I'd be interested too, but I'd also like a tutorial on how to connect with others on a server.

Personally I prefer it modless, but I can be persuaded to try one if the mod is good. (e.g: Rei's Minimap, Nether Portals with no loading time)

Rei's is a local mod ^^ I could agree with QoL mods like the Nether Portals one though.

I would love to play Minecraft with a community again. (the last time being 7 years ago lol)

I have tried a bit of pocket version when it came out on iPad, after a while I just can't stand the loneliness :'(

I would really like this.
Both survival and creative, as I had a lot of fun creating minigames some years back.

also, I've had the idea of making a commandblock-based EtG.
This is way too big of a project to start myself, but if we have more elementals working on it...

I haven't played online before, but would love to do it with you guys :D

There was a mod I used once on a server that let you view the explored map from a web browser. That would be kinda cool.

Cool, so we're on the order of at least 10 players, that's good to hear. Sounds like we generally agree to stick with Vanilla save for some QoL (Quality of Life) mods. If I go to make the server, I'll list out the mods we might consider so we can add/remove before starting. There are plenty of client-side mods that can make life better as well that I can put together for newer players.

There was a mod I used once on a server that let you view the explored map from a web browser. That would be kinda cool.

I have experience setting that up, happy to do it. We'll have to decide if we want to show player locations or not.

We probably also want to setup some basic rules. I assume this will be co-op, not going against each other in any way. In which case trolling/griefing will need to be forbidden. A lot of that is common sense, but doesn't hurt to explicitly state it.

Yeah, the joy of playing with a good community is not having to worry about trolls/griefers. But we should make that explicit and will whitelist the server.

I assume the server will be survival?

I remember a ... bukkit plugin (it wasn't bukkit but a later 'version' by other developers that did the same thing)
it was called 'multiverse', and allowed multiple mc-worlds to be ran on the same server.

This would allow both creative and survival.

Yep, running a multi-world server is pretty easy these days. I'm not sure it's a good idea for such a small group of players, though. It's definitely something we could discuss, though. It's just as easy to cordon off an area of the world where you are set to creative when you enter and back to survival when you leave. I think we should start as a survival only server to keep things simple and less fractured, though. Simple is best for a small community, I think. But I'm always open to trying other things later on. For example, I enjoy playing Skyblock and would love a Skyblock world.

I'd certainly be game for another server but under my current circumstances I can't join a server, but yeah there are a few nicer mods to add but vanilla is the most simple way. Also vanilla is getting pretty fleshed out now. I would recommend some community spawn but everyone are free to build a base away from spawn if they want, no griefing, and no pvp except in places deliberately designed for pvp if anyone is game, I don't know many simple mods that are just good for community servers.

As for sky block worlds I would start of with a simple survival world if the number of player grows and it becomes large scale maybe you can increase it to cater to different interests.

Sever is up and running at: mc.dek.im

It is whitelisted, so please post here or send me your Minecraft username if you want to log in.

I'm not sure how long we'll keep this first world up as we decide on mods and configurations. So consider this a temp world for perhaps the first week. After that I would like to say that our survival world is permanent and will never reset. We can discuss creative worlds and other special worlds, etc. But let's figure out what we want to do with our survival world first.

there are quite a few decisions we have to make.
For one, we need to decide what kind of server:
how big a part are communitybuilds?
What about pranks?
What seeds? or random?
if random, will it be made public?

I think we should start simple with one major community build that everyone contributes to. I think individual bases should consider how they will easily transport to the community build, perhaps via netherhub.

I think pranks should be allowed so long as they don't do any damage and aren't too laborious to cleanup.

I think the seed should be random and no one should have access to it.

another easy way to check your username is to open a singleplayer world,
type in anything in chat (default button: t), and press enter.

Also, it should be noted that the server will be reset soon(ish).

It's fun to document progress, from the bottom to the top :)

That said, I'm wondering if we should concentrate on a community base, might be more fun for everyone to work together instead of separately.

Based on the youtube channel Achievement Hunters, we can create a reward system for ourselves and various challenges to compete in.

For example, someone builds a maze, the others compete. The winner wins something that they named the Tower of Pimps, which is 4 gold block on top of an obsidian block.

And by the way, I have ideas that we can work on together, but I thought we'd also hold some in-game events and games too.

Title: Re: Elements Minecraft

In my opinion, everyone having separate bases that are distanced from each other kind of defeats the point of playing on a server. As for a community base/build, rather than haphazardly throwing things together from a bunch of different people, I think we should decide a cohesive idea that can be expanded on, customized, and will look clean. For example, a medieval fort with smooth stone walls, a village or small town, an underground complex, mountain base, etc.
Title: Re: Elements Minecraft

A village would be cool. We could each have our own houses with particular stuff/rooms, but then have community buildings for stuff that we all can use (like Enchanting, Furnaces, Farms, etc.). Designing it in a way that is easy to navigate and has a "town" feel to it would be awesome.

first off, are we going to reset this server soon-ish or not?

secondly, I personally really want to make a 'massive' base in a multiplayer world,
but I cant build it at just any spot. I need a round valley.
Resulting in my base possible being quite a few blocks over.
Currently, im building a house in a valley in between savannah mountains, at (380, 66, 530)

EDIT: actually, my house is very close to the new village square.
it's at the beginning of the savannah, south of the plains.
I'd like to claim the entire mountain ring around my starterhouse for my base,
but the village might be a little close for that now.

Been a while since I've played Minecraft on a server, I'm interested. Same username if you want to whitelist me, anti.

For example, a medieval fort with smooth stone walls, a village or small town, an underground complex, mountain base, etc.

Definitely want a planned community base first, in pretty much all cases, no issue there.

That being said, one of Minecraft's key components is building, and there's only so much you can build if you confine everyone to one area. After the community base is finished (or at least mostly), I don't see why players can't build elsewhere. Preferably with a rail/nether network connecting people, though.

Used to be a server called Mindcrack that had a very sizable following, in my opinion that's a great example of a server that blended community projects and personal projects very well.

Admittedly I'm slightly biased though because I have a blueprint ready to start on my desk, lol

what is a premium mc account?

anyway, im using a normal mc account with the default launcher, and everything works just fine.
my launcher version is 1.6.70. though.
the mc version I play in is 1.11.

I think the 'invalid session' error happens when you're using an outdated mc version.
Title: Re: Elements Minecraft
Post by: antiaverage on December 11, 2016, 05:28:03 pm
Is your minecraft account cracked, normal or premium?

Cracked accounts can't join, we would have to run a cracked server which violates the EULA. Leaked accounts can join, but that's a different thing entirely and somewhat sketchy.

There is no "normal" Minecraft account. There is free (meaning you have yet to pay for the account) and premium. A premium account just means you bought the game and can therefore play online. A "free" account, meaning you just haven't bought the game yet, prevents you from joining online servers.

Is your launcher cracked, normal but out-of-date or normal and up-to-date?

Out of date launchers can technically work, but if you are getting the error that you see, it means it is too far out of date. I know you said you already downloaded the latest launcher, but your screenshot says otherwise. You are running 1.3.6 released on December 5, 2013; the latest version is 1.6.70 released on November 17, 2016. Your launcher is nearly 3 years out of date.

I just quickly grabbed the screenshot from Google, so the launcher version is not representative (Only the error message is relevant). My previous launcher was 'Titan Minecraft Launcher 3.6.1', while the new launcher that I downloaded yesterday is 'Minecraft Launcher 1.6.70'.

The error message comes up with both launchers.

The error message comes up with both launchers.
Have you purchased the game? Launcher is irrelevant if you dont own the game.

No, I got it on a pendrive from a friend. It worked so far, that's why I didn't buy the game (having 2 copies for money felt redundant + budget issues).

Having the game on a pendrive isn't what counts; you pay to upgrade your account to Premium, which grants you full access to the game.

Are you sure the issue would be solved with a Premium account? Because right now I kinda fear that the issue would linger even with Premium.
If you know for sure though, I'll stop looking up other solutions.

Someone was talking about doing custom achievements and awards for them. We can use this plugin to do that: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/advanced-achievements.6239/

Find other plugins to suggest here: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/categories/bukkit.4/?order=rating_weighted

We are using Spigot 1.11 currently.

While I think we should stick as close to Vanilla as is reasonable, it makes sense to have Quality of Life and non-game-breaking plugins added.

Also, I can't think of any reason why we would have to reset. We can always move spawn if we want. If people are okay with it, I'd like to say that we never reset the world.

There are no hard and fast rules other than:
Don't be a jerk.

That means don't take things without asking, respect signs claiming an area or a chest, replant crops you take, fix any damage you cause or is caused by mobs, etc.

Ideally it would be nice for everyone to contribute to the spawn build and build a rail out to their base from there, but it's unrealistic to try to force that on everyone.

Added you :)

So there I was in the nether, at level 28 and trying to get higher so I can enchant things, but my pick had just broken, so I start heading back to make a new one. Then I see this in the chat:

As I approach the portal, I see a dozen pigmen crowding around where Valerian's corpse would be. I rush to the portal as the mob chases after me. I try to fend them off with my fist, and I escape from hell an instant before I would have died.

I emerge in the center of town, where a couple people are milling around. I have no armor, half a hunger bar, and a few hearts.

Then pigmen start pouring out of the portal.

I run.

The pigmen continue to chase me around spawn as I frantically try to heal myself and prepare a defense, desperate to not lose those hard-earned levels.

It wouldn't take long for Nash's full inventory to despawn. I know that we have to take out the portal if this is going to end, so I run to the chest where I left my diamond pick, and take a hit as I move it to my hotbar. I know I can't do this alone, so I ask anti to cover me while I go for the portal. He jumps down from the roof to assist, and I manage to mine an obsidian block just before the pigmen reached me.

How does this railway station work exactly? Is it just a fancy station with no extra function or is there redstone involved?

Title: Re: Elements Minecraft

Redstone. Right click the arrow in the item frame and it rotates an 8th turn clockwise. This changes the redstone current and alters the track. Anti built it and it's pretty awesome. He can provide more details if you want it.

Also, to provide context to Solaris' post, my house is almost exactly 1k blocks away. Riding the rail there gives an achievement about 6 blocks from the end.

How does this railway station work exactly?

A rail at a junction (a standard rail surrounded on 3 sides by other rails) will change between two possible orientations depending on whether it is getting a strong redstone signal or not. When your minecart crosses a curved track, if it hits the straight side it will take the turn, if it hits the curved side it will continue over it. This lets you use redstone to direct a minecart. Caveat: when building a junction, it will use the direction it is built regardless of power state, so you need to power cycle the junction to see its default state. Also, whether the default is to take the turn or continue straight depends on the cardinal directions the rails are facing.

I built the junctions and noted that the unpowered state of the junction would allow the minecart to continue to the next junction. The powered state of the junction would cause the minecart to take the turn, thus sending you off on a particular railway.

Each junction has a torch under it, providing strong power or no power depending on the state. So sending a signal to the torch will invert the state. Since each junction starts off powered, the minecart will take the turn, heading off on Track One in the default state. If we inverted the torch under Track One, then the minecart would bypass that junction and head off on Track Two, etc.

To select the track, I am using an item frame. An item frame contains an item, and the item can be reoriented by right-clicking. This was original just for decorative purposes and rotated in 90 degree intervals, but in 1.8 they were updated to rotate in 45 degree intervals, and the position could be read by a comparator from the opposite side of the block.

When you place in item in the item frame, that is its default state. It will give off a signal strength of 1, meaning only the first redstone dust in a line of redstone dust coming off of the output of the comparator will receive power. In the 2nd position, it will give off a signal strength of 2, etc. There are eight total positions.

I used an arrow in the item frame since it points in an obvious direction so that we could add signs around the item frame describing which track that position would cause you to take. Caveat: different resource packs show a different default position. So on the default texture, the default state for the arrow in the item frame is pointing up-right. In UTAlan's old resource pack it was something else. Neither of us knew this issue and we ran headlong into it. Later UTAlan picked a different resource pack that uses the same default direction. So pro tip, if someone using the track complains that it's mis-calibrated, suggest they change their resource pack.

So now you run in to a problem. You can send a signal up to 8 redstone dust down the line, but since a junction must be two blocks from another junction, you are wasting half the signal. Only every other direction on the item frame will create a signal that reaches the next junction.

The solution is that since the junctions are every 2 blocks, we want to add 2 to the signal power for every position on the item frame. That means we need to multiply by two. But how do you multiply with Minecraft redstone? There is no block to multiply, add, or divide a signal power. However, the comparator has a second state. If you right-click it, the front torch will turn on and it will be in subtraction mode. In subtraction mode, the highest side input signal power will be subtracted from the rear input signal power.

So now we need to multiply by 2 with subtraction. A general solution to this that includes division (fancy subtraction) would be:
f(x) = x - (x/2 - x) - (x/2 - x)

But we cant divide in Minecraft. However, we know a couple of things that can be useful. We can't ever have negative signal power, so the minimum value we can work with is 0, and the maximum value for a redstone signal is 15, a game rule. Also, we can only work with whole numbers. So:
f(x) = 15 - (7 - x) - (8 - x)

Another way to reason this out:

We have a maximum value of 15.
If we subtract it from itself, we get our minimum value of 0.
15 - 15 = 0
If we divide that subtraction across two steps, we still get our minimum value of 0, but have introduced a multiple of 2
15 - 7.5 - 7.5 = 0
Whole numbers only
15 - 8 - 7 = 0
Now we can reflect that division as multiplication by 2 of a given value
15 - (8 - a) - (7 - a) = 2a

Now that's something we can do with redstone. For any input signal x, we can get 2*x using the above formula. Now we just have to make that into something physical. Comparators can do subtraction, as we mentioned, when you right-click on them to turn on their front torch. Now we need a signal power of 15 which is the same as given by a torch, lever, button, redstone block, etc. We also need signal power of 7 and 8, which we could technically do with more item frames and comparators. But comparators can also read signal strength from other objects which can vary the signal. Anything that can contain items will give off a varying signal based on how full it is. Anything you choose is fine, but I like to use droppers. A dropper with 4 non-stackable items and a single stack of 32 items will give off a signal power of 8, and if the single stack were only 24 it would give off a signal power of 7, exactly what we need. I use 4 wooden shovels and stacks of sticks.

Side note: 15 - (8 - a) - (7 - a) = 15 - (7 - a) - (8 - a) (http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=15+-+(8+-+a)+-+(7+-+a)+%3D+15+-+(7+-+a)+-+(8+-+a)), so it doesn't matter which dropper has the stack of 24 and which has the stack of 32.

So now all that's left is to rearrange slightly and bury it all underground. Let me know if you have any questions.

I use LiteLoader to make it easy to swap in client-side mods. Once you set up the LiteLoader profile (simple download and installer), you can just drop client-side mods into your mods folder. I use LiteLoader over other choices because it is light, simple, and powerful just like it says on the tin. It doesn't have the bloat of other options. Check it out here:
http://www.liteloader.com/

Knowing if there is enough light to prevent spawns can be tedious. I use the following client-side mod to toggle on a view that helps me keep our spawn area hostile mob free:
http://www.liteloader.com/mod/spawndetector

Currently we allow minimap mods, and my weapon of choice is voxelmap:
http://www.liteloader.com/mod/voxelmap

LiteLoader supports Optifine, a great way to keep your game running smoothly and adding a zoom feature. Simply download the .jar file and drop it in your mods folder:
http://optifine.net/downloads

Browse other compatible mods here:
http://www.liteloader.com/mods#version=1.11

If you need any help with this, let me know. Feel free to share your client-side mods with the rest of us :)

Two important mods were added:
The LockedChest mod is using the default recipe of 3 iron ingots, 5 gold ingots, and one chest:

I'm happy to discuss other recipes. We are trying to keep a Vanilla feel to the game, so it only seems right that a locked chest should be more valuable, akin to an Ender Chest. Currently I have set the limit to 2 locked chests per person. I'm happy to discuss altering this limit.

  • Empty cart detection and return
  • Hands-free cart return system
It autostarts the new minecart on spawning, so the player barely has any time to hop it in. I barely summoned a new cart and it was already on its way to UTAlan's house. ^^"

We have a nether hub of sorts, but it's still in its infancy. We mostly go to the nether just to raid the nearby fortress and collect wither skulls. But we do plan to build a hub there with a rail system, etc.

Looking forward to you joining us :)

You have all the time in the world. You stand on the pressure plate. It doesn't leave until you get off the pressure plate. Just stand there as long as you want. Then just right-click the minecart from where you're standing.

On one end, we shouldn't (and wouldn't?) steal anyway,
on another, it suggests that 'it was fine to take since it wasn't locked'.

how do locked chests interact with hoppers/hopper carts/ droppers?

I had set aside specific numbers of items in my chests at spawn that were clearly marked "do not take." People were taking. Instead of getting upset or removing people from the whitelist who are being dishonest about something that is really not that big a deal (but is frustrating when I have to keep restocking something I had already stocked), I added the ability to have 2 locked chests (so a single double chest). So there won't be a huge proliferation of these chests, but when you're working on a project somewhere, you don't have to worry about the stuff you gathered for the project walking away.

I also noticed Solaris hiding a chest under the dirt. It seemed rather silly, now he won't have to do that.

I'm happy to see how this evolves and remove the locked chests if they seem to be causing an issue.

You cannot explode a locked chest (it's blast resistant). You cannot use a hopper on a locked chest (in or out).

I do not think this says it's okay to take from unlocked chests. On the contrary. I still have the ability to see who interacted with a chest and we can discuss if someone is stealing and needs to be removed. However, generally speaking, taking items isn't always done with malice and is more a nuisance than a real problem. Obviously there are specific instances where it's more severe, but usually it's innocent. So it's easier to just have a locked chest to remove the minor incidents, and we can deal with the major incidents if they happen.

No one is required to make a locked chest. We can make the recipe more expensive. People can add others to their locked chest if they are collaborating.

The area was secure.

It was the best 5 minutes of Minecraft I had ever played.

lesson learned one does not mess with the pigs so when i enter into the nether in the future are the pigs now peaceful again?

They're safe again.

a Community Jukebox too, with 1 added music disc.

Awesome, will need to build a mob grinder to get the rests of the discs quickly. A new task, yay!

It's on the billboard already, but where can I find a Nether Wart farm? I'll need some Fire Resistance potions soon.

It's in the old base, if you follow the white carpet road. We can move it to spawn, though. I need to clear out the southern part of spawn for a farm.

And I'll leave you with this shot of CleanOnion working on his mountain home:

please take into consideration spawnrates in the nether fortress.

Lighting the place up makes it worse.
Putting blocks at feet-height makes it worse.
Preventing wither skellies from spawning makes it worse.

Eventually it'll be converted to a proper farm, but until then, best to improve spawnrates as much as possible.

If you want a 'safe room', dig it outside the fortress, and make it spawnproof with slabs.

also, my 2nd beacon can go to the community.

Should we allow people to put up special signs that then show up on the online map? Could be useful for marking territory or publicly useful stuff like a slime chunk, etc.

Using a sign: Players can now create markers on the map using specially labelled signs. To use these, the first line of the sign MUST be [dynmap]. After that, any non-blank line will be included in the label of the marker, except for lines formatted as set:<markerset-id> (which allows the marker to be added to a specific marker set) or icon:<icon-id> (which allows the marker to be set to use a specific icon - if not specified, the icon sign is used). If the marker is successfully created, the sign's text will erase the [dynmap], set: and icon: lines. If the sign is later deleted, the corresponding map marker is deleted.

Icons that you can use are listed here:
https://github.com/webbukkit/dynmap/wiki/Using-markers#marker-icons

Urgent: There's something I wish to ask everyone in the minecraft server:

Should we abandon using oak trees, or stick with both oak and birch?

There are pros and cons to each. If we decide to use only birch trees, I will burn my oak saplings for fuel purposes.

Oak trees are not the most reliable trees around. Some oaks only have 4 wood, while others have wood that is unreachable due to the branches.

Birches are central, having 5-7 wood in every tree. All of the wood is reachable.

Down the line I would like to make a dedicated tree farm with all six types so they're all in one place, but as far as using wood as a resource I don't have any issue sticking with birch for now (although I do have a stock of oak and would like to keep farming that, but I can do that outside of spawn)

Use whatever you want. If you need a lot of wood, fast, then birch is the best because it only grows straight (no branching) and never taller than you can cut from the ground. It also produces saplings at a high rate.

But for aesthetics, if you need a certain type of wood, there's no reason for you not to grow and use it.

The problem with scattered temples in various dimensions is people will rarely see them or visit them. Especially with twelve of them. By having them around spawn, they're more likely to be seen. Another option is we could call these the Altars of Element and people can build scattered temples of they want.

If we go with altars, the 1x1 chunk size is fine. I also added an image of where I would put 3x3 chunk size spaces if we want to do temples around the spawn, or if we don't think temples can fit in a 1x1 space. Keep in mind that the marked space is just a maximum, builders can do whatever they want within the marked space. They don't have to cover every block, and they can change anything they want within that space.

I also thought they would be a bit further away, like 100-200 blocks or so.
I also thought they'd be bigger.

People dont need to see them all the time, occasionally stumbling upon them is fine.

Perhaps we can have altars in the appointed locations, and the temples further away?

Should I move everything that we had in our old base (besides the mine) to our new spawn? I may leave a couple things, such as a few chests, the furnaces and crafting tables, a few beds, and maybe turn what used to be the nether wart farm into an xp farmer.

I can do renovation for you guys if you want it.

...an iron farm that actually works

LOOK AT THE CUTE LIL VILLAGERS

Anyway.

I spent a while coaxing one of my captive Cartographers into giving me information. Despite the fact that the only information he could possibly have learned since his birth in my farm would be hand-me-down stories from the first two villagers I kidnapped and forced into slavery (both of whom are on the other side of the farm in a different cage and do not know that the Cartographer exists).

So here's a Woodland Explorer map.

I left a copy on the billboard at spawn. If anyone knows what to do with it, go ahead.

I used my 5 eyes of ender to try and pinpoint the location of the End Stronghold. It seems that the coordinates lean towards -1400x -550z, give or take. As someone said, it is in an ocean, unfortunately. I will explore more, but I didn't have on WB potions.

I can post screenies if need be.

Edit: I have located the stronghold. There is a place around -1381x -543z with a ladder, leading to the stronghold down at 15y.

I was unable to complete the journey back from the woodland mansion. I wasn't too keen on spending another two hours traversing the seventeen thousand blocks it took to get there, so I opted for the nether. The nether, of course, is a dangerous place. It was fall damage that took me in the end, as I ran too eagerly through a cave I had found after scrabbling through netherrack fruitlessly with my bare hands for too long, a mere 500 blocks from the exit portal. The fall also claimed Fury of the Dragon. Sorry, dragtom, but I feel a lot worse about that than you do.

Rule of thumb for long distance nether treks: don't.

  • mesa biomes

Not because they are difficult, but because they are rare and others want to go there too while it is still dangerous and active.

I agree. I think we should find the end and kill the dragon first. I don't think finding The End has to be a group activity, but as soon as it's found we should schedule a group dragon hunt.

I'm game for a dragon hunt at some point I have only ever actually killed one in 3-4 years

How laggy is it?
Been thinking about jumping on this for a while, actually

It depends on where you are. It's not laggy at all for me. But the sever is in Chicago, Illinois, USA. I am in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. It would be interesting to hear from people who are farther away. Australia is probably going to have a bad time. I'm not sure about Europe.

I'm in the uk on a public uni network i have the occasional minor issue but nothing making it unusable.

Just went on today and found that the lag decreases as i move away from spawn (probably something to do with all the entities there)

I would like to apologize for dying in lava with the near-broken fortune 3 pick. I'm working on getting levels to spam diamond pickaxes for a new fortune 3; sorry in advance.
Fun fact: before we moved the Enchantment Room to the vault, Linkcat kept a sign next to that pick, saying: "Spawn use only". Linkcat foresaw that someone will drop it into lava once it leaves the boundaries of spawn. :silly:

I made another and put it at spawn.

Yeah, there are way too many sheep, cows, and chickens at spawn right now... Maybe we should move the farm out of spawn? Ugh, but that's so much to move...

I've made a staircase to the main island in The End. I didn't lose much, as I only brought with me about 5 Cracked Stone Bricks and a stone pickaxe.

When we get to the actual fight, I'm definitely putting this on:

Also, when I opened up minecraft today, my inventory was gone for whatever reason. I remember having these items:

A power III bow
An iron sword
An iron pickaxe
A stone axe
All Iron armor except for chestplate
A shield with my banner on it
Some arrows
A Protection IV Unbreaking III book
A few other things I can't remember.

I don't know whether I was killed when I was afk, but something happened...

All of that is very easy to replace, even the book and bow have equivalents in the vault. That said, I can hop on to see what happened in your death history. Where were you AFKing?

No one else is reporting having this issue. It sounds like this is an issue with your home network which has possible solutions posted in that thread.

Best I'm seeing is that it's most likely packet fragmentation and you need to go into your router's firewall settings and disable the blocking of ip fragments.

A lot. I usually bring 64 and fill 'em all up. It's simply 'cause Dragon is rather tough and you don't wanna fight him another time if you find yourself in need of Dragon's Brath.

Before I was off to search for some gravel to turn into arrows, I found a patch of gravel where my house connects to spawn. Turns out some of the gravel was holding up some of the redstonery for the potato farm. I was able to fix it somewhat, but there's one problem: you'll need to press the button twice instead of once before replanting.

I may or may not be able to send a screenie, but there's a hole with a torch where the patch of gravel used to be.

I'd suggest using a distinct block for redstone, be it stone brick, wool, or any other block people'd recognize.

Do NOT strip mine the Mesa. All mining in the Mesa should be invisible from above ground. Basically, you can hollow out hills, but leave the outer layer.

This rule does not apply to builds in the Mesa, only to mining for hardened clay, etc.

I've added this to the server rules in the name of preservation of nature :P

Harder to do since the material people want from there is the spikes themselves, whereas the Mesa has tons of clay beneath the hills. Maybe when we find a second Ice Spikes we can declare it a national park with no harvesting from it? And then subsequent ones after the 2nd can still be harvested?

Side note: I missed the 1,000 hour milestone, but collectively we have put in about 1,089.83 hours of playtime now :D

Post by: ValerianFlame on January 08, 2017, 01:24:24 pm
I decided I would share some images of my parkour courses. They're grouped in 13 elements, the 12 standard and Other. I will share two pictures from the stage, and then another picture, more about it in the 2nd-to-last paragraph in the "A few notes" section.

A few notes:

I based this off of stages I've seen and played in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, which is the reason the stages are so long.

I have made a feature to where you can collect levers to affect your "score," which work like rings in StH. I have not done this for all the stages, only Entropia so far. I've also done it for Bones of el Past, but I haven't counted the exact amount.

Something else I've added to not all the courses, yet it's further in production, is the separation of acts in all stages except the stage representing Other.

I am still thinking of a firm name for a part in the course where you go faster than you normally do in the course. Right now, I'm going with "Comet Elemental" sections. Feel free to add to that.

In each stage (except for the one representing Other), I've placed an End Rod for the player to find while doing the parkour courses. These act as collectibles, and they are worth a decent amount of points in the actual courses. I will share a photo that has the End Rod in it. For the Other course, I will show 3 regular pictures, and a picture of the Entrance to the Other course.

More notes to add soon.

Bones of El Past: 1. Speed: V
Orbit's Lease: 1. Speed: VII
Redstone Shaft: 1. Speed: XI
Nethereous Chasm: 1. Speed: VII
Island Chain Vessels: 1. Speed: VII
Approximate Time: 4:45
Levers to Collect: 319

Entropia is the easiest course of the bunch, but it is still a minor challenge. The beginning of the stage is mostly stained glass, and it serves as a tutorial level, turning into a nice actual level. There are a few caves to show it is a good duo with Darkness (lycanthropes) and other signs of duality.

http://imgur.com/gallery/vLWmc

This is a picture of a part near the beginning of the stage, a little short of 1 minute through, maybe 1 minute even. It shows a little layout. Also, you may notice the ice, meaning Frost Walker. This will be needed in later stages, so don't be alarmed.
http://imgur.com/gallery/7FcwF

This is near the end of the stage, where the player is supposed to walk on barriers to get to the last platform.
http://imgur.com/GL9qNmv

Don't worry Iancu, I made something in this course hard, and that's getting the End Rod. You'll need the timing of a marksman and the aim of someone who earned Sniper Duel with 3 arrows to land on the slabs, then curve around and obtain it.
Appoximate Time: 5:40
Levers to Collet: NA

This level is slightly harder than the Entropy level, but they still have many similar characteristics. You'll find yourself in a lot of caves, near a lot of bones, and running on them. At one point, you are riding on a spine with 3 segments, and late in the course, your speed accelerates from Speed Boost II to Speed Boost V.

Here's the player, 2 minutes in, riding towards the skull of a skeleton. Just before this part of the stage, you could take two pathways.
One pathway is a standard pathway, taking you through jumps on bone pillars, while the other houses the End Rod. Details in the End Rod section.

This is after the spike in speed. The player is going around a loop via ladders on the sides at a good speed. Also, this is about 4 1/2 minutes in, maybe more.

Only 1:30 or so in, you can take the second route mentioned above. It is a mini-jumping section that requires precise jumping and aim. You are then rewarded with a minor shortcut, which may help you beat the target time and net you an S rank.
Approximate Time: 6:15 to 7:00
Levers to Collect: NA

Now the courses are getting a good amount of length. Gravity can be either fast or slow, and that's why I placed a few shortcuts that will have a HUGE impact on your time, some possibly clearing 20-30 seconds. This is also the first course that gets "creative" with things.

This is only about 2 minutes in, maybe a little longer. This picture shows one of the shortcuts with a big impact on the course, being that the picture shows the normal path, but the command block with the pressure plate will give you a huge jump boost, taking you a long way in.

Near the end of the course, your speed skyrockets from IV to VII, allowing a very fast (and exciting) part of the course. Here, you can get an overview of much of said course, along with the sunset (/time set with /gamerule doDaylightCycle false) in view. It makes for quite the culmination of the course, where you finally jump extremely high into a sphere with a visible axis; lava and water covering said sphere and barriers to protect it from falling off while keeping the same look.

Just about smack dab in the middle of the course, you can take an alternate route on a small hill. It's very hard to notice, since there's no indicator you can go there, except for a hole in the mountain (where it shouldn't be). Follow the route for a little while, and you'll be taken to a small cavern where the End Rod is.
Approximate Time: 7:30
Levers to Collect: NA

This course is one of the fastest courses I've made. For one, this course is the first course that starts out with a higher speed level than II (For this course, III). Also, this course has the second fastest Comet Elemental section, at speed XI.

Only a little more than 1 minute in, and we're going down a pit that is well decorated with ores on the sides and bedrock at the bottom. Plus, if you realize this was made of stone, it's because fire + water = earth. There is a similar reference later on in the course, but that would seem repetitive to see a picture of that.

Need proof this goes up to Speed XI, there you go. This section gets really fast and even laggy due to the redstone ore being lit up. At the end of this course, it stops holding your hand and gives you a glimpse of what to come.

Not even 1 minute in, the course tests your reaction time. When you see that end rod, you better click D or else, there goes your shortcut and collectible. Yeah, it's not fun.
Approximate Time: 7:30
Levers to Collect: NA

This is one heck of a course... it goes up, down, and all around. However, it is possible what to tell that it juggles its course in: Water, Trees, and Hills. It even throws a loop-de-loop and a quick-time event in there. Heck, this course goes in quite a few caves as well, even having the ending be right next to a waterfall.
Approximate Time: 8:15 to 8:30
Levers to Collect: NA

This is where the courses stop messing around. You start off at a downhill climb from a volcanic mountain. After that, you're taken to the nether (surprise surprise!) with lava and fire abundant like always. You'll get another glimpse of the overworld, but then a straight track full of lava, fire, and a TON of parkour is hurled your way, followed by a crater where the floor is literally lava. Last but not least, in that crater, you'll begin a Comet Elemental section at speed VII, where you'll exit the crater, go through a nether cavern, and "blaze" through a fortress to the goal.

Approximate Time: 8:30
Levers to Collect: NA

This level is like shard of patience on a creature, it starts at a basic Speed II, doing jumps every now and then, but 30 seconds in, it already starts playing around with Frost Walker II. You then are put in your first tree-island where your speed accelerates to IV. You'll have a roofed forest thrown at you, after a linear section where there are thin jumps. Then, it's treetop running you'll be doing for a good long time. About 6 minutes in, you'll be on an island, using frost walker again to go to an extreme hills with the water insignia around the end. Lastly, you'll begin a Comet Elemental section at Speed VII, doing complicated jumps, riding a waterfall, using Frost Walker, and finally doing quick movements to the goal.

Approximate Time: 8:00
Levers to Collect: NA

It would probably take me two runs to allow me to describe this in detail... This, along with the Other course, is the only course to use the Overworld, Nether, and End in the same course. You start with Speed V, and it will never change. You'll be on an icy river in the overworld for about 1:30, then you'll enter the Nether for a good amount of jumps. Around the middle of the course, you'll levitate near 256y, where you'll be on a rail and jump down to a beacon stairway. Later, you'll jump up, again, to a pattern that resembles... birds... and then another pattern that kind of resembles a mirror. Then, you'll jump down into the End, where you'll be under it for the majority of the time. You'll be running from End Tower to End Tower, jumping up to a final section. This section has many complicated jumps, a swirly pathway, a wall jump section, End Crystals, barriers galore, and too much to even describe. You'll end where 3 End Crystals are located on their altars, surrounding a beacon.

Approximate Time: 8:00 to 8:30
Levers to Collect: NA

Remember Gravity? This is (kinda) a throwback to that, with shortcuts, jumps, and the like. Heck, it even brings a lot of Levitation to the table. You'll start on an iron road off of a coast. Then, you enter a mini castle that you'll only be in or on top for a few seconds. Then, a bridge... I mean a broken bridge! After that, a loop and some running on trees, followed by a short run in a roofed forest and then... more treetop running, in fact a lot of it. You'll enter another mini castle with lava at the bottom (Yay for fire synergy!) and finally exit the forest... into a tornado. You'll get flinged off into a small run/jump section and swim into another castle; bigger than the last 2. Here, you have quite a few obstacles to avoid, but you should be out in only 20 or so seconds. More islands, more stone, and then mountains. You'll be on quite a few waves made of stone. Finally, the Comet Elemental section... Speed VIII.  It takes place in a HUGE castle and the cave under it, filled to the brim with jumps and what not. The goal... is at 247y.
Approximate Time: 8:15 to 8:30
Levers to Collect: NA

I was thinking of a gimmick for this level and thought... "Reverse time... I could make someone revisit earlier parts of the course so they could move on!" Anyways...

This level does NOT pull any punches, it's one of the fastest courses that I've made, not because of its speed level (IV), and it doesn't even have a Comet Elemental section, but because the course is practically nothing but running and jumping. You'll start on a rail going from desert island to desert island. Then, you'll be on more rails, making a good deal of jumps, and finally go to a bridge. With Jump Boost IV, you must avoid pressure plates so you can take a shortcut. Then, you'll start running through a village, even doing a little roof-running to another part of the desert. There, you'll follow a cactus path to more rails, more jumps, and an earlier part of the course. Avoid the pressure plate to lead yourself into a cave. When you exit, you'll be in a river separating the plains from the desert. Do a few more jumps and go into another cave where you'll levitate above lava, revisit those few jumps, and go to the last part of the course. Your goal will be a small hole in the desert between two hills.
Approximate Time: 8:15 to 8:45
Levers to Collect: NA

Just a fair warning: you'll spend most of the level below 30y. The majority of the level will be in some form of cave or mineshaft. The level starts off with you falling into a mineshaft, going through it for about 30 seconds into a cave. The cave, where a bunch is covered by lava, has a shortcut that will cut off at least 30 seconds. After you exit the cave, there will be more mineshaft and what not. You'll then start levitating over some more lava, doing jumps and going through even more mineshaft... There'll be yet another cave, this time with more lava to avoid, and then a ravine, where after you go through the ravine, you'll eventually pop out to the nightfall, doing a little bit of parkour until you're running on a dragon! After you get off that dragon, guess what? More mineshaft. After that section, you're treated to an upward climb in a ravine, followed by a minor obstacle course. Lastly, you'll get up one more time to do some running and jumping. Then, you'll be treated to a darkness insignia at the top, where you will fall and do a command block section, ride on the dragon, and do some tree-jumping to the goal, being the Void.
Approximate Time: 9:30 to 10:00
Levers to Collect: NA

This. Level. Whoo boy... All I can do is divide this level into 4 parts: Overworld, Stronghold, End, and End City. Also, this is the only stage (Including the Other stage) to have 2 Comet Elemental Sections, both at speed IX! You start in a cave that's riddled with Dragon Heads (foreshadowing!) and lava, where you'll exit via levitation. Then, you'll enter more caves while riding on diamond and cyan paths. Later, the first Comet Elemental section starts, where you'll be running outside a mountain, doing quite a few jumps, levitating a little, and even doing a double loop! Then, the Stronghold section starts. The stronghold section is nothing short of a maze, filled with ladders, turns, and lava. There, you'll get Jump Boost III and backtrack to a weird tetris-block-thingy-made-of-end-stone, jumping over the iron bar and entering the End. You'll do more levitating and eventually go to a rail section (where the most complex End Rod is located) and start the 2nd Comet Elemental section. You'll be treated to a quick-time event and the End City part of the stage, where you'll catapult at Speed 256 twice. The last minute is running around on a huge end tower. You'll do some final levitations, even levitating to the highest point in the end tower, around 160y. The goal is right next to the End Exit, as a cyan beacon with diamond blocks circling the base.
Approximate Time:
Levers to Collect: NA

I will edit this as needed, and I will post this early in case my computer bricks and my progress is lost.

Another thing: I will do the pictures LAST, not including levers to collect and acts.

I did some forging and enchanting on the Vault Fishing Rods, but I plan to keep doing it later to keep the Rod chest clean.

The current setup is:

Top Left: Super Rods, all with Lure III, LotS III, Unbr III and Mending (sometimes CoV too);
Top Right: normal rods, with neither Lure nor LotS enchantments;
Bottom Left: Rods with Luck of the Sea, but with no Lure enchantments;
Bottom Middle: Rods with both LotS and Lure, but at least one of them doesn't reach tier III;
Bottom Right: Rods with Lure, but with no LotS enchantments.

I'd like to ask everyone to keep this setup going until I can forge the rest together, or to even take one of the Super Rods if you don't have one for personal use (Just keep 1 or 2 in the Vault).

Lots of unused desert around spawn that would be good for it. I was planning on building one down the line.

You'll want underwater gear (Depth Strider III boots; Aqua Affinity I, Respiration III Helmet), a stack or so of doors (you won't be able to mine due to Mining Fatigue from the Elder Guardians, so doors are a great way to crate safe barriers from the Guardian attacks that you can still pass through), Underwater Breathing potions (we have tons of Pufferfish for those), and good armor & weapon (sword/axe)

Is it the large square frame built around 75x/290z? Because I'd like to voice my objections before more progress is made, on the grounds that it's too close to my base for how massive it is, and I would offer whatever help I can to locate and build at a different site.

If it's something else, same thing to the builder of that.

I'm perfectly fine with moving it to a different area, the thing is, we'd need a silk touch pick for an efficient deconstruction.

Alternatively, the desert southeast of my lake - it'd be reasonably close to Sub's secondary community hub and it wouldn't be too close to anything else, except my lake base, in which case it'd blend it with a desert hill from my lake's perspective.

Or to the west or southwest of spawn - west would require tearing down/repurposing a village though. There's also plenty of land northeast of Onion's and some other assorted patches (some non-desert) if you don't mind going further out from spawn

I'll no longer be playing on the server as keeping items on death has taken away all the challenge of the game.

You keep items, not XP. It was done because of server lag killing people over void in The End which is far more unfair. The setting can be applied individually, and I am happy to turn it off for you. Unfair lag death is not increasing the difficulty, it's a bug.

It was requested to set up a group Wither fight time, please click+drag over the times that work for you:
http://whenisgood.net/4dfq7fk

This is for fighting one or more Withers in the open somewhere in the overworld.

Remember, keep items is now off in the overworld, so prepare accordingly. Keep items (and not keep xp) is only on in The End solely to help with server lag halting Elytra momentum over the void preventing recovery of items. You will always lose xp due to a death, and a death counter is now the score in the scoreboard.

I did some research and testing on Cartographers lately, and figured out some stuff:

- Each cartographer sells one ocean map and one woodland map.

- Once a cartographer's trades are generated, their maps won't change; each individual cartographer sells the same two maps over and over.

- A cartographer's map will always point to the nearest, unmapped structure.

I couldn't finish testing my theory though. I went on a journey to discover the 2nd Mansion and planned to collect every loot in a separate chest, so that I can bring it back to spawn and distribute it to all the players. The exploring is finished, but my inventory space is limited. It's going to be your (everyone's) choice what items should be brought back.

The available items are:

The axes are Efficiency I-II. These items take up 50 item slots. I have a combined available inventory space of 34 item slots. That means we have to get rid of 16 of these.

First off, I suggest removing the 6 music discs, then all the kinds of seeds, the one wheat, the lilypads, and rotten flesh.

So that's 12 down I believe. We can get rid of the coal, as it's only 6, and the 8 fences.

14 down. I'll leave the rest up to everyone else.

Always bring Shulker boxes.

Also, leave the stuff you can't bring in chests out front of the mansion. Then we can fly out and pick them up.

We don't need the wooden items (5 slots), the seeds (3 slots), the zombie flesh (1 slot), the records (6 slots), the wheat (1 slot) [16 slots, you're done]

nor the cauldron, the carpets, the coal, the iron, the pots, the bread, the lily pads, the melon, the wood...

So should be an easy trip back.

I brought a portable Ender chest which had 2 shulker boxes inside. xD Thanks for the advice though! I'm on my way back.

On my way back though, I found a librarian who offers Infinity books for 6 emeralds and 1 empty book each. I can afford 3 with my current resources. Should I exchange all emeralds for Infinity books? It's really tempting. x)

Alright, the good stuff was packed in a chest at Spawn. The books are Infinity, Infinity and Frost Walker I, the axe is Efficiency I. The minor stuff was spreaded in the Spawn vault and the new Achievement City vault combined. I only took the chests, the cauldron and another Efficiency I axe, didn't take any of the mansion-exclusive stuff.

Also, can anyone give me 14 end rods and two blocks of gold? I'll try to repay later. Just bring them to my house over +800 64 +1600 or something. (I'll remove the dirt pillar when I get back. And please don't take Meme, I don't have any saddles to tame any other horse with)

Another thing: Is it me, or are the blocks kinda glitchy? One moment they have a texture of, say, gold ore or netherbrick, then turn themselves into stone or netherrack.

House is looking neat!

I'll try to deliver some of the stuff you asked for, including saddles.

And yeah, that glitch is common for all of us. You might also experience the 'block reset' glitch sometimes, when you either need to mine a block twice to actually mine it or you have to place a block twice to actually place it.

Thank you for the compliment and for helping out. It's really sweet of you and I very appreciate it c:

I will definitely make more stuff. Like somewhat survival-freindly statues or buildings. Not too simple, but very pretty and rather affordable. Next idea was to make a community nether portal, that would hang on a neck of an endrr dragon statue.

I decided to hand out a free Woodland Mansion map for everyone, just to encourage some exploring. :D

A fresh map for an unexplored Mansion can be picked up from Spawn. To find new maps however, the current mansion has to be mapped, so I can only create a new map for one person at a time. Using Elytra is highly recommended.

We can schedule a team flight sometimes, with sufficient support to help recovery after accidental deaths.

How does that sound?

Day 2:
I'll complete it next week, since I won't be able to actually play minecraft on the weekend. (Unless some happens)

I forgot that my door required sticky pistons to work properly. Can someone hand me just two slimeballs? I'll repay

Another thing: I'll probably have a lot of dark oak wood left from the house. Does anyone nedd 20+ stacks of oak wood? I mean, I can very well spend it on something like a lighthouse near my house or on a baking shop somewhere on the spawn, but I felt like I may just give them to someone. (No one even builds lighthouses with wood)

Also, does anyone need a Lure 3, Mending, Unbreaking 3 and Luck of the Sea 3 fishing rod? It's damaged, but with mending it doesn't really matter. Just tell me the coordinates and I'll bring it to you.

I'd love the rod, if that's alright - lost all my enchanted goodies the other day. In return you can have my ~40 sticky pistons. Dump it at ~760,250 if you like, or I can come pick it up. The pistons are either at -840,-200 or in my ender chest. Either way I'll fetch them for you eventually.

I'd like to ask for help about a Smoothstone Generator.

Most of the time, Water updates faster than Lava, and Smoothstone is generated.

Occasionally though, Lava updates faster than Water and it clogs my entire system.

Where I plan to place it, it would be troublesome to fix it every time it breaks, so I'd like to know if any of you have a solution for this. It currently happened to me after 3-29 successful pushes, so it can't really be predicted when it's going to clog.

il mango's short video about stone generators (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myDz5EwyWHw).
Basically, random ticks can force lava to move.

also, you can shear snow golems to get the pumpkin back

il mango's short video about stone generators (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myDz5EwyWHw).
Basically, random ticks can force lava to move.

I saw that video when it was released, but they're ultimately problematic designs. They don't self-repair, and they break if you aren't actively removing the stone.

I built an updated version in the vault at spawn that I think works better on a multiplayer server, but it could still break if it ran autonomously and stone wasn't actively removed. So instead it only gives you more stone if you removed the existing stone which solves this problem.

That said, personally I still prefer self-repairing designs that don't require observer blocks. Essentially the piston that feeds the stone out of the machine also clears the water and lava flows so that they can reset easily and quickly in the case of lava flowing faster than water in some cases.

Here are some pictures of that design, built in a way so you can see how it works, but I have built a more compact version of the rear mechanism that is just a bit harder to see what is going on.

I use this device on skyblock becuase it's fast, easy to build, efficient, and self-repairing. Even if you just want cobblestone, smooth stone is faster to mine into cobblestone.

The lever is just to turn the machine on and off so you don't leave it running, but you could also easily use a pressure plate instead placed where you would stand while mining.

Heh, that was me. You use shears to remove the pumpkin heads.

Thanks for the design tips! I could make dragtom's solution work, but now I'm having a different problem.

Is there a compact solution to amplify an Observer signal to hold a Piston for 2 seconds long? Usually the signal coming from the Observer comes and goes in less than a second, but I need more time than that.

Thanks for the design tips! I could make dragtom's solution work

I spent a lot of time with making an observer block solution work, but there are some key issues with it that make it not as reliable and functional. Feel free to take a look at my solution to those issues in the vault at spawn.

, but now I'm having a different problem.

try just using a repeater on 2-tick delay, should be long enough to pulse a piston

you can also take a look at pulse-extender circuits (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Pulse_circuit#Pulse_extender), the more compact solutions use comparators:

While I was looking for parrots in the new update, I found 2 great horses near a forest on my way back. I kept the black one, but the white horse is up for grabs.

I tested it and it has a speed of 20 on the CO scale (21 is the currently recorded maximum), it can jump 4,5 blocks high and has 12 hearts, which is pretty darn good if I can say. Also, it's white, which is one of the best possible colors.

I fenced it in on the logo in Achievement City. Go get it before anyone else does~

Not much, actually. I think i only died three times, but in the explosions, I lost three quarters worth of inventory and a bunch of levels.

There's four giant tunnels allowing for easy access into the pyramid if one so pleases.
I really don't want to do anything inside the pyramid; would take too long to do anything and the work I'm doing finishing the pyramids is creating multiple dark patches still q.q

Unfortunately, no. I've no idea where I am on the server, I'm naked on my armor and weapons and mobs kinda seem to bite my butt a lot more often than they should.

Edit: I could rebuild the Plenty Vault on the server in the next few days, though. It'll take a ton of stuff (gold is gonna be one of the worst ones to gather), but it's fairly possible.

I'm sorry, but you are perma-banned for actively sabotaging player builds in a way that also risked killing the player.

So I went ahead and dried up an entire Ocean Monument with only 20 sponges and a furnace. I planned to do this for a long time, and now here we are.

It's not far from land, so maybe I'll connect it with a glass tunnel. But gee em gee, this was a LOT of fun! Clearing out a Monument was something I've never done alone before, not to speak about sponging it dry. I can only recommend this activity. ;)

If you have the latest launcher downloaded, you have to set back your version to old 1.11.1, because the server version is not updated yet.
To do this, I forgot what I did. >_> Can somebody explain again? ^^"

edit: OR we can just ask anti to update the server version. That works too.

  • on the launcher, click in the bottom left on 'new profile'.
  • give the new profile a name.
  • select the correct version under 'use version:'.*
*If you want to use version in alpha, beta, or newer than the latest stable release, check the corresponding box above to have it show up in the list.

Note that I haven't updated the launcher to the latest version, so it could've been changed...

In other news, Ive completed a blacksmith.
It's not as nice as I hoped.

Meanwhile, I practiced on building statues of Age of Mythology's major gods.

Greek - Hades, Poseidon (excuse the trident, small scale and all) and Zeus
(http://i.imgur.com/GF3VJao.png)

Egyptian - Set, Isis and Ra
(http://i.imgur.com/9LRz9zE.png)

Norse - Loki, Odin and Thor
(http://i.imgur.com/5goHCTD.png)

Atlantean (Atlantis has greek titans, but considering it's a fictional civilization, it's basically fine) - Gaia, Oranos and Kronos
(http://i.imgur.com/bmYmi6N.png)

Chinese - Shennong, Nu Wa and Fu Xi
(http://i.imgur.com/qu7VwSw.png)

I, uh, couldn't recall the website from which I took the screenshots, so, you might wanna look up the statues yourself. Sorry, fellas

Ooh, that can actually be cool.
Do you wish to trade then? ;> I can start making all four parts of the armor, but if you already have a piece (e.g: helmet with Blast Protection), tell me, so that I don't do unnecessary work.

The trade price is lower if you can contribute any piece of iron ingot or enchantment book in advance. :) It won't be high anyway, I just like to be efficient.

I remember having a book of Blast protection in my house. However I'm unsure whether or not I used it on an armor piece that got lost when I tried to loot Woodland Mansion (Not the brightest of my choices, tbh).

What's gonna be my offering in that trade? I mean, with enough materials I can replicate whatever I built before or even things I haven't actually tried building, like one of AoM wonders or something like that.

Edit: I have two books of blast prot 4 in my "mailbox" at 819 64 1627

Had a little spare time today so quickly whipped up a Villager Farm in the sea above my old tower. It's made of cobble and looks disgusting, so don't go near it.

There's a Librarian selling Mending books for 28 emeralds. It's the Tier 5 trade, so it may not be visible to you unless you go through the whole trading process. If that's too much effort, drop me 28 emeralds and I'll get it for you. No extra charge.

Apparently if lightning strikes a villager, it turns into a witch. >_> This was the first time I witnessed anything turn into something else by lightning.

Too bad I was in the process of creating a villager farm. x_x

This reminds me of the time me and Niels decided to get a charged creeper blow up near a mob. We didn't get one despite it being thundering like in a fight between aether and air elementals. >.<

The original emerald village burned down in an accident, so I built a "new home" for the surviving villagers nearby, in case anyone was looking for them.

I added 2 new games around Achievement City. It is your challenge to find them on the server. ;)

The first game is called Chicken Bucket.

~~Explanatory Video~~ (1:26) (https://youtu.be/xqKIzbBL3y4?t=86)

A 2-Player game. You stand in front of each other, while chickens fall from above between you. Use your snowballs to push them in the holes on the opponent's side. A regular game consists of 3 Rounds, and usually uses 6 stacks of Chicken Eggs. But of course, these can be customized.

The second is an adaptation of the board game, Chutes and Ladders.

Here is an overview of the board. (https://i.imgur.com/LNWChJv.jpg)

It can be played with 2 to 4 players.

Players start from Square 0, then they roll the dice (a nearby dispenser) to advance. If they arrive on a green square (Slime block), they can climb up a ladder. If they arrive on a red square (Redstone, Netherrack, or Nether Wart Block), they must fall down a chute. The first person to arrive on Square 100 wins. However, if you don't arrive exactly on Square 100, you bounce back, which can result in falling down a chute again.

Custom rules include taking out the bouncing at the end, or throwing with 2 dice.

A 4 Player game can take from 1 to 2 hours, unless the rules are customized.

I forgot how chill this game was. It helps if you are stressed. :)

I snatched some Netherracks and Cobblestones from abandoned chests (one was from an icy outpost). If anyone misses it, I will give it back.

(I could use more Netherrack, Netherbrick, and Cobblestone though.)

Notes: The chicken feeder and the fireworks at Spawn are broken.

I should have some amount of cobblestone at both my establishments (spawn house and lake village/castle) - feel free to raid a bit (just lmk if you take anything else so I can reobtain it when/if I play again)

So anti updated the server to 1.22.3. Water drastically changed. The basic, vanilla water.

So anti updated the server to 1.22.3. Water drastically changed. The basic, vanilla water.

  • There is now actual swimming.
  • Oxygen depletes and recovers differently.
  • It is faster to ascend in water, but slower to descend.
  • Dropped items sometimes float on water!
  • There are actual fishes and dolphins in seas and oceans.
  • The fishable fishes changed both in names and looks.
  • The color of water visibly changed in some biomes.
  • Water lets through more light, so you lose less visibility as you go down.
  • New splashing sound effects.
  • And I'm not even sure I listed all changes related to water.

1.13.2 ;)

All changes since last version on the server (1.12.2):
https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/1.13
https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/1.13.1

The performance got a lot worse.
and while they keep improving this, it occasionally becomes a lot worse again.
In general, it keeps going down.

Something might happen on the server on this Saturday at 18:00 GMT (https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20181222T18). Is it perhaps an event? People might be there too. Find out at the right time, in the right place. ;)

The event has started.

Well, it's in the 3x3 area of -282;37 in the Nether. Unknown height. Maybe I was already in the lava. It's in a risky place too.

Two months have almost passed since the first reunion, so we can reunite again around the start of March.

This time though, I haven't built anything new, so we would mostly improvise.

When you go to Multiplayer on the opening screen, you can type in the following:

Server Name: Elements Minecraft
Server Address: mc.dek.im

But to access it, antiaverage has to whitelist you first. I'll send him a message to let all of you in.

Luckily that's easy to solve. In the Minecraft launcher, before you hit PLAY, go to the upper right corner where it says Launch options. There, create a new gaming profile with 1.13.2 set as your version. The name doesn't matter, but I suggest naming it Spigot 1.13.2.

After this, go back to the News tab on the upper left corner, and this will bring you back to the opening page. On the right side of the PLAY button, press the small arrow and select the profile you created. If you log in with that, you can play on the server.

Today is the day when the Invaders waged war against Achievement City. They came out of the shadows, bringing magic and pain. A long battle has been fought. Households has been used as fortresses, horses and llamas were deployed, teleportation has been used. All emergency measures served useful, though I had to seek shelter at citizen houses that hasn't been occupied by their owners in a long time. Troops had been lost, structural damage has been made. In the end, the pillagers left, but only after they got what they wanted.

It was a crazy battle.~

Introducing a new Minecraft game. Find the Tower!

I secluded a huge, rectangular area on our Minecraft server. Within, I have hidden many fake Golden Towers. The real Golden Tower will be 1 Obsidian block with 4 Gold blocks on top (https://i.ytimg.com/vi/iB3ifaFDObc/maxresdefault.jpg). The goal of the game is to find the real Golden Tower and bring it outside the playing area.

The game requires 2-4 players other than the person who hides the real tower. The game has the following rules:

The Golden Tower is placed by the host before the game starts. The host places the tower in a spot that is not completely submerged and is not deep within caves. The tower might be in a cave entrance but will not require the players to reach junctions in a cave to find it.

(https://i.imgur.com/SEk9mWr.png) (https://i.imgur.com/LfQWjz1.png)

Keep an eye out on good hiding spots for Golden Towers, because a player might earn the right to hide the next tower for the next game! ;)
For all players, have fun and happy hunting!
