will be UP with too much cost.
Mitosis will always be OP. There is no UP Mitosis.

Dont make assumptions without backing it up. Using a hypothetical will only make you look bad. Make a deck, and then your opinion will be warranted.

Most versions of Mitosis makes FGs easy. For instance: Mitosis scarabs. Tons of HP, eats ev erything, gets lots of damage due to it.

Umm...this is just a patently ridiculous statement.  For Mitosis Scarabs to work, the Scarab with Mitosis has to stay in play and unmolested -- as do all of its spawn -- for X+1 turns, where X is the HP of the FG's creatures that you want to Devour.

Go check the number of FGs that don't have any creature control (which kills this deck outright), and then check how many of the remainder will outrush you EASILY within X turns.   I guarantee you the total is 100% of the FGs -- ALL of them beat Scarab Mitosis.

And that, at heart, is the problem with all of these arguments against Mitosis: none of them take into account what is ACTUALLY required to make Mitosis work.

Mitosis is WEAKER than Fractal in every single way except one: Mitosis can, if the enemy has no CC, eventually create more of a given creature than Fractal can.  It's slow to create creatures, it sits on the board where everything from Rewind to Psionic Wave can make it go away, and it takes away the skill of the creature you play it on.

The arguments against Mitosis are strictly born of ignorance, with one exception: Mitosis on a flying weapon does remove the card disadvantage inherent in creating more flying weapons, and that is, from a mechanical point of view, actually overpowered in a literal sense.  Removing the ability to target flying weapons fixes that, and nothing else needs to be done to it.

Restore the original casting cost, remove targeting weapons.  End of story.

Wow the Nerf was completely unnecessary.

Before it was like "wow" Life is gonna have one of the best cards in the game!!! It is going to be the new "in" card.

6|5 and no weapons is like. Oh that is a novel effect I see monolife decks use sometimes... Haven't seen it in a while, how quaint.

Seriously is you want to keep the flying weapon thing out fine, but the cost increase means you have to wait 1 to 2 extra turns to set up, which means your mother creature is more likely to get killed and you are going to be behind because you could have been playing other stuff for 2 turns.

Anyhow I think that if the nerf is probably fine, but it turned a "super" card into a dull one. Of course people complained for ages about fractal so I guess the idea is not to introduce something that powerful.

Works, except that now you're talking about a quad deck (:aether for quint, :time for scarabs, :life for Mitosis, and :gravity for Devour) and a three-card combo, both of which serve to slow the whole thing down even more and dramatically increase your chance of getting outrushed.

Not to mention the fact that Scarabs don't have high HP until you've already spawned several, and the FGs have their CC ready long before that's happened.

You can't win this one, dude, because you're just straight up wrong.

It's called quantum towers/supernovas.

NOTE:

I specifically said this deck is not real, I don't recommend it. I'm not saying it works, I'm not saying it's a good FG farmer.

I just said it's an example of what Mitosis can do without CC's.

I agree. Asheaters are a nice damage source if you have blessing/chaos power/tons of other upgrades.

I'm gonna make an ash eater deck..

I'm glad Essence and BluePriest get it.

I was testing my scarab deck for a good hour with a 18% win rate or so. I was even able to beat Rainbow but that was pure luck since he only get his CC out after I had enough to kill him.

Almost everytime of the time it gets beat by CC or lack of healing due to lack of life Quanta.

Even against T50 decks I get outrushed and have lost several times the turn before I might have a chance.
