King of the Hill - Rules
Original idea by: Kakerlake   |   Developed by: Kakerlake, Modified by: Laxadarap   |   Art by: Laxadarap   |   Organized by: Laxadarap

Using a chosen set of Elements, you will fight other Elementals for the title "King of the Hill"

1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
Anyone with a forum account and at least 30 Posts can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,51031.msg1095334.html#msg1095334). If you cannot find a sign up topic, you may want to start clicking the previous sentence randomly.

There is no maximum amount of participants for this event and no deadline for signing up. You can join anytime while the event is going on.

2. GETTING READY
Post in the Signup-Topic a reply, containing a reason why you want to join and a set of up to 3 chosen elements. If you didn't post a reason or elements, you may not join the event, because you didn't read the rules.

After signing up, the organizer will add you to the list of players and you may actively join the event in the next round.

3. BRACKETS
This event is a Battly Royale tournament.
 - Each round will last 3 Days.
 - There will be at least 10 rounds, from then on, there will be a open vote (yes/no) if the event shall be over. If by the rounds end more than 70% voted for "yes", the event is over.
 - You can gain up to 7 points each round.
 - Each victory counts as +3 points, each loss as +1 point
 - A victory against a King of the Hill counts as +4 Points, the KotH receives no Points (Nothing special if the KotH wins)
 - You can only play against the same Elemental up to 2 times in a round.
 - You can't have more than 4 matches in a round.

At the end of the Round, the Organizer will post a new topic, containing all the current players with their Elements, Locked Cards and the KotH (Players with most Points).

4. DECKBUILDING
You may only use your chosen 3 Elements and other cards when building your decks.
 - Mark has to be one of the chosen Elements.
 - You may use any card from your 3 Elements.
- Shards are restricted to 3 shards per deck (not copies, total shards).
 - You may use as many upgraded cards, as the number of the round it is.
- You may also add an upgrade for every match you have lost.
 - If you can't field a legal deck anymore, you may re-signup and lose all progress made so far. (Your highest score will be saved, but you will start again at 0)

If an Element is locked for you, you may neither use the Mark nor any card from that Element.
If a card is locked for you, you may not use it in your Decks.

5. KOTH
-There will be no "King of the Hill" for the first round.  It will be assigned to the person who wins a match with the most hp (screenshot required).  An EM counts as "double" the hp.  It can be from any of the individual duels.  For example, if Player A gives me a 100 hp EM, player B gives me a win with 146 hp, and player C gives me a 347 hp win, Player C would be the first KotH, with Player A coming in second (note, no prize for second).
-If you defeat the KotH you become the new KotH.
-If you are defeated as the KotH, you are no longer the KoTH.
-The King of the Hill may use 6 total shards in his/her deck.

6. MATCHES
You can challenge any King of the Hill member to a match at any time. Best way to find opponents is to use the official Elements Chat (or the IRC Chat if the main chat is down), but you can also use other methods like forum PM’s etc. How you find the opponent is irrelevant as long as you both are members of King of the Hill.  I highly suggest that you enter and chat, name a player and scream: "I SHALL CHALLENGE THEE FOR KINGSHIP OF THE MOUND!"

Your opponent has the right to refuse your challenge if he or she is busy with other things at the time. However continuously avoiding a specific player just because you think you might lose, or simply don't want to fight them, is not allowed.  Accepting a challenge is an honorable thing to do, and we hope everyone understands that.
Matchess are best-of-three. The first player who wins 2 individual duels, wins the match.

You are not allowed to change your deck during a match.

It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.

7. AFTER DUELS
Winner should post a new topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went. Both the winner and the loser are required to post their decks..

The loser has to chose 2 of his used cards (non-Pillar) of which he had at least 3 copies in the deck, those cards will be permanently locked for him and may not be used anymore in deck building.
In exchange, the loser may permanently use 1 additional upgraded card.
If the loser doesn't choose 2 cards, the element of the used Mark gets permanently locked.

8. WINNER
The player who has most points at the end of the last round is the winner of the event.

9. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive an award icon to be decided.  I will accept any suggestions, and if I receive none, I will make my own.

Please post any suggestions for the rules, ask questions, and ask for clarifications in this thread.

I have no problems with it. I'll ask others in chat about it.

I don't see any penalty regarding using an illegal deck. Is there one?

You lose the match.  That is standard penalty for using an illegal deck in every event I can think of.

EDIT: Actually, I think I see what you mean by this.  Nevertheless, I am not allowing anybody to change decks, so the illegal deck user would have to "play" it all duels in the match, and the match would be lost.  Can't allow counter building, and not going to punish the person who used a legal deck because somebody else used an illegal one (not going to make them change decks).
