Because his idea was taken, and implemented into the game. The idea was changed, but the basic idea, plus some, is the same.

i like this card better than the real phoenix, though. i hate the current phoenix and abominations that become cheaper and weaker when upgraded.

Except that in this form it didn't allow for fractal spam and infinite rebirth.

*gasps* WHOA!  So there was a card that was implemented once from an inspirational idea/piece of art...

This card is a bit on the expensive side, but the concept of it being born again from 'ashes' after dying is hinted all around. Major props to a simple, but perfect card idea.

Tell us? It's not like it was a secret. It was common knowledge to everyone who was there at the time. I should have moved this card here a long time ago but I totally forgot about it.
