I'm not sure if your response to furball was earnest or not but I was experimenting with Forest Scorpion a lot recently, and I will say that it is not merely a major flaw but a horribly fatal one. Most shields will wreck this deck.

Maybe splash in some PC, like this? I had not tested it much, so doubtless the quanta balance will be wonky, and you could certainly do any number of other things like add Spine Carapaces for CC, or switch to fire for Deflags and Rage Pots. This is just an example.
