How to beat a God without ever taking a point of damage. https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=3437.msg29913#msg29913
« on: February 27, 2010, 04:13:44 am »
I was thinking with the Quest contest that a good Quest would be 'defeat a Fake God without taking a point of damage'.  I decided that it was way too challenging.

Then, I played PuppyChow's deck vs. Paradox, and did just that entirely by accident.  Sorry, I don't have screenshots, but here's what happened:

Opening Hand: Permafrost, Supernova, Supernova, Quintessence, Otyugh, Quantum Tower x2.
I know, it's a miracle, right?

Turn 1: Quantum Tower (gain +1 Entropy), Quantum Tower (+1 Water), done (gain +1 Entropy from Mark).
Paradox: Aether Tower x3, nothing.
Paradox can't play any Deja Vu on turn one because he relies on Mark quanta to cast them!

Turn 2: Supernova x2.  Done.  (Gain +2 Water from Towers).
Paradox: Casts a Hourglass.
Paradox can't play a Deja Vu if he casts an Hourglass, since it uses all of his Mark Quanta to do it.

Turn 3: Draw a Supernova.  Cast it, Oty, Quint, Boneyard, Permafrost.
Paradox: Ray of Light, Deja Vu x3.

Turn 4: Eat the Ray of Light.  I think I cast Pulverizer, IDK.
Paradox: Deja Vus don't attack due to Permafrost shield.

Turn 5: Wait.  Draw Firestorm.
Paradox: Multiply Deja Vus.  Cast Ray of Light.

Turn 6: Play Bonewall, Firestorm, and laugh.
Paradox: Cast a Deja Vu, and Improved Blessing on it.

Turn 7: Eat the Blessed Deja Vu.

...and so it went.  By getting an early Permafrost to stop the small Deja Vus, it bought time enough to set up the Bonewall/Firestorm combo, which never got broken.

Result: 2 Elite Deja Vus won on the spins, +122 Electrum, and I beat a False God without taking a point of damage!

If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

"Getting lucky" is the hard part, I would think. (Story of my life...)

To beat ferox without getting hit you need to go first and  get lucky because he may hit you with a Ray of Light :o

You can beat most gods without taking a single damage :). Just need an early bonewall and quinted oty.

That said, that draw you had there was pretty epic.

I think Scorpio is impossible to beat without taking damage (Unless he doesnt draw Phys or deadly poison, Which is just about impossible :P)

The very first time I played Scorpio, I didn't get a single point of poison. I still lost, but no poison, lol. I didn't even realize he used poison until the second match against him. >.<

LOL! :D

I thought Scorpio was the hardest god in the world until I bought a Permafrost Shield. It's useful beyond comparison :)

Wow, Essence. You must be spending all your stat points on LUK.
