My current (major) team of 40's include my 5-star Lilina (Fire Mage Goddess with inherited skills!), Corrin (Female blue dragon), Athur (Axeman), and Lissa (Healer).

I am a fan of fire emblem and have heard mixed reviews on how good/bad this one is.

I definitely give this game a 9/10, if not a 4/5 star rating. Free to play and pretty addictive depending on the heroes you use. Plus, if you like Fire Emblem or are interested in the series, this is a nice mish-mash of all the heroes of those games that allow you to play the main characters or lesser known NPCs within those games - you can use a ninja maid, a lightning breathing dragon (disguised as a human, obviously), a variety of swordsmen/women, mages, healers, archers, and tanks, and whatnot. :D

I absolutely agree with Kuro. While I've heard it's not quite the same as Fire Emblem, I think that's no surprise. It is quite well done and highly addicting on the go. I'd say it has some potential to improve and there are several updates that are coming this month alone. The developers seem to also pay attention to the community and in the 2nd month or so after release, one would expect nothing less.

Definitely a game worth at least trying out once.

New Grand Battle out today: Zephiel! Probably one of the best so far.

Also, the game is now in version 1.2.0. Changes include:

Energy cap changed from 50 -> 99! This is huge!Sacred Seals have been introduced!Units can now be rearranged before battle starts!

Make sure to check the current quests as some even give Sacred Seals, extra Orbs and even some units!

Let me give you one scenario:

Suppose you don't have a good duelist/tank (like me), but you DO have a pretty badass nuker. Enter, Lilina:

The purpose of having sword/lance/axe breaker skills on ranged units is that usually, those ranged units (such as my mage above) are pretty damn weak to one of them. Swords users tend to be extremely fast [coughLUCINAcough], and as such, my main damage dealer would be demolished very quickly if they got within range to kill her. By having the B-slot passive though, my red tome user can take out Lucina via a double attack (with no possible retaliation at 2 range) and a majority of sword users (assuming she has +70% HP), which is huge, given that there are a lot of sword characters in the game.

While it would be equally viable to place the Swordbreaker on a blue mage/lancer, giving it to my fire mage makes her far more of a threat to various types (swords, axe users, wind mages, green dragons, low resistance units, etc.).

Do any vets have suggestions to someone just starting out? I'm on chapter 6 and can't decide if I want a bowman or a priest, or if I should switch, or what. Can post pics if requested.

Given how obsessed I am with this game, you should name your main heroes (aside from Anna, Sharena, and Alfonse :P ) that you're using. Specifically name any 5 star units that you have, and if you want, post screen shots of any 4-5 star unit if you want IV calcs. ;)

Here's a couple of good sites that I use for general purposes - you don't need to follow their guidelines per se, but the tier lists make sense given what skills they have, not factoring in additional skill inheritance/seal equips/etc:

Personally, I generally have a healer on the majority of my teams to act as a support while my more tanky units can deal damage. Ideally, no matter what heroes you have, the theme should revolve around a strategy of one of the following (note - there's probably better strategies/discussion regarding this on other forums, so bear with me):


For the most part, the majority of players usually either use whatever 5* (five star) unit they first summon on their main team and try to either build around them, or absorb them in part of a greater strategy named above.

If you have Hector, Takumi, Lucina, Linde, Azura, Kagero, Julia, Ninian, or Tharja... you probably won't need as much help to advance past the normal/hard chapters. ^^;

Hm.

I'm just gonna list what I see on the top of my head and go from there:

Olivia (http://feheroes.gamepedia.com/Olivia) is one of the most common dancers that many newbie teams tend to include to get that double action, so she's fine to include on your team. HOWEVER, in later stages, you'll still need a strong fire/red unit, and unless your team is based off the 'nuke everything with ranged/super strong units', Olivia will not help in taking down any notable green units (specifically, Camilla, Hector, Julia, and Michaelis). You may want to try leveling up Lon'qu if you find yourself with Olivia being the last unit on the team.

Merric, the Wind mage, is fine. Just remember that if you plan on investing in him heavily for that sweet Excalibur skill (good against fliers, so you basically have a pseudo-archer on your team!), you should have a healer with Rehabilitate (http://feheroes.gamepedia.com/Rehabilitate) (NOT Sakura; try using Wrys or Lissa and get them to 4 star) to help him in more serious binds.

A healer is your best bet for now, given that your other archers (Niles, Virion) are too niche and weak to deal with most threats.

Shanna is... debatable.
Ideally, you want to find out strategies that synergize well when you're trying to mix and match heroes of different typings. Shanna reduces speed (which prevents your units from getting doubled), but her ATK is low and she needs to be in range of the enemies at the beginning of the foe's turn, which increases her chance of getting swarmed/killed. Her passive Desperation helps with that, but a bulky green unit can ignore the speed boost and one shot her anyway.

She's still a good melee unit, but my best friend and I are using Sharena 5* (him) and Corrin [F] the dragon user (me). Sharena's 5* skills reduce ATK by a significant amount to make her unintentionally tanky (good to have as a melee unit), while my Corrin is a debuffer that reduces the resistance of units she fights against in range (good to have when you have a kickass mage/tome user, since it helps guarantees kills even against units of the stronger color).

Since you have both of those heroes in your arsenal, you can choose to alternatively level them up and have a team with far more bulk/defenses (Sharena + Merric = Mage with high HP/ATK boost and tanky thanks to Sharena's damage reduction), or a more aggressive playstyle (Corrin[F] + Merric = enemies are more susceptible to dying by magic).
But ultimately it's up to you - your team will work fine for now, but hopefully you'll get more orbs and better units on the their list.

Make sure you do a full summon when you're starting off. Consuming 20 orbs for 5 units in one session > Consuming 25 orbs for 5 units for five separate sessions. Get your castle up to max level if possible as well.

Don't do any skill inheritence, hero sacrifices, or merging until you get AT LEAST 80 units in your hero box, or unless you have like, 8 copies of the same hero. [I wouldn't do it then still because you haven't encountered IV calculations yet, which is for later, so save your heroes just in case].

I've only got 60 heroes and I say vantage on just about anyone is going to help more than lon'qu. Especially on tanks!

Jaffar is a pretty good unit overall as a ninja, but again, if you're going for the more 'balanced' strategy, this might involve you removing your healer for a ranged physical damage dealer, which will need to weighed carefully pro and con wise.


In regards to 'IV' calcs, this is what I mean:

This calculator will help you determine what the stats are for a character that reaches level 40 at their current rarity level (3, 4, or 5 star units only; no one is gonna try to level up a 1 star rarity unit to max x) ). If you want to go for some more min-maxing strategies and/or determine whether a particular hero has a different stat distribution than is normal, use the above link to see if you have to compensate for any stat losses (or synergize with specific stat gains).

IVs follow a 'up 1, down 1' system, meaning stats are all balanced/normal, or, one stat in particular is boosted for lowering another. If your hero, for example, has extremely low SPD and normal-high ATK/DEF/RES/HP normally, having an IV spread of -SPD/+DEF for example will make them even slower, but far more tankier against the majority of melee threats, ninjas, and archers (physical damage dealers).

I'd like to point out that Individual Values, as Kuro was mentioning, are far more important than the rarity you get the unit at. You can find that you have a 3 star unit with an awesome IV spread, and on the other hand a 5 star unit with a horrible one. If you need any help finding out how to figure out the IV spread, feel free to ask myself or Kuro.

Oh and yes, feathers take forever to get. We know.

Camus, the Sable Knight has arrived in the latest Grand Hero Battle!

Make sure not to miss out! With Grani's Shield being able to nullify cavalry-effective hits on him, his powerful Gradivus lance which is able to respond at any distance and Goad Cavalry allowing him to increase the attack power of nearby cavalry units, he definitely shouldn't be missed!

An excellent unit for any Horse Emblem team!

It goes without saying the Tempest Trials have arrived!

Do your best with your best teams of heroes in order to get the many rewards available! Not to mention Masked Marth and the Quickened Pulse Sacred Seal! (if you can!)

Renewal/Falchion Heroes seem to do well as they always heal 10HP at the start of each round. Let me know how it's been going!

I feel like the FE Heroes is a compilation of spoilers for Awakening. Shame for those of you who didn't play awakening, because now it would probably seem boring.
Lucina appears in FEH, along with "marth" who looks exactly like her, which spoils that she isn't really marth.
It says in Lucina's description that she travelled through time to save the world, and is Chrom's daughter, which is meant to be one of the biggest plot twists in Awakening.
Virion's (and Cherche's) description reveals Virion is actually a lord, which isn't revealed in the game until the later chapters.
Cordelia's description implies that Sumia and the other Pegasus knights died, which I suppose isn't really a spoiler because it didn't (necessarily) happen in game, but it's still a mean thing to say.

From the Home page (where the castle background is) you should see the "Friend List Stone" at the bottom left. After you select it, click on the Search tab (the magnifying lens) to find your Player ID.

Grats on your Ike - if it has a +ATK boost, you're basically set regardless of whatever -stat you have. ^^; Also, I added you as well.

We've got a new summoning focus! Three new units from Path of Radiance have arrived, and they are immediately looking insanely strong.
In particular the new sword flier Elincia, with native death blow and ardent sacrifice, a weapon that appears to be a buffed Brave Sword+
I can see her quickly replacing palla's spot as the main red unit for flyer teams.

Finally in rank 20!

Adrift Corrin F is insane. She has the bulk to tank a Reinhardt hit, and basically kills everything when she initiates, except Summer Tikis which can be played around by chipping HP off by others first.

Water blessings helped to push average score into ~714 range, but I think this is the best I can do for now (no way to get to rank 21)
