this was about to change. A massive army forged with creatures of Death and Darkness is leaded by Necromancers that seek to conquer and pillage Jadespring. Unfortunately, they are successful. Where humans or beasts lived, now there are only streets empty of life, occupied by shadows and the undead. The Necromancers have sacrificed plenty of prisoners in order to feed their Vampires and strengthen their armies with new undead minions. There is no one able to stop them. Is there?
 There is indeed someone able to save them...
In this dire situation, the Wise Druids, by the aid of their god Ferox manage to summon a worthy follower of Light, the leader of the order of Divine Glory, who is known only as the Grey Crusader. That Crusader is the only person capable of destroying the dark and deadly forces that lurk within the city. By entering the city through a secret passage revealed to him by the Wise druids, the Grey one is ready to free Jadespring from the Death & Darkness menace once and for all!

This is much fun, as i could testify. Well, just don't expect very smooth graphics like commercial games.

What did you use to make this?

Game Maker 8.0 Lite(Free) Edition. I actually use the same version of Game Maker to make my neat CI&A deck images (PM me if you wish to make you one ).

I am going to improve it in the future by adding more ETG creatures, more weapons (hope to include every rare weapon as a weapon choice), more areas, more quests, (slightly) better graphics, and maybe ways to lose respect instead of gaining; if you respect would went really negative, you would become Dark Crusader or Anti-Crusader (or something like that) and instead of emmiting light your character would emmit darkness around him.

only played the tutorial so far, but I noticed a few things:

-have the next 'box' in the conversation coming on 'press space' rather than 'keyboard: space'
-Maybe your speed should slightly increase, so you can control your character better (it feels really sticky now)
-99 electrum max seems a bit low seeing the costs.
-allow multiple purchases at once (or did i miss this?), like shift+click = purchase 10
-have the monster sprites 'precise collision checking', it will cause you hitting the enemy look way smoother.

finally, I have full edition; any way i can help you with this?

 I suppose you mean on GameMaker actions & events. I will consider it...
-Maybe your speed should slightly increase, so you can control your character better (it feels really sticky now)
In 2nd version, you can use "-" or "+" of your keypad to increase/decrease gaming speed. It is also mentioned once in the tutorial by Cornelius.
-99 electrum max seems a bit low seeing the costs.
It is on purpose like that. In this game, every single weapon shot is precious (before unlocking the doors in 'The Arrival' area at least) and I want the player to spend time in visiting previous areas and purchasing the needed equipment to overcome any future challenges.

I haven't thought about it. I don't think it is needed, since you rarely have the cash to do a big amount of shopping, but I may include it in future versions, ty.

I am still working in some of the masks (collision sprites) of both monsters and weapons.

finally, I have full edition; any way i can help you with this? You actually don't need the full version to help me, since I've made it with Lite Edition. I have no taboos in granting you the source code to mess with it. But in terms of help, you've already provided a fair amount of suggestions and feedback, so if you have any more ideas don't hesistate to post, ty.

I already got the "old" version and enjoyed it a lot, i was positively impressed by it and i can't wait to try this one out.
