it's great that this card has been buffed but i would have prefered it if they had used my suggestion of plus 2 hp minus 1 attack. still, glad it's had some attention :)

I would say this card is very annoying if your opponent has it and keeps freezing your monsters and stoping you from dealing any damage. :( But if you have the card it could really help you from monster attacking your hp. Is annoying if your opponent has it but really helpful if you got the monster on your side of the field. :)
I agree, it's awesome CC, but its low HP makes it vulnerable (not good when its on your side) and easy to get rid of (good when it's your opponents) xD Paired with SoRs or Quintessences, I think Arctic Squids could be a major annoyance :P Still it's an awesome rare card IMO. :D

Good work, at least the squid now has some value compared to the oty, bloodsucker and maxwell's demon.

if it's about the "Nice buff!" comment, he meant he liked the buff, as do all of us
if it's about the note, well, adrenaline and quint were both released in a series (the alchemy series), and they both counter freeze

Yeah, I think he meant he liked the buff, thanks :P
Oh, true, I had them so assumed that I thought they were basic aspects of the game.

just what It needed, i have no arguments. I think a pvp deck with this for shut down can now be successfully attempted, especially with flood buff.

If this goes common, what about Pharaoh?  Maybe we should establish what about a card makes it better for it to be a rare.

And remember that rare status doesn't change card balance.  Back when I used to play Neverwinter Nights, which had multiclass XP penalties, new players often operated under the misconception that XP penalties somehow made a character build inferior.  The veterans all understood that it's not how long it takes to get there, it's what it's like when you arrive.  Who cares if it took me twice as long to level my Barbarian/Fighter/Bard, if it makes my character more solid than your pure Fighter?  At levels 1-59, you can laugh at my slow leveling all you want.  At 60, I'll be laughing at your corpse on the floor of Fierna's throne room.

There is a competition in the Card idea and Art board to make examples of good rare cards. As part of the competition entry each contestant must describe what makes a good rare and why their card fits that description.
"It is common sense to listen to the wisdom of the wise. The wise are marked by their readiness to listen to the wisdom of the fool."
"Nothing exists that cannot be countered." -OldTrees on indirect counters

I don't think there is a strict definition for that as of now, as long as it's a creature or a weapon with a really cool ability. Why is the pharaoh rare but not the FFQ? Kind of hard to defend. It wouldn't make sense to make the squid regular, since it has the coolest ability for sure.
