Who else here can't get enough of the doctor? I haven't been enjoying the current series as much as others (aside from some moments like the end of The Angels Take Manhattan. I do however like the look of the next arc (after this year's Christmas special (Spoilers!)

Spoiler for Christmas special:
What I'm really looking forward to is the contrast between the doctor's problem of "I can't stop killing my companions" and Oswin's "I keep dying, but I keep coming back". This looks like it will be really good. Oswin's character is also pretty good - playful with wit equal to the doctor's.

I've seen every episode of Doctor Who, including all the old ones (except the destroyed episodes, but I've seen the reconstructions) so I'd say I probably can't get enough either.  I haven't watched the Christmas episode yet, but I've been looking forward to it for months.  (and not just because the new companion is epic hot :p)  It's one of my favourite shows.

Doctor who quickly became my favorite show. Ive been watching torchwood, but havent been able to get into it nearly as much. I really dont like the current doctor too much. The one right before this was my favorite doctor. I havent seen any of the really old ones though, so I cant really say anything about those. Ive just seen starting from rose tyler on.

I think one of the things I dont like is that from Rose tyler up until Amelia pond, they are seemed like they were 1 show, but running. With the current doctor, there is hardly any reference at all to before he became this doctor. I think in 1 episode it showed Rose Tyler for a moment, but that was all. Aside from that there has been next to no mention to before the Doctors current form.

This thread should have been made a while ago.  :P My favorite so far is Tenant, but I'm nonetheless excited for the new season after seeing the special last night. Although I've heard that it won't be as much of an arc plot (probably found it on wikipedia or something). And, I love all these paradoxes :)

Watching all the old ones is on my to-do list.

With the current doctor, there is hardly any reference at all to before he became this doctor. I think in 1 episode it showed Rose Tyler for a moment, but that was all. Aside from that there has been next to no mention to before the Doctors current form.

One reason for this is that the head writer of the show changed when David Tennant left. Russell T. Davis was the head writer from the series relaunch in 2005 up until the tenth Doctors reincarnation and was also behind the spin-offs. Since then Steven Moffat has been the head writer and he has a different idea of what direction he wants the show to take. Personally, I really like the latest few series mainly because of Moffat. He's written most of my favourite episodes even from the tenth Doctor era such as 'The Girl in the Fireplace' and 'Blink'.

As to the Christmas Special, I enjoyed it but I'm not sure I'm much closer to understanding the Clara/Oswin situation. I have some ideas but I'm looking forward to them trying to explain that one. Also does anyone else think Steven Moffat has been reading 'Game of Thrones'? I think the phrase 'Winter is Coming' was used 3 or 4 times this episode.

Man, he's good at what he does.

As for the current episodes, I think they're a bit all over the place.
