Kinda here to start a little story on my own, once a month, seeing as i don't have all that much time. But eh? :P This section needs some love!

Prologue

A man sat upon a throne in a castle. He looked down at the captive below him, with a grimace.
"You," he uttered lowly, "What are you doing here?" The prisoner looked up in fear, then smiled mischievously. He grinned from ear to ear, eyes bright with what seemed to be... Pride? The man on the throne growled, and asked again "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" the prisoner flinched, then opened his mouth.
"War is coming upon the twelve elements," the prisoner uttered raggedly, "and there's nothing you can do to stop it." The man felt bile rising in his throat. Then he spat in front of the prisoner. The rage faded, and turned to a cunning plan.
"Do you know who I am?" he cooed, looking as calm as he possibly could, "I'm the master of air, which means I can easily win against any of the other elements at ease." He grinned evilly, "For you see without air, everyone would be suffocating. Of course i don't plan on participating in this silly war of yours, whatever it might mean."
"You have no choice," the prisoner rasped, "It is a bound duty gifted by our ancestors." he wheezed as the chains around his neck pulled tighter, then, with one swift movement, he was gone. The master of air stood up, then sat down again with a slump. He knew that war was coming now. And there was no way to stop it. He knew that the messenger had gone to warn all the rest. He closed his eyes, what now? Prepare. He must prepare for this war.

War is coming, and there's nothing you can do to stop it...

Chapter 1: Only the Beginning

"Sir," Called a voice from the door, It sounded urgent. He needed to get up, then. So be it. Though he wondered what was so urgent to get him up this early in the morning. He opened his eyes sleepily, then responded.
"Yes, what is it?" The messenger had only visited a few days ago, and he was sure no one wanted to take part in their ancestors' war, even if they had no choice. He wondered who would attack first. He knew it wasn't going to be him, though he had been preparing ever since. He knew what would happen, This whole land would turn into a battle field soon enough.
"It's the creatures, sir!" His apprentice, Celestia sounded worried, "They've gone out of control!"
He sighed, Celestia was a good apprentice, but she needed to be a little calmer about certain situations. She'd learn eventually. "Come, It's nothing to worry about," he smiled at her. She was a beautiful girl, she shone like the light itself, A good pick for a light apprentice. He has given her the name Celestia, taken from his an ancient light god. He walked the halls to the stables where the creatures awaited. He could hear them already, pacing and roaring, Not uneasy, Yet not quite excited for the war. Walking through the door, he noticed something in the shadows. A figure. Is this what Celestia was worried about? He looked at it closer, then threw a ball of light at it. It disappeared instantly and the creatures went quiet instantly.
"What was that?" She seemed a little worried, still. She had a right to be now.
"That, my darling," he sighed uneasily, "was a darkness clone." He strode the stables quickly, looking for any signs of unhealth or sickness in the creatures. "Darkness clones carry Liquid Shadows with them," He stopped at a gate on the far side. A Pegasus, looking a little darker than usual, laid on it's side, struggling from the pain of the Liquid Shadow. He held an arm in front of Celestia, and backed away slowly. Poor thing, it didn't know what it was doing. In a split second, the Pegasus lashed up, and grunted, slashing out at the general and his apprentice with it's horn. Celestia gasped, then fell back. It had started. The war had begun. The Pegasus died down once more, then went still. Dead. He had to keep an extra eye. He was going after darkness first, once and for all, they would settle this long rivalry...

Chapter 2: First Battle

A man stood at the waterside, he had a purple sword in his hand, ready for battle. He knew what he was here for.
"Come out," he shouted, "I know you're here!" It took a while, but soon, a watery figure emerged on the far side. It held a shield made from pure ice.
"What do you want?" it sneered. The man with the purple sword took a step forward, he was ready. He knew what he had to do.
"You know what i'm here for," He lifted his sword to meet his stance. The water figure solidified, and walked across the water. It held the shield up, preparing for the sword.
"Give me your worst!" The water elemental charged at the man, Giving a blowing knock back. The man was off balanced for a split second, before dodging another blow from his opponent. With a heaving swing, he hit the ice shield with his sword, cracking it. The water Elemental took a step back, surprised. The man took a step back too, mirroring his opponent. "I see," murmured the water elemental, "This sword you're carrying. Is this a Discord?" The man nodded slowly, preparing once more for his opponent. This time, he was the one to charge, throwing his sword at the water elemental. It sliced through like butter, but no damage took effect. Etherial mode. He should've known...
"Are you done being a showoff yet?" the water elemental chuckled, "you look ridiculous!". That did it, he could feel the rage rising in like bile.
With a swift movement, he slid under the water elemental's feet, and tripped him. It fell to the ground, startled. Within moments, the man was on his opponent, holding the sword over his enemy's head. Within another moment, he found himself still as a statue. The air around him was bitter cold. His opponent yet again had tricked him. He was frozen. He felt helpless. The water elemental stood over him, triumphing. He noticed that the ice was melting now, and fast. He was still warm! He could still do this! He would return home with a water elemental as a prisoner. Within the next moment, he moved his arm to break the ice around him. It shattered, and he rose up quietly, ready for the element of surprise. He ran towards his opponent, sword raised, and struck down.

Chapter 3: Old Rivals.

Two lights shone like lanterns in the dark cave that was darkness's domain. They were almost there, soon they would finish that old rivalry once and for all. Celestia stuck right behind her mentor, jumping at every little noise that occurred. A skitter sounded behind them, Celestia didn't move this time, knowing that someone was there, a living, breathing human being.
"Don't worry Celestia," Her mentor whispered, "That's only the darkness apprentice." He sighed, then continued. Soon enough, they entered into a big open space, with absolutely no light anywhere. Darkness domain. Celestia looked around, she couldn't see anything beyond the two feet of light she illuminated herself.
"Hello old friend," a voice echoed in the darkness, it was him. "How did i suspect you would come, what seems to be the event this time?" The lord of light himself let out a deep growl from his throat, then, in a stern voice, spoke.
"You know what i'm here for," He relentlessly commanded, "I'm here to finish this rivalry, once and for all" His old rival chuckled gruffly, which turned into a smooth laugh. Celestia gasped, listening closely to the skittering and squealing of darkness creatures around them. They were surrounded. Her mentor looked up, Gargoyles surrounded them on all angles. He listened to the ground below them, he could hear devourers and vampires scuffing around them.
"You were always a fool, old man," the darkness master laughed, "You think you can just come in and do as you please? no, most certainly not." Though as Celestia looked closer, she realized the darkness creatures wouldn't get too close to the light elementals. She tugged on her mentor's sleeve, and he gave a slight nod. Withing another moment, he took out his sword, which illuminated three more feet of light. The creatures squealed and backed farther away. The master of light chuckled, then moved forward, Celestia close behind him. within a few more minutes, they reached a large chair. Darkness's throne. But what sat there was not what either of them had expected. The darkness master's apprentice sat there, Celestia gasped as she looked closer. He had no eyes..
No eyes...
He grinned as he sensed their presence, then stood up, and whispered words.
"Best get out of here while you can," he uttered softly, then disappeared into the darkness. Celestia froze as she felt a hot breath near her ear, "Before it's too late." within moments, Celestia was wrapped in tendrils of thick vines. she screamed in panic, only to have it cut off. Darkness. She opened her eyes to find the apprentice standing in front of her, then she knew what she had to do.She had to fight.
Meanwhile, in the throne room, the two masters battled out their hatred for eachother. He was worried about Celestia, would she manage?
Celestia threw a ball of light at her darker opponent. He dodged it with ease. He had been trained to sense any auras and power the opponent used in battle. He had no eyes, after all. He threw a dagger at Celestia, which instantly got embedded in her shoulder. She screamed in pain. In the distance, her mentor had heard it, though could not decipher from where, however,

He had to help her...

Chapter 4: First battle (Part 2)

The water elemental shrieked and shriveled, then turned into pure water and sploshed onto the ground, like an ice figure melting into the ground. A water clone, this wasn't the real one! He turned around, then looked up, then down, turned his head to the pool of water. He felt something creep along his spine, and spun around instantly. There she was, standing there as if nothing had happened.
"So you finally got past that clone," she scoffed, "you entropy soldiers really are weird." she held a trident in one hand, and an ice shield in the other. she had come prepared. He grimaced, it was getting colder here as they spoke. He glared at the ice soldier.
"Looks like you water soldiers are a little too afraid to stand up against us in a real battle." he scolded. The water girl looked surprised, then she made an angry look at him. "That's right," he chuckled, "I just scolded you, as if you were a child." She screamed in rage, then pounded after him. He was ready. She swung the trident, and as he dodged it, he could feel the wind that came after the weapon had passed. Now was his time! He swung his weapon, which sparred with the trident. They were locked. He struggled under the weight of the trident, it was heavier than it looked. The water troop was on top of him now, putting more weight on the weapon. He struggled more, then, with a great heave, he kicked her off. She skidded across the ground, then got up.
"You're stronger than you look.." she panted a little, "But how?". He looked at the sword in his hand, then back at the Trident. Now it was his turn. He charged, and swung his sword at the soldier. She blocked his attack, but with the Trident, probably hoping to counter another spar.  With a great *CRACK* the Trident's handle broke in two. Both soldiers gasped, looking at the broken weapon. He'd done it. He's broken her only source of damage towards him. It would be a mistake to let his guard down so soon. She charged at him, shield in front of her, and hit his hand with the permafrost protection. Instantly, his weapon froze. He looked at his opponent in anger, then took out a shield of his own. This battle wasn't over yet. They both charged at each other, and within moment, their shields collided, scraping and scratching. He looked at her in anger, then pushed his shield into hers. She fell back.
"I was wrong," he smiled graciously, "You water folk are stronger than you look." He took his frozen sword, and walked away. He was simply here to test water's power, as commanded by his leader, the master of entropy. Now he could go back with his report, His general would be pleased, and they could start preparations. Every team was doing this. Soon is would be time for the real thing, and they would all be prepared, maybe they would even make alliances, no one would know what wold happen next...

Chapter 5: Alliances

Two people stood in front of each other. One was tall, and strong looking, he had tattoos all over his body. The other, a fair height with a blue cloak on. They were both murmuring quietly to eachother, looking like business. Within the ext few moments, they both stood up, and look at one another in the eye.
"Do we have a deal?" the one in the blue cloak offered. He looked easy going, almost ready to shake hands. The tattoo'd one nodded, and grabbed his dealer's hand firmly. They shook.

"Damian" His voice was stern, and he looked up immediatly, "Have you been paying attention?" He looked down shamefully at the slight scolding in his words. He knew he was zoning out, and he just couldn't help it. Being the water general's apprentice wasn't as easy as it looked. His mentor looked at him scornfully, then went back to explaining, this time Damian tried to listen.
"As I was saying," the general cleared his throat once more, "We've made our first alliance with the fire army. We will be fighting with them in the war." Damian knew what that meant. Fire was a bit snobby, and always acted superior if they were allied. But on the inside he knew that they were softer than they looked. Fire creatures were weak, even if they packed a punch, they could be taken down easily. Then again, he though to himself, This could provide a use for those steam machines... He got himself thinking again, only to snap back to attention when someone walked through the door. A fire elemental. He looked nervous, but still stood as tall as the rest. He had orange hair, and apparently his mentor said his name was Drake.
".." it was almost as if he couldn't speak, he just stood there. Damian was beginning to wonder if he was even alive.
"Come, Drake," his mentor urged, "Are you who they sent to be the representative?" Drake just nodded, he looked as if he were scared of water elementals. "Sit down, we're not going to hurt you." He walked slowly, then found a seat. A seat right beside Damian. Damian froze, he had never encountered another apprentice before, and Drake's presence surprised him. They both just sat there, stiff. Damian put his head down, and instantly, he was smacked across the back by his mentor. "Now Damian," he warned, "Let's not neglect our guest." Damian sighed and looked over at Drake. This person would help them win war. He swallowed, then opened his mouth to speak.
"Welcome to our humble home" He muttered, then instantly put his head down again. Drake seemed to be a little more on the comfortable side, probably to know that he wasn't the only one uneasy about this big meeting. His general walked back up to the front, Ready to continue to speak.
"Where was I?" He looked back at the war map on the wall, "Right. We'll target light for our first battle, and see how prepared they are."
"Did you hear about how one of your soldiers was beaten by an entropy elemental?" whispered Drake, Damian knew he was curious, but he wasn't stupid. This was basically a rhetorical question. Damian just nodded.

Is this how war was going to be from now on?

Chapter 6: Strange Teamups

Word had gotten out that water and fire were teaming up with each other in war. Was it really coming to this? Water hated fire, why would they team up? She looked around her, the same golden palace that stood like a giant tower clock, seemed dull. Apparently Earth and Gravity had teamed up too, and Entropy and darkness? Well, no one knew about that, it was only a rumour. Light had agreed with air to fight alongside with each other. Life and Aether elementals were stubborn, they didn't have any known alliances so far. Within moments, she noticed her mentor walk through the door. He looked worried. She rushed over to him.
"Any word?" Eterna tried to sound calm, but it failed. He just shook his head, looking even more worried. Then she realized. They got the alliance of death. The only team available. She let out an exasperated breath, almost enough to make her mentor roll his eyes. She learned about death elementals in class, and how they liked to work with poisons and kill things slowly and painfully. She didn't like death...
"Don't worry, Eterna," he promised, "We made a strategy with them, in order for things not to get out of control." She knew what that meant, a representative of death would be coming to pay a visit and discuss war tactics with time. She shuddered as she tried to imagine what they would look like. Maybe a skeleton with a cloak on, or perhaps a zombie. She made a funny face at the thought. Her mentor just chuckled lightly. "They don't look too bad off." he stated. She sighed, then shook the images out of her head, her blonde hair falling on her face.
"Very well then," she sighed, "but i still dislike the thought." She went inside and sat down in the meeting room, waiting for the death elemental. Within what seemed to be an hour, a boy walked through the door. He looked pale, and had purple and grey streaks in his hair. She stared at him for a while, before realizing this must be the representative of death. Her mentor walked in behind him, and they both sat down.  The death elemental looked around uneasily.
"How did you want to fight?" he finally spoke to Eterna's mentor. He smiled, and opened his mouth to speak.
"I suggest a new tactic," he started, and with a moment or two, he continued, "I think we should use spells on your creatures, as an experiment." The death elemental widened his eyes, then sat back.
"You'll have to take this up with our general." he murmured, "I'll let him know." Eterna and her mentor just nodded and smiled, and within in instant, the meeting was over. What a short meeting, it was just a few words. He walked out, and Eterna followed him out, tapping him on the shoulder before he walked out the door. He turned around.
"What's your name, boy?" she asked. He sighed, and answered.
"My name is Chronos." and with that, he turned and walked away. Eterna realized with shock. This was the death general's apprentice. She watched him go, and walked in the opposite direction. Her mentor stood in front of her.
"Remember, Eterna," he stated quietly, "Don't make bonds with people who might be your enemy one day." she nodded, and kept walking.

Chapter 7: Two vs. Two

Damian stood at the border between his home and time's territory. This was his mentor's first target? Time was strong. Maybe too strong. He knew what they were capable of. Reversing their opponents until they tire themselves out. He shuddered at the thought of having someone play back his movements down to the tiniest inch and copy them to use against him. Luckily he had a whole army behind him. He looked back to see Drake and his comrades heat up the steam machines they had brought with them.
"Are they almost ready?" he watched as thick, hot steam rose from the machines, and with a clanking thud, they came to life. They stood there, waiting for a command from their leader. He looked back to see time soldiers stood side by side in the distance. Just in time. He looked closer. They had death creatures with them! He knew they had allied themselves with death, which he honestly thought was a waste of time and odd. Drake landed heavily beside him.
"They're ready," Drake stated quietly as he watched the time soldiers in the distance, "are you?" Damian nodded, then motioned his team forward. He could feel as every last soldier behind him tensed and readied themselves for time. Within moments, he noticed what the time soldiers were doing. Reverse timing the mummies that were on the field. in a bright flash, each of them turned into a different creature. His eyes widened as he realized they were all now Pharaohs. This was new. The steam from the machines behind him grew hotter, and more intense. His mentor had warned him about tactics like this. He waved his hand, and soon found himself running beside Drake with his team behind him. He felt the ground shake as the big machines ran along behind them as well.  He summoned an ice bolt to his hand, and threw it at one of the Pharaohs, freezing it instantly. Then watched as Drake placed his hand on a golden artifact, an hourglass. It exploded after he let go of it. Looks like fire wasn't as weak as it looked. At the corner of his eye, he noticed a death elemental holding a weapon. It instantly charged at Drake, and slid the weapon along his side. Drake, feeling this, grunted in pain and crouched down.
"You ok?" he crouched down by Drake amidst the battle, and placed his hand on the wound. Within moments, he gave a purify to Drake, "Drink up, you're gonna need it." Drake did as he was told, and sighed in refreshment. Damian stood up, holding Drake on his feet. Another death elemental charged, but this time Drake parried him with a sword. The death elemental's weapon melted on contact, and it shrieked in pain as it stumbled back. Drake stood over it, holding a fire ball in his hand. He threw it at the death elemental. It shrieked again, then lay on the ground. When he realized some time and death elementals had stepped back to give themselves a break, he gave the word to advance forward, pushing them back even farther. Drake looked at the waiting Pharaohs, then swept his hand in the air. Instantly, a rain of fire came down onto the creatures, but was instantly relayed as a time elemental used reverse on the spell, replaying it over, and over again. Damian grinned. Time was a tricky element indeed. He raised his hand in the air, and as water rose from the ground, he took his own weapon. With a heave, he stabbed the weapon into the ground, creating a  small tsunami. Some of the time soldiers were already being pushed back farther. He knew he wasn't strong enough to make a bigger tsunami, but this would do to drive them right back into the gates. Within a moment or two, however, a bright light had come from the top of time's main tower, and he found himself facing his own gates. Water's domain. He growled, and hung his head in defeat. Drake patted him on the shoulder.
"Well done you two," He looked up at his mentor's voice, and found himself staring into the blue eyes of his general, "You both did well on your first time. Now time is weak." he smiled at the two apprentices, then walked back into the ice palace.

They'd done well on their first time.

Chapter 8: Who Would've Known?

Discord listened outside, she could hear the howling of the werewolves her mentor and general had given to the general of darkness. They were stronger than before, and louder. She put the pillow over her head, trying to block out the eerie sounds of the howling. Why did her general have to launch the attack at night? She knew what the howling meant, and she knew she had to be there for the attack. She swiftly got out of bed, and raced outside. Within the few moments it took, she was standing beside her mentor instantly.
"There you are, Discord," he sounded relieved, "I was starting to think you died." he chuckled, and she just sighed. They both knew how tricky darkness elementals could be. Some say they even captured other elementals' children at night just for fun. she shivered at the thought, and looked over to where the werewolves were headed. Gravity headquarters. She mounted one of the big beasts, and followed closely behind her mentor. Within moments, they were charging towards the shiny building. Discord looked around her, and watched as shadows emerged from random places in the darkness, riding dragons as dark as the night itself, yet glistening with shiny obsidian gems, riding alongside them. Within moments, the ground shook like an earthquake, and the line of werewolves stumbled a bit. She noticed in the distance, two figures standing side by side. One was holding a weapon, which shined dully, and had a ball with spikes on the end of it. He lifted it and smashed it on the ground, sending another wave of earthquake rippling through the ground. This time some of the werewolves fell over, and soldiers started using a different tactic. Within the next few moments, dragons, iridescent purple, and shining like crystals, came swooping down on the battlefield. They were spitting chaos seeds everywhere, frosting the ground with ice, or charring it with scorching hot flames. Each one was random. One even landed on one of the werewolves and Parallel Universe'd it.  What luck. More howling rose, like the sound of eerie ghosts trying to sing to each other, creepy. Discord let out a battle cry, and dove headfirst at the two figures ahead. Another smash on the ground, but it was dodged as she ushered her werewolf to jump in the air. She shouted at the two figures, and with a swipe of the purple sword she had in her hand, she managed to spar the weapon away from it's wielder. He grunted, and leaped at her, climbing up the side of the massive beast she was riding. It was only them now, both riding the werewolf as it howled and looked back at the attacker with malice in its eyes. As she tried to kick the brown haired soldier off of her wolf, he grabbed her leg. She wrenched it out of his solid hands, twisting her ankle in the process. She just grunted, but now her pursuer was on top of the wolf as well. Getting annoyed, she punched him in the face, but he braced solidly, and mirrored her move. She growled, getting ready to make her next move. It took her a few moments to realize that she was fighting an earth elemental. Her mentor had warned her about how stubborn and thickheaded they are.
"This is quite a battlefield for a little girl to be out on." he cooed, Now he had done, it. She could feel the rage rising in her now, hot as fire. She wasn't a little girl. She should've known earth elementals weren't smart enough to keep their big mouths shut when they were battling other elementals. She knew he was only trying to daunt her to get a better chance at winning, but that was not a good way to try. She growled, and steered her werewolf away from an upcoming wall, and lashed out at him with her sword at the same time. Now the wolf was heading towards the gate, and with a heaving jump, the werewolf went over the gate, and back out onto the battlefield. She looked at him in a scolding way, saying in her own way that she was not a little girl. The soldier looked surprised, and she took her chance. She lashed out with her sword again. He grabbed it, his hand coated with stone to protect it. The stone armor smashed, and they both went tumbling off the wolf, onto the ground. His other hand was coated in stone too, and he punched her. It felt like she was hitting a stone wall, face first. She stumbled back, and she felt liquid slowly dripping down her face from her nose. She held a finger up to it, and pulled it back, looking at the red liquid that was on it. Blood. She looked back up at the earth elemental, and he chuckled lightly.
"Do that again," she dared, "Go on. You want to win don't you?" He froze, and looked at her blood on his hand. He looked almost, sad?
"We're not allowed to kill our opponent," he sighed, "We were ordered to keep any defeated elementals as captors." Fear rose in Discord's stomach, it would be better to kill than to keep as a prisoner. She couldn't lose this now, it was no longer an option! She scrambled to her feet in a flurry of blood and fear.
"No.." she stuttered, "I can't let that happen!" she held her sword up, ready to battle. He just stood there, and within moments, he pulled out a potion. She backed up as she realized what it was. Basilisk Blood. She didn't want to go down like this, she got ready to run. But it was too late, she had hesitated too long. he threw it at her, and everything went still, as the ground rushed towards her. She listening to the sounds of battle around her, and somewhere in the distance. Her mentor, calling her name.

This wasn't good...
